Everyone making serious comments about his mentoring skills and I can’t stop thinking about how fine he looks with black hair in that all black outfit 🥵
His professionalism and attention to detail is perfect for this show. 1. Point out what's wrong. 2. Say why it's wrong. 3. Show how to do it properly. 4. Teaches methods on how to learn it better. 5. Gives 'homework' like do it 5 times without music 5 times with music.
Kun is really good, he is a perfect balance of someone who has top tier visuals, a really likable personality, and is very talented. He had one of the most dominant showings of any trainee amongst all of the produce seasons where he ranked excellently in all of the mentor evals (A Grade for both) and was consistently number 1 in voting almost every single week. It makes sense that he would be a great PD since he's both grinded for years as a trainee before becoming famous and has been through and dominated this survival show before. He also composes and produces his own music, and has a great eye for stage / live performance setup and design too!
I would add to that and say he communicates very well. He not only identifies the core issue but explains what is wrong AND how to solve it in a direct but fair manner. He’s efficient, effective, and is on par with Ella as a mentor. I have much respect for him.
@@clrwyl4655 True! Perhaps better to phrase I wish there were more PDs like those in youth with you. I'm used to survivals in Korea and Japan with many PDs who I love, but they were not as hands on as Lay + KUN. Still lovely people but maybe the other show's directors didn't build an environment for 101 PDs to work with trainees as much.
@@SheepEatsRamen bcs for the korean and japanese ones the PD mostly were not idols. Some were actors and comedian. They were basically only representation of the public. But when boa was the PD she did teach the trainee and LDW also gave mental encouragement to the trainees. While the trainers in korea were profesional trainers unlike what we see here, esp for dancing, they were famous choreographers/dancers/teachers but they didnt get as much as air time when they are actually teaching,only when they got mad then they got air time lol. Which is what the korean trainees said actually.
@@clrwyl4655 kunkuns style of teaching comes from lay a lot I'm really proud to see him become such a patient minimalist mentor which the trainees benefit a lot from, i think as an instructor that's a hard quality to achieve but kun has not once lost his temper or patience and has always gotten to the point of teaching without burdening the trainees for their mistakes he instead uses them to make them work around their problems.
Before this show aired, everyone criticized and bashed Kun. They said that he doesn't qualified or deserved to be the mentor nor PD of this kind of idol survival show. He might not be the best teacher, but he is really a great senior or friend that willing to help them, pointed out their mistakes and helped them to improve. Im so proud of him, and i really envious of these lucky girls having such a great mentor :')
@@miaomiao07 yep the general public opinion of him in China changed significantly and he gained a lot of respect for what he has been doing as the PD of this show. Lots of people outside of his fanbase are praising him for his professionalism and great character.

He understands what it takes to shine on survival shows because simply being talented is not enough. He shared how cruel entertainment world is to the trainees so they can prepare themselves to face what might come to them

Also, Yibo is around 20 or 21 y/o when he became a mentor too, same goes for Kun right now. Just my opinion. XD Kun is great.
I actually think Kun gives the best advice. He tells you what’s wrong, why it is wrong, how it should be done and why it should be done that way and he says it with concern. That’s why trainees told him he was so sweet in their live performance

This part really impressed me. Kun made a very good point to explain exactly where her problem was. What's impressive is that he knew how to put it in words too bc the issue is almost too detailed to easily point out. Once again his attention to detail and ability to put his thoughts into words so well leaves me amazed

I think that it's a really good choice for iqiyi to ask someone that been thru all these tough times as the producer to help the trainees as he had already been through all these. I feel that kun is really good in giving his opinion as an experienced idol 😻:>

With all due respects, I am puzzled by the emphasis of how much Lay influenced Kun. As I can remember, Lay only worked with trainees including Kun the night before their collab stage which was close to the end of the Idol Producer. Lay is a hardworking artist and a patient teacher too but I think that it’s unfair to exaggerate the credits.
@@cluo28 thats what aired but lay overlooked a lot of their performances and taught them how to improve their stage performances from as early as evaluation to theme song and to his collab stage. If you watch backstage clips or unaired clips for VIP viewers then you will see a lot more interaction between lay and trainees. He gave a lot of advice not just on dance but sometimes singing to during stage rehearsals and shared his past trainee experiences. Also kunkun looked up to lay a lot and always admired him so he was probably also a fan of lay before the show, but lay really inspired kun and it showed in idol producer because of how much kun appreciated and looked up to him.But up to you i believe either way we can both agree kun is amazing as a mentor and idol and his hard work and ambition is what made him the humble and amazing person he is today :)

