What's going on, everybody? I hope you enjoyed my quick thoughts on the OnePlus 6T! There is a lot more to say about this latest phone and I couldn't cover everything in the short time I've had with the phone so far. Look forward to my full review coming soon and enjoy your tea, everybody!
Good job on this one! I definitely think that One+ has the best looking notch setup going on. Pricing is aggressive and I think that is awesome for someone just getting into a phone with this generations hardware.
Joshua Vergara your videos are awesome but this phone is fucked i mean same shapes as Vivo & Oppo phones. Not a single change in design and boring black colour
The OnePlus 6T is meant for people who don't own a OnePlus 6. It makes no sense to upgrade from the 6 to the 6T. It's been the same for pretty much every OnePlus T device.
@@quintana831jj Nope. You gotta find the right spots. First time I focus only on the flat side of the fingerprint and I get it 'scanned until the setup finishes, which means that it gets scanned pretty thoroughly. Then the second time I focus on the edges and again, you're gonna provide the sensor with a lot of data because you've got only the edges that are now scanned. Doing this thing in 2 steps assures a pretty detailed scan for both the flat surface of the fingerprint and the edges, instead of doing it once and having tiny missing spots or they're not properly scanned due to the limited amount of taps in one scan.
It actually worked, my indisplay fingerprint was missing soo many attempts and was taking time to unlock, registered twice your way and now it never miss and unlocks in milliseconds.
@@bokinoki Exactly. A lot of reviewers came to the conclusion that the FP sensor is not very reliable and doesn't always work properly because they somehow never thought about registering 1 finger twice. It's a bit annoying seeing them quickly judge something based on a fast drawn conclusion, and this is available for any other type of tech. Anyway, the more data you supply to the sensor, the better the accuracy, of course. Phone manufacturers should notify their users to do what I said here. It would teach the ordinary user a very easy thing that can make a huge difference.
But teaming up with T-Mobile is really going to get that phone company into the mainstream. And the price. OnePlus do real well in America this go around.
Being with T-Mobile, it makes me happy, but once they get more recognition, I feel like they'll start charging more. Wouldn't surprise me to see the One Plus 7 in the $700-800 range..
Great review man👍 thanks for showing photo samples. So many other reviewers just skipped that part because it has the same sensor as the one plus 6. Keep it up.
Initially I bought the OnePlus 6 but returned it because rumors about the 6t started to emerge. What I didn't like about the 6: battery life was ok but not great and as a heavy user, I get really anxious when it drops below 20%. The speaker sounded tinny and even though it got loud enough, it was fatiguing to listen to music for longer periods. Also, the under-display FPR was really intriguing me so I returned the OnePlus 6 and started waiting patiently for the 6t. I am sort of happy that I waited because it seems that most of my concerns were addressed: bigger battery & improved speaker. On the downside, they removed the notification LED and I don't know how I'm going to manage without that (not the end of the world). I never used the headphone jack since I bought a pair of high end wireless headphones so i can't say that I'll be missing it. Can't wait to finally ditch my old galaxy s7 edge because the display has a ton of burn-in and the battery life (while surprisingly good for it's age) makes me very anxious during the second half of the day.
"Do you think that the OnePlus 6T is a proper upgrade? Is it something that you would want to get if you had the previous model?" No offense Josh, I really like your videos! But I feel a question like this is always posed in videos and it seems kinda impractical and/or irrelevant. I just picked up the OnePlus 6T today coming from the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I am super impressed with the performance of this phone. I am probably the key kind of person that should be switching to the OnePlus 6T.
I had the LG G7 and at first I didn't like it but after about two day... Wow, this thing is amazing. I am super happy I got this OP6t. The speed is amazing, I never knew Android could be so fluid.
If I had the OnePlus 6 I don't think I would go for the 6T, just not enough difference to justify switching for me. But between phones like the Galaxy Note 9, Pixel 3 XL, Mate 20 Pro, and the 6T it would be a tough call for me. Ultimately I feel I would go for the Mate 20 or Note 9, but if price was an issue I would be perfectly happy using the 6T. It's a lot of value for your money and the trade-offs aren't a deal breaker for me.
No, you're not the only one. It's a deal-breaker for me. I've mentioned this in the comments section in other reviews, and others have pointed out that there are apps out there that can do the job by using the screen to flash up an 'LED' notification. But I want hardware, not software. And, like you, I'm actually not too worried about the headphone port. I can't remember the last time I used the one on my Oneplus 5, anyway.
Same here. But amoled phones don't really need a separate notification led. That's what the always on display is for. The notification light is more of a relic from when android phones had lcd screens, so a seperate led was required in order to not waste battery.
I'm "upgrading" from the 6 to the 6t just for Verizon support. All of the other differences didn't play into my decision at all, although the larger battery is a nice touch.
If I already owned the previous 6, no. I never buy midcycle units if I owned the previous version. But never owning one.. YES... in fact I just got mine in the mail and I love it.
I was on iPhone for so long until now. The 6T is what enticed me to finally make the switch back to Android. I got tired of constant bugs in iOS that went under the radar as well as the creeking (and not skyrocketing) price increases of all product lines, so I finally wanted to switch. I love that this phone has many of the features I looked for in the likes of the Galaxy S9 (the first phone I tinkered with thinking about going to Android for) but at a much more affordable price, and as far as that notch? Can we talk about that teardrop? That thing is such an aesthetic that I don't even hate having a notch. I think if you compared a non-notch phone of similar stature, this thing would look BETTER simply because they actually though "hmm...let's make our notch look unique and like it flows with the design."

