Wow I didn't know how nice these boat houses really are and nice music to go along the video!
Very nicely done. My family had homes on LG from 1900-2017 and the most beautiful boathouse by far was and is the Bixby boathouse at Mohican Point. It is elegant and classic, and functional, never showy or gaudy... home to the legendary electric boat, the Saint Louis. She was as quiet as our steam launch - and far more sleek. Those were the days! Thanks for the memories -
do you know the family? im married into the bixby family, i dont think i recognize you
I’m in the family, im a hm
My children used to dive from the windows in the boathouse at "the big house" into the lake.
@@kirbyboltjes-johnson6122 I've known the Bixby family since childhood - but haven't seen them in a long time. My grandparents home was between the old Hoffman place and Fallen Arches. I suppose you didn't know the Hoffmans and do you know the Wolgins? Chuck and Peter Houghton and Peter Bixby knew my family. Peter and my sister Mary were together for years. I dated Chuck briefly, and I dated Teddy Deacon on summer. Aside from my grandparents place, we also owned Nirvana Farm and Tongue Eyrie. And how about you?
3:32 Had some memories in that Boathouse.
I just wanted to reach out from here in Toronto, to let you know how much I enjoyed this video of yours tonight! Beautiful! What a great way to be introduced to Lake George! I'll be coming for a visit as soon as travel restrictions are lifted! Bravo my friend!
Fantastic production and Music!
Was lucky to spend 21 summers at Woodhome. (4:01). The boathouse shown is not the original; it was rebuilt in about 2003. The original owner was the first VP of the Lake George Club. Georgia O'Keefe visited the house; at one point one of her paintings hung above the fireplace. In the attic my son found the oldest burgee (flag) of the Lake George Club, circa 1917 or so; the burgee now hangs above the fireplace at the club.
What a beautiful job you've done with this, Rob! Well done!
Very enjoyable. Spotted my Grandparents camp-- made my day.
This is a well put together beautifully done video. Great history in the beginning, wonderful interludes of pictures of the Lake and mountains, superior music throughout, and wrapping up with wonderful drone videos! KUDOS on a job Very Well done!
Really enjoyed watching- thanks for sharing!
Nicely done
Great pictures ... thanks for sharing!
Great video but you can speed up the frames a bit.
3:27 is incorrect. That house shown in 3232 Lake Shore Drive, Wikiosco
You missed Beckley’s Boat House a beautiful log cabin structure much older than some of these wealthy houses simple docks. Don’t get me wrong this is a great video just disappointing that got missed.
I was hoping to see the 3 slip log cabin boat house just South of Sabbath Day Point that my grandparents had built. Maybe it will be in the next video.
A wonderful video...at 19:45 you show a beautiful old yellow church - where is that? Thank you.
You skipped the boat houses that are just south of Sabbath day point just before the lookout. There is a nice 3 slip log boathouse.
THIS TRIP REALLY BROUGHT MANY MERORIES TO ME.
Anybody else stay at Carey’s Lakeside Cottages?
Nah fam I stay at the bixby house it’s literally mine bud
no two are alike - that's not made these folks rich - it's what would be bankrupt them. Ask Mr. Ford
I like the images the the music is so annoying!
religion has always been a money maker: you don't have to had over anything to the suckers.
If it were up to the Lake George Park Commission (LGPC) and the Adirondack Park Commission (APA), all of these beauties would be torn down. They consider them an eyesores and an abomination to the natural shoreline of the lake. Environmental-wackos gone a muck!
Permits for new ones are still being granted. A few have just gone up this year and over the last couple in our area. Cleverdale on Harris Bay.
