- Session Zero returns in a brand new enviroment; say hello to our magnificent tavern studio! As we soft reset the timeline, fate has it that the party you're familiar with meet for the first time in a tavern, with plans to adventure forth for individual reasons personal to them. However, the sea isn't as calm as one would hope and the party find themselves needing each others strengths to push forward. Together with the help of Sir Francis Pumpernickle, Brother Nathaniel and Captain Liam, the party face their very first foe, evil made manifest.

LOL.... Hollywood got nothing on cliffhanger status as compared to what Josh just pulled
We hope you enjoy the new, live acted Session Zero adventures.
While I (the dm) know the general adventure, the players have no idea what is about to happen, the reactions real and solutions are improv.
Many years from now we hope to look back at this video, and see the beginnings of something great :)
Wish I had been during the livestream. This is really a good episode. Looking forward to not missing the next.
Coooooooool
I look forward to all the campaigns to come . You’ve got a sub from me !
Thank you for believing in the magic we are bringing to the screen and in your ears
Thank you for taking all this time and effort. Wonderful content and hopefully it keeps growing.

Josh is having too much fun with Pumpernickel, keep him safe, Huzza!
It took me longer than I care to admit to twig onto the fact Mullac Drab was Bard Callum backwards.
It's been a long day.
Derping aside, hot damn guys, the new setup is amazing! Grats and best of luck to the lot of you with Session Zero going forward! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I saw we're all looking forward to a host of flute-based shenanigans, awkward barbarian social interactions, magical bloodbaths and a literal mountain of dead Timmys left in your wake.
Oooooooooh!
Rage can teatime Cal IRL now for maximum immersion. Nice~
Mullac Drab... Bard Callum? lol I was thinking about what callum was saying in the earlier video "it'll make sense if you read it" and i kept saying the name in the my had and was like wait a minute! drab drab darb.. ahh it's bard!
Commenting for the algorithm gods. Great first episode, everyone! TALLY HO!
All hail the algorithm.
Yay, you fixed the audio!
"He seems to keep himself to himself". Love it.
Josh knows how to keep the stakes clear and the scene moving, and the players portray their characters in a grounded but clear and fun way. First time I'm watching you guys and I really like it!
Jesus Christ, Josh's DMing is nothing short of phenomenal. I'm in love with his movements, accents, energy, everything.
Oh, I love it with all players in the room and no monitors around. You may twick the camera angles in future, but otherwise SO MUCH FUN watching it.
yes, I think closer to eye level and closer to the person might be better and reduce the need for the mildly-distracting zoom. this is such a cool setup though!
I don't consume a lot of D&D content. I often find it's too long, I don't much care for the 5e rules, and I don't like comparing myself to other DMs. But I've been waiting to see Josh DM and I'm excited to continue watching this series.
I still can´t fathom how you set this up so quickly... This is amazing!
That was fantastic - I only have one point of , constructive crit - please get Josh a like, head mic thing, like he has at the events - he is so dynamic, its fantastic, but some times he pulls away from the mic. Heck make him DM standing up so he can run around a bit more lol :) great stuff guys. love watching all of you.
Finally got the time to catch up with you and all I can think of is that damn dark elf prince in his silvery armour from Oblivion. Huzzah!
As a lifelong DM myself. That groan at the end is the biggest compliment you can get. I look forward to the next session.
Huzzah! Looking forward to more 🐱
i just love the stripped down rules light and very fast moving pace of this!
I really enjoy watching Ca... sorry, Mullac's reactions. He's so chill and collected but then Josh says something crazy and he goes 0 to 60 in microseconds. You guys are having so much fun with this that it's hard not to have fun with you all. Cheers!
This is great guys! And the setup looks amazing!
Love the new setting and well done with the names! 👍😊
What a nice treat to see after coming back home from a fun warhammer Wednesday hobby night. Looking forward to watching this tomorrow while painting some minis. So glad this is back, binge watched all of the over the past week or so
Outstanding! I'm hooked!
That was incredible! The leap in production quality is crazy, good job!
Man that cliffhanger tho. Cannot wait for next week!!
I love the new set
The hot fuzz reference caught me off guard. White or red.
Fantastic setup, looks great. Though I am sure drive isn't the correct term for what rage did on the ship.
Go get it guys!
How does this not have more views? This is fucking great, keep it up, great story telling and fun characters!
Divinity the original Sin 2 Vibes! at the end!
I love the oblivion? skyline in the background
There is a remarkable amount of "remarkable" in this. Remarkable.
Damn i love this series!
Awesome set guys! I can see that you put a lot of work into it, looks great!
Absolutely phantasmal!