I have had T models - 3T and 5T - and I didn't upgrade to the 5 and the 6. Those half increments are not enough for me to upgrade. I am waiting for my 6T to arrive. It was supposed to arrive Friday but the delivery driver decided to be stupid and lazy. So now I have to wait until Monday. No headphone jack doesn't bother me because i have been using Bluetooth headphones for awhile now. The only issue is did One Plus fix the codec so that I can talk on the phone with my headphones on? Right now it is not possible on my 5T.
I strongly and very strongly believe the display and finger print scanner of OnePlus 6T is same as of Vivo V11PRO. And i believe Vivo V11PRO has better audio than OnePlus 6t
@@markalvinchua Yes I check them almost every week in Ayala Mall, Cebu. The same old answer ''they are waiting for a delivery from China''. I really wanted a Oneplus 6 because it's the last model with the head phone jack.
I think oneplus is always a great device, but sacrificing the headphone jack is the only thing I can't "digest" since iphone 7 came out.. 😅 just.. why? there's nothing terrible or bad in keeping a headphone jack in every smartphone..
I’d think twice before letting apps access my fingerprint. I mean, security of “on device only” fingerprint might be bullshit, but you don’t have to give it away to every idiot in this world.

I will definitely add this to my industry leading #Note9 as a backup device.
Note9Is Boss Note 9 still runs the older version of Android with no current security patches to speak of.
I love how ur still using that username 😂
@@coxb29 And it's easily the best all purpose handset on the market period. If you can't afford the Note line you buy the lessor Android offerings. Samsung Electronics is technology and Android worldwide nothing else matters today.
@@reallyryan_ It's to legendary now after all these years. Everyone knows who I am based on this and many other things. OnePlus6TIsBoss comes next 👌
@@note9isboss767 I've seen you many times lol
are these gestures really smoother and better than the ones on the iPhones?
Comparable but iphone has that little pill underneath for better app switching which i think should've been put here on oxygen os. Copy what improves efficiency not trying to be different for the sake of being different *cough* Google *cough* 🙄
Removing the headphone jack removes options. May be good for some people, but I'd rather have the option. I use the headphone jack every day, so it wouldn't be good for me.
Just going to say I was waiting for the 6t to come out but the X’s max got me first.
Headphone jack is more important than a big battery, underscreen fingerprint and every other feature that would replace it
I have a 5T. Though tempting, I will probably skip this one for now.
I want this phone ... But I won't be upgrading from my OnePlus 6 yet. I'll wait for the OnePlus 7
The red OnePlus 6 is the same price on eBay, has the headphone jack, and will also get night scape. I have the 5t and can't decide
Would you recommend switching if you are on the 5T?
Yes. But if you already have 1+6, don't.
@@Zim___ Thanks for the reply and your input!
I might get this. My s7 is beat all to hell and I wasn't sold on the pixle 3 this seems like a good alternative though I may wait and see what this announcement is all about that Samsung is supposed to have in November
Joshua Awesome review really enjoyed Oneplus is definitely a great device said in past built like a Beast.Always Special to me back to Invite days.Hope you are doing well and everything is going well.Appreciate all your hard work Deb 😉👍✌P.S.Nice Numbers creeping up there no shocker here.😉✌
What's the flying game called at 5:20 on the video?
I think it's HAWK..
I don't know why this phone doesn't appeal me anymore. I am currently using OnePlus 3. I am planning to upgrade to iPhone XR.
How good is the display of OP 6t compared to IPhone xs
Used wired headset only once in the whole year. I dont really miss the headphone jack tbh.
I only needed stereo speakers and I would have considered it instead of a Pixel 3.
Battery life is probably going to be good. It comes with the type-c earphone with a dac according to the keynote, would have been more convenient, but it isn't a deal breaker.
Do you have to turn the phone on with the button to use the fingerprint scanner?
What's the game you played?
Wish you mentioned the bumped up battery
"but at what cost?"
"everything"
How is the speakers?
New customers yes....existing oneplus owners no...main difference bigger screen (slightly) bigger battery and no headphone jack.
It a beauty
What about the speakers? And the rating for the water and dust resistant?
No stereo and no ip rating but splash resistant ⛲
Damn fast.
I strongly and very strongly believe the display and finger print scanner of OnePlus 6T is same as of Vivo V11PRO. And i believe Vivo V11PRO has better audio than OnePlus 6t
How about releasing the Oneplus 6 in Cebu City Philippines? I'm sick of waiting because I want the head phone jack.
Have you checked Digital Walker, they are the ones who carry the One Plus brand in the Philippines?
@@markalvinchua Yes I check them almost every week in Ayala Mall, Cebu. The same old answer ''they are waiting for a delivery from China''. I really wanted a Oneplus 6 because it's the last model with the head phone jack.
Oh sad to hear. It is highly likely that they will not get much stock or at all since 6t has launched.
no headphone jack - No purchase.... fur me at least. thanks for the video!
Rip headphone jack 1876-2018
How does the fingerprint work?
I think oneplus is always a great device, but sacrificing the headphone jack is the only thing I can't "digest" since iphone 7 came out.. 😅
just.. why? there's nothing terrible or bad in keeping a headphone jack in every smartphone..
Will Android apps that have finger print support function with the OP6 finger print reader or just with bigger name phones like Samsung or lG ect?
I’d think twice before letting apps access my fingerprint. I mean, security of “on device only” fingerprint might be bullshit, but you don’t have to give it away to every idiot in this world.
I won't upgrade to the 6t, I'm happy with my 6 and will not buy a phone without a jack. I'm sure there'll be good alternatives if I want to upgrade
This or v15 pro?
Cool phone😍
David So 🤘
bro, that red oneplsus 6t cover, can you link that as well?
