We all used to be young and pretty. I was there the night that Myles introduced Brian. Yeah, I am old now. I miss you Myles. Rest in peace, my friend. Thank you for decades of amazing music.
David Pearl back in the day everybody and their brother knew who April Wine was. after nature of the Beast they failed to produce good songs and stay relevant. some bands simply run out of material
Apparently you didn't see the quotation marks around big ("big"). I am a big fan of Triumph, but they were no where near as big as Rush, though I believe they could have (and should have) been.
Seen them in Kamloops B.C. Canada, on this tour .Was the first concert I went to and I believe I was 14. A canadian band named Harlequin backed them up. Will never forget it. Always have and always will love this band.
So glad you and I were alive at that time in life and still are today to remember it I never was able to get enough April wine as a Young Man and thoroughly enjoy them to this day their music was timeless and how could anyone ever forget this simple fact I like to rock I like it you like it I like to rock
Judas priest have been my favourite band since 1978 to me they are the Greatest band ever and since Ritchie joined the band they have gone to another level truly amazing.
It's rare to have dueling lead guitars in a hard rock band. The OUTLAWS, THIN LIZZY, the Allman Brothers all had duel and Thin Lizzy had triple lead guitars.
always intune with these guys awsome 80s band grew listening to them at our highschool parties..mis those days no violence or roadrage and no school shootings..our parents found out we were up no good they took the BELT TO US....and that was it..
Yup,seen them in Kamloops B.C., Canada on this tour .Was the first concert I went to and I believe I was 14. A canadian band named Harlequin backed them up. Will never forget it.
Love this song Happy new year 2022 it's all over yes I went out last night and yes ,,, I walked out on him four weeks ago and I found someone new haha ,, this song came to my mind just now the bartender say us leave together last night so I'm sure knows small town it's all over ,,, town guaranteed,, true story ,,
We know how good we had it ... Brings a tear to my eye Knowing they'll never be any of what we had in the past ever again.... We did not realize how great we had it back then..
The sad part about April Wine was/is their management company who were terrible and never pushed them to the U.S. Effing shame because I put them as on par or better than Aerosmith. Their albums from the mid 70's up to the last one were very good albums but the 70's and 80's albums are the epitome of greatness. Love this band. They are one of my top 10 favorites.
@@OICU-go8bfwish I could have seen them before Myles ,,😢 passed rip❤❤❤ 6 -23-48 -12-3-2023 ..rock on Myles..we will miss you but we will listen to your music i will until I cant hear music anymore.. turning 55 this Thursday..❤
Yes ! 👍 🥁 ..He is 84 now. Has been dealing with prostate cancer since 1997. God bless him. So talented on the skins !! 🤘 🇨🇦 😎 🍻 2:45 and onward !!.... 😀
this is very different from their other songs, it's more like a punk/new wave song, sort of a cheap trick vibe too, really cool the way it's kind of unpredictable where it will go at times like in the break especially.
very solid live rendition of one of my favorite all time songs. It might be because it came out when I was 13-14 years old and just got my heart broken by some little girl? In reality, it's more true because this song rocks, has a fantastic goove, five guitars, a good lead singer, and a catchy topic. Song is so good, one would think they would have produced many others
Oh, hell yeah! April Wine--The Old School Jams! 1980's I had a killer 1971 Plymouth Duster and a very, "Naughty" , sexy girlfriend, who unfortunately---was all over town! LOL !!! MOPAR or No Car ….Brother !!
Super great band. April Wine, Triumph and UFO where hard rock bands that mixed harmonic vocals that just sounded great. Rush and ACDC took the vocals more in the blues rock tradition. Then hair bands came in and ruined it all because grunge soon took over. I saw April Wine in a tiny bar in Bend Oregon in the late 90s which was a great show but sad to see such a great band play for 200 people.
Yes ! 😃 The bass 🎸 player, at 0:54 ,, dark shirt/black leather pants. 👍 Was with April Wine from 1975 to 1984, for All of the Big 🎶 hits-albums-shows.🤘 He also did very well as a Financial Investor for his own company after AW initially fizzled out. 🤓 ... R.I.Paradise, Steve (1949-2017, 67, of Parkinson's Disease). 💙 🙏 🇨🇦 🕊 🍻
RIP Myles Goodwyn. A very underrated singer and musician in the rock industry. Your talents will be sorely missed.
Super bummed, learned of his passing today 😔
😍🎶🎶🎶🎶
He could play a guitar too, and wrote 75% April Wines songs .
myles goodwin gave me a free cassette of nature of the beast.
Thinking of Myles Goodwyn. What a great talent. April Wine is a special band. 2024
.. R.I.Paradise, MG. 😥 💙 🎤 🙏 🕊 🇨🇦 🍻
April Wine was a main staple of our crowd in St. Boniface in the late seventies and they rocked us til we dropped! Loved them and still do.
Takes me back to a better time in life....I wanna go there again
I hear ya !!
Me 3 ..🎉❤😢 🙏 RIP Myles what talent...nothing compares to this back then ...❤
Played Nature of the Beast to death my sophomore year. Terrific band... no dead weight, great musicians from an era when that mattered.
💪✌️,,,so Fkn good!
APRIL WINE RULES!!!
I know! I've got a massive erection!
Have loved this band since I was 16. 40 years later, still rocking to it!
One the most underrated albums of all time. Every song is goo!
We all used to be young and pretty. I was there the night that Myles introduced Brian. Yeah, I am old now.
I miss you Myles. Rest in peace, my friend. Thank you for decades of amazing music.
Myles Goodwin is a fucking beast--killer front man, lead singer, guitar player..Shocked they and him did not make it bigger
David Pearl back in the day everybody and their brother knew who April Wine was. after nature of the Beast they failed to produce good songs and stay relevant. some bands simply run out of material
Very true, Jeff.
The same could be said for Rik Emmett and Triumph. Another Canadian band that had enormous talent, but never really made it "big".
Trimuph never really never made it big ?? smh
Apparently you didn't see the quotation marks around big ("big"). I am a big fan of Triumph, but they were no where near as big as Rush, though I believe they could have (and should have) been.
When i jam to this, Im 20 all over again!!!!!
Yep. I’m 15 again
No kidding you got that right this is most definitely one of the song tracks of my life ..