"5!"
"3 sir"
"3!"
HUZZAH!
Minor request, and I'm sure you would have done this soon anyway, but adding this to a new playlist would be great. Due to timezone differences I'm pretty much going to be excluisvely watching the uploads after the fact, so having a playlist to save will make it easier for me to watch the subsequent sessions. *Edit: I see the playlist has now been created. Thank you!
Let's go! Been waiting for this!
Really enjoyed this! Great work guys! Excited to see where the story goes :)
Fantastic! Can’t wait for the next part.
Loveing these D&D sessions and the brand new place youve set up, keep them coming please!
This was excellent and a joy to watch! Can't wait to see what happens next time.
Wow set is looking great gang
This was great!
I've been a fan of Callum and Josh for a while, decided to give this a watch and loving it! Can't wait to watch the rest!
Mullac drab is of course an insanely funny pun (cough cough), but it does really have a fantasy theme.
Absolutely remarkable storytelling! After today's Campaign finish, I'm going back to catch the whole story! Episode 2!
Nice work guys! Struggling with your names though, can barely pronouce my own and thats only 3 letters.
This is a very fun twist on a beloved concept
That was awesome! Thx
so the boat captain is just one day away from retirement, is he? :))) Oh no!
Mullac Drab. Really ;)
Loving this already
Oooh, I'm so in for the reboot of Session Zero. 😄
Currently around 47 minutes in and the foreshadowing of this captian 😅😅😅 there is no way this captain gets to retire with hos daughter with how much he's talking about it 😢
ahahah thanks for watching
huzzah!
TALLY-HO!
You know, I have to say it. Listening to stories in a UK accent makes all the difference. Sure the others are fine, but I mean... there's no comparison.
. . . this origami thing is coming up again, isn't it?
The set is dope af.
One thing that I'd just like to ask about - have you thought about adding some background music? Maybe it's just me cause I always play dnd with some fantasy music playing.
Let's gooo
Awesome, I've been looking forward to this! How about mirroring Josh so that when he talks to someone he's turned in their direction on the screen?
EPIC!!!
guys just a minor critique I loved the idea of setting the stage on a real set but to be honest there no actual visual distinction everyone still using different cams appearing on different section of the screen, it will be awesome if we can see all of you at a table on a single cam playing a roleplaying
By the way love the show
woah!
AMAZING!
is it just me that thinks the cameras feel abit out of focus? can't put my finger on it but feels like a soft blur? love what you're doing so far btw :)
I feel like I am the only one that got the Daring Do reference.
How long did it take to realize, that the daughter of the Captain is as good as doomed already? Not long, about the first sentence Josh had him say about her.
I see someone likes Darkest Dungeon XD
I despise all 4 of you, for making me want to have a go at dnd now.
set looks great. really fun episode, excited for the future!
it took me half of episode to get it... mullaC draB
Ayyyyyy!
De locos
Nice
Cool
Next time tentacle-p. ... well hopefully not.

Small feedback, don't take it the wrong way, just want to help. I know you want to show off the set you've built, but the camera angles are horrible and protagonists are very smalls in their frames. Lot's of empty space around them. We don't need to see the table and their paper sheets and dice. I don't know the setup you got there, but it would be nice to lower them cameras to their eye level, zoom in a bit and if somebody sits by a window, make the window part of the frame, so we can see outside. Game is about characters, so they should be the center of the frame. In a close up. The hammer is cool, I get it, but like I've said, game is about the characters. I don't look at the props for an hour. Also no need to show his DM's " hiding wall" and the white empty space behind him. There is a windonw behind him. It should be visible what's outside (I know its a monitor. You've put tons of work into making them and we can see crap :).
It is session zero, so I figured feedback would be wanted.
I find your lack of actual rules very odd xD Why are they never rolling any actual skills? Just "a d20" always with no additions to the rolls.
Mostly just curious what sort of ruleset you're using or if it's genuinely designed to be as crunch-less as possible.
Good story and characters though! Looking forward to more.
From what I remember Josh had said, it is a heavily modified 5e ruleset
@@saltminer7711 modified so heavily there aren't skills anymore? that's pretty wild.
Biggest problem with 5e is how restricting everything is. Too many options are written out for you. Get rid of skills and you players will come up with amazing solutions to problems. Makes things go faster too.
@@denisjovic329 but what you're suggesting is just not playing dnd, which is fine, but this is advertised as a dnd game and it's not really. the dice are pointless, just play a diceless rpg.
like she rolled a 4 and succeeded anyway, i don't see the point. they'd do awesome with a diceless game where they just went with the most dramatic and interesting story option as they played.
@@denisjovic329 also 5e is like the least restrictive edition of dnd so that's an odd complaint. this isn't 3.5 with it's endless pointless specificity.
Amazing start! I can't wait for the next episode!
Good stuff, Can't wait to see what's in store.
