The percentage of paid toilets all around Europe is so low that you'd have to be very unlucky to find yourself in a situation where the only option available is one of those. Yeah in America we sleep with their AC on and we sleep with fans on. I'll try to save money on air conditioning in the summer so I sleep with the fan on beside me All night Long instead of the air conditioning.
Actually in france when you are thirsty but don't have any money. You can go in a bar and ask for a free glass of water. You can also ask for a "café suspendu" it's some coffe already buy by someone else ( it's principaly reserved for homeless people)

Bars reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, which is usually meant to be applied to drunk people but can also be applied to minors even when accompanied by parents. Honestly, the beer we make and sell to the other 49 states is just the stuff we boil bratwurst in. Then we keep the good stuff that our European cousins would like for ourselves, or for when they come to visit, because they can handle it.
Let's correct one thing, though : in Europe, kids don't get full drinks, it's just a sip occasionally. In no country people would allow kids to have a full drink. Well, except in UK. Oh, and Poland. And I'm gonna shut up now
