Do not spend a dime on buckets! I am a cake decorator and save all my buckets. People ask for them all the time for a variety of reasons. Mine range in 3 to 5 gal buckets. Go ask your local bakery! Best part, they are food grade, so you can store pet food in them.

An important use that wasn’t mentioned… There are potty seats with lids that snap onto a 5 gallon bucket for camping. Just line with a black plastic trash bag, then tie it up & dispose of it.

I helped build what looked like a beehive out of those buckets for a no kill cat shelter. Duck taped them together and put the floor mats from Dollar Tree cut in half inside. The buckets were laid sideways and we used styrofoam “shims” taped to the backs between buckets to keep them level. The cats quickly climbed in and loved this. Wish I had a photo. Each bucket made one kitty “condo”. Worked great!

If you are a seasoned crafter, always great tips, tricks and reminders.. I have never seen the “seat” for the buckets. I could use one in the garden and store the garden tools inside. Oh and ps.. your hubby looked like he was having fun spinning around 😂😂😂 Honey is so sweet Thanks for sharing!.

I think that lantern idea is actually pretty genuis for power outages or outside fun around the pool. They look like they illuminate a wide area, so definitely a nifty hack for when the power is out. We lose power A LOT in the summer because we share a power grid with a couple of different camp sites, so when the campers start piling in, we end up losing power. We also lose power anytime the wind blows a little too hard, so those buckets would come in handy here, for sure. And the ottoman idea was cute! I'll definitely be doing that hack, too.
Also, your husband looked like he was having so much fun spinning around on that bucket. 😂 It was adorable.

I used a cushioned lid (I think it is made for hunting because it is camo) on my 5 gal bucket. It also swivels. I would recommend putting a round board in the bottom of of the bucket before attaching the castors. The plastic isn't strong enough for heavy duty usage. I use mine for refinishing furniture. and doing detail work of large projects. I've used a 5 gal bucket 'handy-man' pouch for years and love it. I also put castors on it. I also use them for long stemmed artificial flowers, bushes, peacock feathers, etc. I have some deep shelves for large objects in my workspace and I lay the buckets on their sides on them for easy access. I also work with cement, sand, plaster of paris, etc and used colored bucket on castors to store them in. I love 5 gal buckets. I like the dust pan gadget. I've never seen that. I need to get one. I also liked the 'table'. I could store throws in them. Thanks for the great ideas. Oh and you can get screw-on lids that are much easier to use for things you need to access often. They are more expensive, but well worth it in the long run.

I’m going to start with the outside lantern for our bonfire next weekend ❤
One little addition on the side table/ storage idea would be to add some rope to the underside of the lid. Make it the same diameter as the inside of the bucket so it lines up centered every time 😊
Thank you for all the wonderful ideas ❤

Shannon, harbour freight tools has a really good deals on their moving dollies sometimes. Everyday price is like 12.99. A five gallon bucket fits perfectly between the two pieces of wood. I created one for my husband to roll around in his barn. Nice thing about it too is you don't even have to secure it to the dolly. That way if you need the dolly to move something else you can just pick the bucket up off of it and then sit the bucket back on it when the rolling shop seat is needed again. My husband loves it.

The bucket with the wood top as a table is cute. I would consider, however, to maybe put something on the underside of the lid to keep it in place when on top of the bucket, to keep it from sliding around or off if it gets bumped. Maybe just some wooden half circles glued around the underside, just a few in a circle a little smaller than the bucket opening size.

Love the cool bucket! And the campfire light. Haven’t seen SKI in the stores here in suburban Chicago. Will keep a lookout

Cut a piece of pool noodle cut a slice in it and slip that on for a comfortable handle on your bucket.