Tongtong Huang I know that Lay is hardworking and Kun respects Lay a lot but I don’t think that it’s the reason to exaggerate the influence of him over Kun to the level of Lee Soo Man to Lay (just an example). In Idol Producer, when Lay was disappointed by trainees’ practice, he rushed in the practice room to scold them. Did he stay to teach each group one by one? Maybe he wanted to or he would have, but he was probably too busy or thought that the boys should push themselves more to succeed. Anyone who watched Idol Producers could tell that Lay and Kun are different styles of teachers. After all, Lay himself was trained entirely under the authoritarian system. This is not to say that he is a bad teacher though. But knowing how many years of training and experience that Kun has gone through before and after the 4-mth long Idol Producers, I think that each artist should be respected for their own achievement. Or put it this way, imagine Lee Soo Man's fans (lol) repeatedly left comments under Lay's videos by saying All thanks to Lee Soo Man whom probably is more entitled to. It is as ignorant as it sounds.
I never like younger boys, but this one is an exception... JU Chen is soooo cuteeee, I know this video about Kun mentoring her mistake, but honestly, I am just watching her throughout the entire show and thinking she is freakin' adorable. And I thought her hand shaking dance was super cute too even though she made a mistake.
Warm heart PD always pays attention to all details, included very tiny points and over points, then give trainees comments. That's what we love about him
I watched Idol Producer out of curiosity with Kun, and damn,I was so amazed on how consistent he is. On a side note,i also became a fan of Fan ChengCheng. Gosh i miss seeing the boys of Nine Percent
I've been watching Idol Producer the last couple days, and omfg you could already see his talents in that survival show, when he was the temporary leader.

Kun and Lisa are so alike while judging and commenting on the trainees. They give off cold mentor vibes but are actually quite bubbly. I've noticed that all good dancers and mentors are like that. Their personality takes a total turn but they still somehow manage to not come off as too cold or hard. Edited: wow...people be agreeing..

Kun is a really good mentor!! I’m happy to see more videos highlighting the other mentors besides just Lisa (as talented as she is!), and I think this is a good demonstration of Kun’s own strengths in teaching despite how young he is. It seems that his own training experience really adds to his ability to give solid advice, and it’s in a way that doesn’t feel harsh but is also very direct, with him even showing them how to do part of the dance. ❤️
[ABAJO EN ESPAÑOL] I think one of the reasons Kun is such a good mentor is because he also went through that process and they also explained to him what he was doing wrong when he participated, and he understands them. I have become such a fan of Kun since watching this show. He’s such a great mentor and such a likable human being. His songs may not be that good but his stage presence is nothing to scoff at. He dances well too and knows how to mentor the girls on how to be eye catching.
he experienced that before, he learned everything from the mentors before so it's really an advantsge to the show to have him since he can share his experience to the girls and also, his whole presence is just a blessing lmfao

之前从来没关注过蔡徐坤，这个节目是第一次看到他，必须承认自己刚开始第一印象是带有色眼镜看人了，一看到他的脸第一反应就是颜值达到这种巅峰水准的人不可能实力好，十有八九是比较水的，结果看一看打脸，竟然各方面都不错，不仅实力连情商都很高，也很成熟，脸年轻人却不是幼稚的小孩子，值得被信任做老师。
JU Chen is soooo cuteeee, I know this video about Kun mentoring her mistake, but honestly, I am just watching her throughout the entire show and thinking she is freakin' adorable. And I thought her hand shaking dance was super cute too even though she made a mistake.
Warm heart PD always pays attention to all details, included very tiny points and over points, then give trainees comments.
That's what we love about him
He's been through the program so he understands what they need to improve on better than most mentors in my opinion

I watched Idol Producer out of curiosity with Kun, and damn,I was so amazed on how consistent he is. On a side note,i also became a fan of Fan ChengCheng. Gosh i miss seeing the boys of Nine Percent

Kun and Lisa are so alike while judging and commenting on the trainees. They give off cold mentor vibes but are actually quite bubbly. I've noticed that all good dancers and mentors are like that. Their personality takes a total turn but they still somehow manage to not come off as too cold or hard.

Kun is a really good mentor!! I’m happy to see more videos highlighting the other mentors besides just Lisa (as talented as she is!), and I think this is a good demonstration of Kun’s own strengths in teaching despite how young he is. It seems that his own training experience really adds to his ability to give solid advice, and it’s in a way that doesn’t feel harsh but is also very direct, with him even showing them how to do part of the dance. ❤️

I think one of the reasons Kun is such a good mentor is because he also went through that process and they also explained to him what he was doing wrong when he participated, and he understands them.

I have become such a fan of Kun since watching this show. He’s such a great mentor and such a likable human being. His songs may not be that good but his stage presence is nothing to scoff at. He dances well too and knows how to mentor the girls on how to be eye catching.
