I’ve been looking for a smaller amp in the 20w range. I’ve been going between a Deluxe Reverb or a Marshall Origin 20 trying to decide which way to go but now this is another real contender.
I was trying to find a deluxe reverb-like amp with an effects loop. I’m between this amp and the victory duchess, but the Harmony amp is half the price.
Hi, i have been veery interested also in this amp rather than a fender, I have The Marshall Origin 20 GREAT Amp ..."BUT" you only really get that Marshall Tone if you know what i mean , This amp first why i like it I'm looking for an American tone and this amp with the two 6L6 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes. and the Jensen speaker should deliver what i want ..Very Similar to the MESA Boogie California Tweed 2:20 BUT the Mesa is $1800.00 !!!!! @@mechmat12345 how so? They’re both 20w, 1x12, 6L6 (or in the Tone King’s case, 6V6) powered, both have tremolo and true spring reverb, the only huge difference seems to be that the Harmony has more gain on tap.
Tone king has weird mids in real life. I really could not get on with it. The harmony or a benson monarch both much better in my opinion. I own the Benson and also a hand wired Princeton but this sounds pretty awesome too at a very keen price.
The clarity and the transparency of this Amp seems to be inspiring the RUclipsrs demoing it to make real music using it, instead of just making some interesting sounds.
The way I look at it, with all of the features and sound, for that money, and like you I’ve got kids, it seems like a no brainer. I’d love a Princeton or the like but I’d never get to play it
HI, so what do you think about the difference other than the $1,800.00 price > Mesa Boogie California Tweed 2:20 Electric Guitar Amplifier 1x12 Combo Very Similar but the attenuator on the mesa is 5 settings ..that's nice...let me know what you think
In this video I am running the master volume at nearly max, attenuated down to one watt and, because I have the gain down, it's still very clean. You can get great cleans out of this amp even at higher volumes.
Great vid. Really great playing and soundscapes. Love the look, vibe, and features of the amp. But...can it keep up unmic'ed with a drummer in the garage/rehearsal room? I use pedals for overdrive/crunch. Thnx! Screw it. I can always return it! Haha!
@@markjohnstonofficial Agreed. I already have a Supro Jupiter reissue, a real 1965 (OG stamp) Tremolux piggyback, and a 1972 Sunn Solarus head. Do I need another amp? No. But...I played a reissue AC15 last week and was blown away with the HUGE rocknroll crunch (no pedals). Was about to pull the trigger on that, but then got an email from Harmony about today's Harmony S amp launch. So Ilooked for some deomos. Found you. Glad I did. Great player! AC15 or Harmony 20? @@tedcondo9884 Hey man, i'm between a supro amp and this 20w harmony. what would be your choice? i'd be my first tube amp. How would you compare these two? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
Mark, I saw your livestream a couple days back and could truly appreciate what you were doing with the pedal chain. I was wondering if there is a way to accurately measure signal loss at different points throughout the chain.
how hard is it to replace tubes or a speaker? I have been thinking about buying an AC15 or Deluxe Reverb, but for it having reverb, tremelo, and power reduction (that neither the ac or Deluxe have) it definitely has my attention.
I’m interested in understanding exactly how he’s using 0-1watt amps. That’s a fairly new concept for me and I’m having trouble with visualizing his explanation
Apparently the reverb is only tube driven on the larger H650 model. The H620 has spring reverb, but it's not tube driven. Listen closely to demos before buying one of these, the reverb on the H650 is rather weak and limited in use.
Hey thanks for the responses. Really helps. I think now for the money the H620 is the better choice. Don't like the idea it's made in China. But that does not mean it's build bad.
The great sound and generous, usable features on this H series of amps makes them very appealing. From the videos the reverb on the 620 sounds as good (or better) than on the 650. The 620 would be my choice too for several reasons. I wouldn't worry or appoligize about it being made in China or elsewhere. Harmony wants quality product leaving their factories. They don't want costly returns and repairs to come back and bite them, particularly now while they're rebuilding their name with these new line ups.

Great. Subtle for me (a notorious lover of giant reverb) but it’s great amp verb. I should have a more comprehensive piece on this up in the near future. Hopefully
I am thinking about this Amplifier allot. The problem I have is that most of my amplifiers are all fully handwired. I am still not trusting these chinese made amplifiers with PCB''s.
