  • In this video I was with the 4 man team of Brian Strelow, Troy Wood, Jesse Wilson and Riley Kirkpatrick at Olympia Farrier Supply where they did a demonstration building Tool & Fullered Horseshoes. They're practicing for a World Championship Blacksmiths competition in North Carolina where they'll compete with other 4 man teams across the country.
The Tool & Fullered Shoe is made from 5/8" square stock steel and then ran through a block to create a section that is useable for driving a creaser into and then punched with nail holes. There's a lot of history behind this shoe and has been used for centuries across the world. It is a Hunter Style shoe that is now more commonly used for Field Hunting . Lot of work goes into these shoes.
    Hope you enjoy the video!
