    Should we make this template install an option when buying our DIY PPF kit? (tesbros.com/products/diy-front-protection-kit-ppf-for-model-3 )

    Why were there no use of a heat gun to stretch the material in this video? Every bulk ppf piece on eBay or Amazon says it’s required to fit properly.

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад

      A heat gun is very pointed, so when you're heating the film, it's very easy to damage or overstretch certain areas. If you need to stretch more, I would use warm water or a steamer since the heat will be dispersed widely and evenly. I didn't use heat on this bumper, because there aren't any major curves on the Model 3 or Y bumper that need heat to stretch. PPF can actually stretch a good bit without heat.

    Is there a reason you didn't apply solution first before laying it on?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  2 месяца назад +1

      Since it's such a large piece, I wanted it to stick to the bumper as i was rolling it out and not risk it falling to the floor and getting contaminated

    Is it required to remove the tow hook when installing the ppf?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Месяц назад

      If you have a template that goes around it, then no. But if you’re doing it in bulk, it’ll be easier to remove it first

    I have a model S coming in soon. I was under the influence that installing a ppf would require removal of body parts, is this not true? Also, how much would you estimate it cost me to install 1. Front number and hood, and 2. Entire car? Thanks in advance!

    • @brandonlively8320
      @brandonlively8320 2 года назад +1

      Usually PPF install doesn't require removal of body parts, especially on a Tesla since the door handles are flush.
      If you're doing DIY then precut kits are your best bet. Depending on which film you choose the cost will be ~$400-$700 for bumper and hood, and ~$1500-$3000 for full car. If you do DIY then prep work is extremely important, so factor in the cost of iron remover, clay bar, paint correction and polishing.
      Professional install would likely be ~$1300 for bumper and hood, and ~$7000 for full car. Depending on where you live ofc.

      Congrats on your new ride! Some installers like to take off parts of the car for reasons like wrapping over all edges or more room to install, but oftentimes it's not required. Especially for a Model S this shouldn't be necessary. The cost will depend on the PPF brand and where you live, so I would check around in your area to see what installers are charging.

    What type of brand do you use for the bumper PPF? Does the type of material your use makes any difference in clarity, protection, etc.

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Год назад

      We use Avery Supreme Defense. It’s a great product and well trusted brand. We did a ppf comparison and you can check that out. But the biggest brands are all very comparable and works well.

    PPF seperates everyone from how good they are. PPF is more work than Vinyl thats why STEK is top leader in PPF .

    what is slip solution

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  2 месяца назад +1

      It’s 1000 ml water to 5ml of dish soap. PPF is a wet install so it needs the slip solution to move the PPF in place and allow the film to adhere
