My favorite camera ever. Bought it used/mint 5 years ago, still my go to camera. 24mpix is sufficient. Design is beautiful and will never be outdated… such a pleasure to use. it has even become such a classic that I could sell it for more than what i paid for it… shutter is very silent. I will keep it forever 😊
same here. Used to have a M6, sold for the M8 and again for the M240. I always missed the feeling of the M6 but wanted the convenience of digital. The M10-D is the peak digital M to me. (also the lever works perfectly) I paired it with the summilux 50mm black chrome, that fits perfectly. This combo seems like a digital setup I could hande over my kids.
I've been shooting with the M10-D for around 2 years ,I've had many cameras over the years and this is by far my favourite ,I've just picked up a pre-owned Leica 28mm summaron f5.6 to go with it 📷
Such a quirky camera body!! I just cant give mine up! I took it to New Orleans with me and loved it...I checked all the images in the bars with a Abita beer.
Leica`s screenless digital cameras, in my opinion, are both one step ahead while at the same time one step behind! Depending on your preferences that is. I purchased the MD 262 to give as much simplicity and concentration on the subject instead of the camera. I was a film photographer for many years and the MD 262 satisfies that experience with the convenience of digital...!
I’ve had mine now for about a year, and it’s ruined me for any other camera. Its simplicity makes it so fast, even though I shoot fully manual. The thing I love about it is no buttons! I feel the ergonomics of all other digital cameras are ruined by being covered with buttons.
Rumor has it an M11-D is coming later this year so at the very least there’s that. I’ll have to save my rear end off to grab one because I know they’ll go fast and hold value
I do like the Pixii. It is currently in France being upgraded to the Pixii+. I likely would have preferred the Leica but it just isn’t in the budget when I already have 9 other cameras. The Pixii does provide the M10-D experience and the images are good. What I don’t like is that it is electronic shutter only.
Best desciption of the M10-D, Cris! By far the most enjoyable camera I ever owned. I love your statement "it is no gimmick", because it is not. It makes you more reflective on composition and getting the light right. Once you get used to it, you just love it. Pure photography.
Before anything is said I’ll say I want one and I wish I had that much money to spend on a toy, but it is a toy and it is a gimmick. As mentioned, you can cover a screen on another camera. If there’s an evf then use zone focusing. After all the draw is to “not know how it came out” right? Or use another digital M and cover the screen. If you want to reduce the clutter and you think it looks pretty is one thing, but to say you want to make taking the right photo harder to me is silly and sounds like a tennis player saying they’d like to exchange their tennis racquet for a ping pong paddle. At that point leica should just sell someone a camera with no screen, no rangefinder, and a blindfold for the ultimate skill challenge
Y’a but no. Did you try it? It’s not just a gimmick and it really does have something to it. If you can (and haven’t yet) give it a try. Maybe it won’t be any different to you but to me, it was. Cheers

now THAT'S a comment I like! Finally someone that doesn't complain about everything and enjoys the camera :) take care my friend

I believe you! I really really like it too! Nice on the summaron - great little lens. Take care

Right??
@@cris_photography although, on occasion I did use a Visoflex so I cheated a bit.
@CrueLoaf 😉

Very true!
Use it professional. If you are experienced, you know if the shot is good. Learned photography the old fashioned way ( analogue).
Exactly 😉

Man do I feel you… so very true! Gotta try it to know it - wykyk!
Thanks Cris! Well done, captured the magic really well! Enjoy the „testing“!
💪🏼😊
70th anniversary for M camera this year. hoping it is an M11-D or limited edition M3 design MP
Yes! Hoping so too!

If ever there was a “just for fun” camera to add, that is it. Great review!
Very true! Thanks 🙏
Leica M11-D is coming soon according to rumors. It might be a great choice 😂😂😂
I know right? Can’t wait 😉
A black paint m11d cool with the m11p internals
Would like no screen on a future SL3 camera.
😊 don’t think we’ll see that one anytime soon unfortunately
I have a Pixii - same concept.
Nice! How’s it? Don’t know much about that camera
I waffled between the two and got the D. How are you liking the Pixii? Have you upgraded to the +? Or are you going to?

Thanks for your message and can’t agree more with you: pure photography indeed! Take care
Le foto sono tutte sottoesposte
No - non Lo sono - ma è anche un opinione e punti di vista personali 👍🏼
I just got mine a couple of weeks ago, and it is the perfect addition for my M-A. Love them both. :)
Awesome!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts 👍🏼
There’s no real upside to this. You can always just 1. Tape the back of a regular M10
2. Just have self control and not look.
