This talk was recorded at Science and Nonduality Gathering in Titignano, Italy in 2016.
Jac O’Keeffe experienced a spontaneous,
inner awakening in 1997. Her third eye opened, and her life dramatically changed course. She left a successful career pioneering community arts policy at the national level in Ireland to begin a substantial, healing practice, which progressed into residential retreats that explored the spiritual causes underpinning clinical depression. In 2003, she closed her practice, left her Western lifestyle, and eventually moved to India. Intense spiritual practice led to a two year period without thoughts. Spiritual wisdom developed, and Jac now guides others in her teachings and publications to transcend dual and non dual perspectives, and prepares spiritual teachers for liberation.

Love this. Yesterday I had surgery for breast cancer. A non negotiable situation. Unknown environment entirely out of my familiar life and routine. The only thing to do was trust everyone, love everyone, thank everyone as if they were doing all this for me. Which they were. Can't believe such a timely talk would come to me today. New and radical and practical steps anyone can take now. Don't wait for cancer.
Hope you are well. Today, I was remembering how long it took for me let go of "trying to be my father." A psychologist said I needed someone -- anyone's -- permission to stop doing that. Then I thought of those who probably never do that. I imagine they are so committed to living the way their parent did that are trapped in repeating the "sins of the father." Of course, they are likely to receive the blessings in the same way that the parent did.
I also liked what this teacher said about how we are 98 percent the same in terms of behavior and thinking, if I'm understanding her.
This woman sees, and speaks, VERY clearly; she is a wonderful big sister to us all.
Since I heard u say to focus on using the brain's right hemisphere (thru the "what's behind me" example), my mental"stories" have stopped racing, my stomach has settled, etc. Wow..an invaluable point! And I agree Ms. O'Keeffe - there are NO quick fixes, I think I've tried them all! Thank u.
This is a simply wonderful talk, much needed clarity in the current climate!

Sit with legs and arms crossed creates a 'whole brain' posture. The whole brain working together.
Imagine a non negotiable situation; an unknown terrain entirely out of your familiar life and routine. In such situation, the only thing you may do is trust. Prior to radical and practical steps are taken, first and foremost your brain's right hemisphere having got to activate-while your mental "stories" have stopped racing. In such momentum, your brain's right hemisphere is encompassing all happening inclusively; it's all in all what you may call divine life; from genesis to revelation. Thus eternity is unknowable Truth beyond time and space-whereas empirical reality is just an existential drift. True teachers are only meant to be pointers that's all! they point us in the direction of the unspeakable Truth.

(i could be wrong, but) Smells like Nondual babble that has infected many Neo Advaita folks. Jac is suggesting the exact opposite .... to break one free of such concepts coming from an uninvestigated lower level masquerading as a higher standpoint.

Trust,- To see that all life is guiding me in doing all that I do, at the time and manner meant to be done. All occurrences are as meant to be. Universal repulsion/attraction energy guides me from/to my compatibility. To see this is to be alert and present, and capable of responding proactively and cooperatively, instead of re-acting competitively. As I see life 'choosing' for me,, passivity? Quite the contrary. I am with the highest quality of efficiency in ability to 'do' all that I do. What I am doing is then realized as my true and authentic interests, desires, wants, hopes, wishes and needs. THAT S manifestation! Ego? A bolt of lightning killed a young tree! That s ego! It s ok to call it ego, as long as it is not embraced to be only a human inefficiency. Believing only humans to be afflicted, separate/distinct from all other lifes thing/beings I S suffering!

Strange how the new fancy jargon comes to same conclusion to the established religions that they criticise,at the core,Islam says surrender yourself to God, Christianity the same,let the Holy Spirit work through you,not your ego,or left brain or whatever you want to call it.

I love this woman,but why not state the obvious,her left brain presents a new version of the old version,which isn't a version in any case.
I believe that all the major religons came from someone trying to share the nondual message. The message just got misunderstood and layred with cultural stuff over time

Dear @Jac O’Keefe, think a little bit when you say to people to push the edges. Think about responsibility. What you suggest is: kill if you want to kill, abandon your children if you feel like to abandon. We have a brain for some reason. While pleasure is the ultimate goal, people will remain blind. I prefer Osho. He says: do nothing and he is truly enlightened.
Esther Camilo yes I think I was the only one that noticed it, she said at the end don't be good, be bad for the good reasons, it's irresponsible. It's ok not to be to hard on our selves when we make mistakes, but everything has limits because we live in a society.
