if you get this error "shader is not supported on this GPU" then try install both of these and reboot aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
If i run the start batch file, the server doesn't show up nor does the second cmd window. If I run it as admin I get "Windows cannot find '7daystodie'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." Probably a stupid question, do i have to install 7dtd on my server pc as well? I followed step by step and this was my result. I am running my 7dtd game in the unstable beta version, which i wouldnt doubt has an affect on if i see it or not.
sounds like you dont have this c+ app installed

reboot before you try it again.
@@GreyTechLive :/ still no dice. Ran the x64 in my downloads folder. looked like it installed properly, ran it again and repaired it which seemed fine. did the same for the x84 and it prompted me to restart. Did that, and still the same issues.
My server pc is like a fresh set of windows 10. Its been updated, has the latest Java (cause I will also use it for minecraft server and I was able to get that up and running). I noticed I am unable to edit the batch files in Notepad++ but I assume that is unrelated. I work IT so i am trying to give you as much info as possible to see if you can help me resolve this lol

@@mahlonsandefur2518 dang that's really the only that what would stop you from starting it like that can you check and log folder? may add PAUSE at the end of the batch file so if any errors will show in the console. haha nice ya same here and no problem if you join our discord server might be easier for us to chat and see what else is going on put i would see what errors you get in the logs.

Backup your server config and your game data then run the same batch file you used to install it and will update the game files
what if u want to run experimental?

D:\7D2DServer\steamcmd.exe +force_install_dir D:\7D2DServer\7D2dvanillaexp +login anonymous +app_update "294420 -beta latest_experimental - Unstable build" validate +quit -beta latest_experimental - Unstable build is the name of the beta in the betas version in steam. seems to work for me so far. thanks for vid

try starting ur 7 days game up to menu, then starting server
