Stunning collection of Acers! I am a bit envious of their discovery of 'Pink.' It is an amazing contradiction with its delicate soft colors of pinks, whites, and creams and the rough bark that it's developing. Truly a stand out variety!
This visit to the private garden is very interesting. I saw many kinds of Japanese Maple, which are indispensable in Japanese gardens. I was so excited and surprised. The arrangement is well balanced and the contrast is beautiful. I was impressed by the careful planting management. Thanks for uploading your valuable video.
This is a stunning collection, and if i heard it right, they started in 1996, 20 years to have them this size, wonderful garden, thank you for posting this clip.
What an amazing yard. Wow. I just planted my first japanese maple tree for my 30th birthday today. I hope it does well! I still cant get over this yard... straight up amazing.
I've always wanted a lovely Japanese garden, (but I'm leaning toward more variety as far as permaculture goes). So far I have 1 lacy little lady... and that's how the collection starts! I've got a few other Japanese tree species as well, just scattered around the property for added interest. (A couple of flowering cherry, Cryptomeria, Kousa, Zelkova, & a Katsura. They're just babies, but it'll be exciting to watch them grow!)
What spectacular trees! I’ve recently gotten two small ones and planted in containers. I’m really concerned about over wintering. The containers are too large to move easily. How should I protect them?
The inscription on the lantern says "thou who smelt it, dealt it". Jokes aside I'd like to get my hands on that "pink" variety. Too bad they probably will keep it private.
bronze fennel try oridono nishiki or radiant acer palmatum neither have the ruff bark but the bark is variegated like the leaves in spots. Also when looking online remember nishiki means variegated hope that helps. Furthermore although not as showy as the ones I mentioned the butterfly cultivar seems to be the hardiest of all types, that is in my gardening adventures!
Huge genetic variability in Acer palmatum -- seedlings are highly unlikely to be identical to parent. So, if you want to get a certain variety, you graft from a known plant. If you don't care what you get -- grow seedlings, nothing wrong with that.
I started collecting Japanese maples last year and obsession is an understatement.
Beautiful garden!
The fact that 13 people down-voted this amazing video proves my theory that some people are beyond help.
jeffwads -- yes I agree, most of the people voted down this video must be Democrats if they live here in the USA.
That is absolutely amazing. I am impressed. Congratulations for this collection of Japanese Maples!
I'd give my right arm to have a garden of that size, it's wonderful, all that space! The maples are beautiful, lovely plants.

Gorgeous garden. Congrats to them.
Amazing!! What a labor of love.
I'm a 30 year bonsai hobbyist. I love Japanese maples. One of my favorites is Nishiki Gawa "Pine Bark" maple.
Oh well now I have extreme garden envy. In fact I have turned the colour of an Acer Palmatum Aoyagi! What a great video this is.
absolutely fantastic

So pretty! Did they ever get the pink variegated japanese maple into production?
I just ordered my first japanese maple so I learned so much from your program. Thank you!

It's cool!
Who rakes all the leaves? :) Very nice!
Excuse me what cane of soil needs a blood maple tree?
Id love some of those seeds. LoL boy oh boy .
WOW! Sorry to correct you but you don't have a 'yard', you have a 'beautiful garden'.
It isn't easy growing these trees in the Tennessee heat.
he seedling will not be true to the parents. Mos Japanese Maple trees are grafted.
@Frank Winkhorst Dumb question; why graft? Will a seed grown tree be less healthy or grow too slowly? I noticed people always seem to discuss grafts.

Beautiful but some consider them as invasive.