Harlequin was decent too. 😁

Yup, i wouldn't mind smoking a doobie and having a few beers with him.
@@bigsky3072 LOL...that is the truth. I watched some interviews with Jerry Mercer. What a great, personable guy.
Jerry Mercer can bang and thud on anything and make it sound good!

Pure Rock at it's finest. Canada proud! 🇨🇦
IMHO THE NATURE OF THE BEAST AND HARDER FASTER THE BEST ALBUMS OF APRIL WINE, RIP MYLES.

some of the best shows of my youth forum the montreal crowd going insane
I appreciate the real music played by real humans back in the day
The most underated band out of the great white North.. they kill live.. Miles underated. I Like To Rock', Some Like It Hard Baby!
The One And Only Jerry Mercer! Love His Drumming!
He is awesome
Judas priest have been my favourite band since 1978 to me they are the Greatest band ever and since Ritchie joined the band they have gone to another level truly amazing.
this and "Wanna Rock" are my favorite April songs. So ironic though that their biggest hit is a ballad.
It's rare to have dueling lead guitars in a hard rock band. The OUTLAWS, THIN LIZZY, the Allman Brothers all had duel and Thin Lizzy had triple lead guitars.
@@bigsky3072 lots of rock bands have had 2 guitars...some even 3 like Black Oak Arkansas..but maybe the guitarists couldn't be described as dueling.

love to crank up the April Wine ... whenever I'm in "one of those moods" lol

Love this song. April Wine pretty damn good.
I saw them do this at The Iowa Jam, and the drummer from Foreigner (I believe, as memory gets blurry) sat in !! Memorial Day Weekend 1976 🤘🔥💯👀
The song didn't come out till 1981 and foreigner didn't start touring till 1977, so whatever.
