An excellent documentary of a very scenic highway. One thing to clarify: the section of four-lane highway between Vernon and Oyama (where Kalamalka Lake ends and Wood Lake begins) was built some 25-30 years ago. It's the Wood Lake section that was more recently built. The old highway along Wood Lake (now Pelmewash Parkway) was scenic, hugging the shoreline of the lake, but narrow and very busy as time time went on, and a replacement was overdue. Ironically, the new freeway section follows the route of the original wagon road through the area called Old Mission Road.

Thanks for the updated information. I didn't realize that, I thought the whole entire length of the highway was new.

@@kennypalermo9071 yup, this is just slightly north of where Asphalt Planet's video was. Very close, just about 10-15 min away from Kelowa.

Yeah I agree, the northbound route is slightly even more scenic than the south, not that the south is any slouch :-D

Amazing! I just love freeways in the mountains, especially by large lakes. This reminds me of I-90 in northern Idaho by Lake Couer d'Alene

Great work! Id love to see Peachland thru Penticton to Okanagan Falls. Vernon and Penticton areas are beautiful scenic highways. Doing the triangle from Penticton to Keremeos to Osoyoos and back to Penticton is incredible!
