I wanted to thank you. You are the reason I have read most of these books. I find that you and I have the same taste and preferences in our reading. Thank you for opening up new and amazing stories to me.
I actually loved Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I dnf’d Zodiac Academy as the ‘bully culture’ was bothering me so much. I have about 75 pages left in Heat of the Everflame- I LOVE everything about this series. Thanks for all your videos, I get a lot of my recs from you!
Hot take... ACOFAS was amazing... I needed the time to breathe and see the characters happy after ACOWAR and it was NECESSARY to transition to ACOSF. The friend who introduced me to ACOTAR didn't read it and she had A LOT of questions about ACOSF that would have been answered by reading ACOFAS. I don't understand the hate that book gets AT ALL.
Love the plated prisoner series, acotar ,serpent and the wings of night and Zodiac academy is now my favorite series it just was so funny to me but it did drag book 8 was the hardest for me to get through. And I agree the high Lord's meeting is also my favorite scene in the entire acotar series. The once upon a broken heart series made me want to live at the hollow
Rain of shadows and endings writing was… been trying to pick it again, but lack the courage. And just finished Anathema, Keri Lake’s writing is amazing as always
I’m only on Chapter 5 of Anathema but the beginning gave me chills! The writing is so good and creepy! Idk why it was giving me voldemort/Harry Potter vibes
@@jazzy0959 it did give me the creeps! Just you wait! I really liked how we got to know them well. There is one thing that I need to discuss, but only when you’re almost at the end!!!!!
I loved Crescent City! I enjoy urban fantasy 😊 its been my favourite series this year I think. I've also binged the Kindred Cursed Saga and now wish I'd waited like you are as not sure how long i need to wait for rhe 4th book!
If ACOSF was edited down about150 pages or so I would rank it as obsessed, lack of editing makes certain parts drag a bit, but I love the house so much
I’ve been so nervous to pick up A Curse for True Love as I loved the first two books and I’ve been hearing not so good things about the last one. I want to read it but I’m dreading it at the same time.
@@AmandasBooktopia I think she said she was going to write another trilogy in the same world eventually 🤷🏻♀️ but I still wish she closed some things up in this series before she moves on
So many good reads! Idk if this is romantasy (maybe paranormal/omegaverse), but highly recommend the Ironside Academy series by Jane Washington. It is AMAZING!
Book 4 seems like it’s gonna be required for the final FBaA as well, plus even though it drops off a little in the middle books it’s is much more consistent overall
Am I the only one who liked acowar more than acomaf? I really liked acomaf don’t get me wrong I just was expecting so much more than I got. Inloved the training scenes but it felt like a build up to the perfection that acowar was. My all time favorite part was (spoilers) the spy part and her truly embracing her powers and becoming someone who could easily hold her own. Plus the romance was finally embraced unlike how it was essentially taboo in the first book and then she gets mad at Rhys and leavers so we don’t even really get the love until the last part of the book.
We may not have the same "book loves" but we definitely share a TON and you are the sole reason I own most of these books! Best channel for recs hands down. Just have to add that I am fully in agreement with Crescent City lol Her worst series in my opinion.
I did not like the Cruel Prince series at all. Also, Callie Hart announced the audiobook for Quicksilver is dropping soon. I just wanted to let you know.
I feel like you keep using the same books in these videos like SJMs books and other really large names. I love SJM, but I'd like to see new recommendations.
Mostly I am on board with all of your choices. That's why you're my fav booktuber. But A court of mist and fury is the reason I had to DNF ACOTAR series altogether. Tamlin faced the worst character assassination in history of fallen characters, whereas SJM constantly praising Rhysand as a misunderstood hero was cringe!! Like okay that guy is not the villain as we thought, but he isn't a nice person either. He kept antagonizing everyone outside of night court and then pretended to act like a hurt puppy in front of feyre. God it was painful. He would have had so many better allies in ACOWAR if Rhysand didn't unnecessarily antagonised EVERYONE there atleast once before. No wonder Tamlin and others never trusted him, he never gave them a reason before.
I agree with your assessment… SJM likes to destroy the hero trope and put the heroine with a flaw character that had a minor role in the first book. I couldn't read the second book in the series because I was just so upset with SJM.
(Spoiler alerts, please be advised)-Gonna have to agree to disagree on that character assessment. Rhysand had no choice but to put on that persona in order to maintain his cover to protect his own people and Velaris. Amarantha had him on a tight leash and if he let his mask slip for even a second she immediately knew he was up to something too “noble” for her liking. His own people, his dear friends would have been slaughtered if he didn’t play by her rules. His a-hole persona protected these people. He had to pretend to be like her or else people died. He didn’t have a choice. And Tamlin’s father murdered Rhys mother and sister and he stood by and did nothing. Rhysand had every reason to taunt and hate him. He also had Rhys own mate when Tamlin had Feyre. Feyre was mated to Rhys, not Tamlin. There’s a reason why everyone calls Tamlin “tampon” online instead of by his name. He did the wrong thing and hurt others 9 times out of 10 and didn’t care if he did. Things like that didn’t haunt him like it did Rhysand. And he hurt Feyre and didn’t care as long as he had control over her-that’s all that mattered to him. She wasted away in front of his eyes and he did nothing but control and physically abuse her. Tamlin left her bruised and locked up in the house like a concubine slave or something. Like a possession, not a person. She would have withered away to nothing living with him. I may not agree with some of Rhysand’s methods of manipulation when it came to Feyre, but he was eons better for her than Tamlin ever was.
Though I completely agree with your views on these books in particular...reading is absolutely subjective. She likes them and we don't. It doesn't make her wrong, we just really disagree with her assessment. lol

One of the best books I read is A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross. Such a good slow burn.

Also glad to hear Zodiac Academy isn’t worth it, for a while everyone was just telling people to push through book 1 and I hate bully romance so much
I have the same thoughts about the Crescent city series
Finally found a kindred soul with 4th Wing in a fantasy book rec/reviewer. I also really enjoyed it! Send out all your dragon book recommendations.
fourth wing/iron flame is just a fun CW show of a book.

I'm in the minority here but I thought Curse for True Love was just as good, if not, slightly better than the second book lol Guess I'm just weird

If you haven’t read the FBaA prequel series, the Flesh and Fire series, i HIGHLY recommend it!!! I love FBaA but i love F&F so much more!

a court of silver flames was gross. I was bummed out. especially when like you I loved acomaf and acowar

You dnf'd it so you really shouldn't comment because you don't know the story since you didn't read it.

I adore you as a booktuber but ugh how anyone can rank any Zodiac Academy or Fourth Wing so high, the writing was poor and predictable for me.
