So, Channel Street was illegally built by an amazing community of local skaters (and punk rockers) and was eventually shut down by the city (possibly because of liability issues?)
After several years of the community working to make it safer with upgrades funded by themselves, donations and a series of great punk rock fundraising shows along with the focused effort of city councilman and San Pedro native Joe Buscisno the park finally opened officially legal just this year.
The amount of work and the quality of work behind this community created DIY skate park is beyond incredible.

I live 15 minutes from fdr I go all the time they recently tore down the big like 12 foot halfpipe because of a fire. Now they got donations and built two cement halfpipes with a spine and it is BUTTER! and they resurfaced the whole park with extra cement and are still adding more i love the progress you gotta skate there sometime would love to see a video there no one really goes on youtube. Keep up thr great vids man love ya

That 5-0 around the outside of the bowl and level out to find a good landing trick to executing the right speed of a better timing to clear the gap between the other sides of the quarterpipe!

I saw a picture of concrete jersey barriers on the flat bottom of the blue section, like damn they care that much about people skating? Anyone gnarly enough to skate a place like that should be allowed to just on principle.

I wish my local concrete park would paint lines like that so I can see the curve better when I'm skating. To me, when I stare at concrete bowls it just looks like a grey cloud. I have no depth perception. Paint and some lines would fix that.

@Zach Dowdy did a video on this spot a little while ago I believe that goes into the history of the spot and the group fundraising/building it.
I heard they are trying to make that park an official city park for skateboarding. they definitely arent going to tear it down and destroy it from what I heard. It's also Daewons fav park, he used to skate there before it was even close to what it is now also he said that park is hard to skate has a big learning curve!Said it has a crazy layout and dimensions but not in a bad way. Just you could get hurt easy there it doesnt skate like other places. I never skated to there but I bet it is awesome! exp being under a bridge I always thought parks were cool that are under bridges 👍🏻. like that bowl looks like it almost doesnt even have a flat... well not much of one anyways. especially in the middle. imagine being in a car and looking over and just seeing someone doing a hand plant like that on basically a wall where he was doing it! they prob like damn that's nuts!
