He's tough as nails too. He fought a guy from the most popular fighting area in Ghana which has produced more world class fighters than any place in the world, and these guys are born with gloves on but spence overpowered him and won a unanimous decision. That's when i knew that he was the real deal because he's not just skilled but tough too.
Spence gloves talk to you, you can actually hear his gloves talking. When you get tired of hearing Spence gloves, you sleep.

First time seeing this particular match and you could see Spence's calling card, work that jab, work that jab, work that jab. That can't be stressed enough combined with decent footwork. The jab sets up everything else, the left hand is pure power and once he gets close enough to start digging that body it's over soldier. Sugar Ray called it just as it was happening. Those body shots was going to do Vargas in. Whenever Spence boxing in NYC he trains at our local gym. His entire team are very nice and humble folk.

Facts. Him and the Charlos. It seems like a Texas thing to get in close, block shots and counter the opponents with power. Jermall Charlo's uppercut on Julian Williams was a parried shot with the right hand followed by a counter uppercut with the same hand. I haven't seen anything more amazing yet.
I love watching Spence fight. He is a complete fighter and in many ways he reminds me of Sugar Ray Leonard, the man who was commentating

Big fan of Errol Spence. Calm talking very focused boxer. With the accuracy and rhythm to hurt anyone. I want to see him fight Crawford. Very different fighters. It’s very easy to tell with boxers. No scars on his face and he speaks well. He needs a shot at the big time, but as it’s normal with boxing in the USA, he probably won’t get the chance. Errol just needs a chance. He will do the rest.
This is why Spence Jr. is my favorite fighter rn. Love everything about his boxing. He can outbox anyone and I really think he’s the best welterweight and will best anyone in almost every class. Besides the 185 and up.

What's crazy is that Spence's right hook and left cross are just as fast as his right jab and left straight and he still chooses to stick to the basics.
Love that he counters with the jab consistently. His opponents are almost never in the fight.
Vergil and Errol collectively/together landed an average of 81% of their power punches when fighting Vargas. That can’t feel good, eating so many power shots from those two can’t feel great. Either way Vargas has a chin on him.

By round 4, Vargas was looking almost purely defensive. But the stoppage looked very weird. I think his corner didn’t complain because they knew he had no chance of winning. His corner should have stopped it.
