Grace's vocals for this song is still my favorite . That being said , this is the best cover I have heard so far and I will be hunting out more of Sofia's post . These two + minutes were a bit of magic and I want to hear more .
I used to have a huge crush on Grace Slick when I was a teenager. I get a little randy when I hear this song, even today all these years later. I dropped acid before I got high on POT. I can't say before I got drunk, because I did get a little tipsy on wine when I was 15 and tripped on acid when I was 16. I thought the perfect acid trip would be to have Grace Slick appear in my bedroom with that white outfit she had on at Woodstock. I still like Grace Slick, but don't have a perpetual for her like I did when I was 16-18. She was born in 1939, and I was born in 1954. I am amazed on how she has survived so well. She is still healthy and engaged in life. Peace and love stoners.
I enjoyed that a lot. EXCELLENT voice! So "Gracy Slickish." I hope you 're in a first-class Airplane cover band. A few friends and I saw the Airplane at the Unicorn Coffee House in Boston @ 1967, when they were starting out - we didn't even know the band was playing that night - but, we were going into Boston, anyway. The Unicorn was a very small venue, with a few rows of folding chairs lined up on a side wall and a half dozen round tables. They ended up playing at floor level (no stage) about fifteen feet in front of us (only about twenty people were there, choosing to sit in the first two rows. Jack Cassady's Bass guitar rig was almost five feet tall and they were performing as if they were in Boston Garden, for fifteen thousand fans. "Loud!" would be an understatement. Playing for a mere twenty people didn't hold them back - I give them a lot of credit for that, though our ears were ringing for hours after. Grace Slick was mesmerizing, gorgeous and stoned (I'm pretty sure). She also turned out to be a real "character." They played all of "Surrealistic Pillow", almost an hour, counting Grace Slick's comments between each song. It blew our minds that we had our own private show. Can't forget it.
Thank you very much for the compliment and for the shared memory. It's a great pleasure to know that the song I chose brings back good memories, that's what music is, it has the magnificent ability to make us travel through time❤❤
I know you are getting help through the system but still very good. Grace is a very hard act to follow but you did well.
Just a totally addicting song and really well done by Sofia. Thank you!
