Thank you Goofy575 for posting these interviews. I have loved Michael since the first time I heard him sing but I've never had the chance to see him perform live. It's wonderful seeing things that we didn't get to see in the states and to see what a lovely, kind, humble man he is.

His humility probably makes him a most outstanding character, the way he describes buying just 1 cigarette coz he couldn't afford yet a whole pack, or that he truly appreciates being housed in plush hotel suites when he became a big star, or that he'll never forget where he came from, these are traits that put him high up there above everyone. An impeccable human being who deserves every good thing said about him. May he be in good health always.

He was presented with the CBE, not a Knighthood (shamefully!), so we cannot rightfully call him "Sir" Michael. A title he so richly deserves too! 🤬😠

I knew Michael when he was 17_19 a very genuine person ,always asking about my life .Good company ,lively,he even sang to me and cuddled me./kissed.

I've spent a good chunk of my life absolutely heart -broken over never even getting to see him live and what compounds my part of the story, is that when POTO was coming to Broadway, I'd been learning Christine's part as vocal exercises from my teacher, almost 1.5 yrs; who'd given me the album of the London cast. Anyway, always loved the book, where my birthdate appears in the text. I'd been "in love" with Cornelius Hackl since I was 11 (1981), and never knew he was an English actor. NO WWW in those days. Then both he and his character helping my voice like Christine's too. I couldn't figure out why the "Phantom's" voice was so familiar being a now more mature "Cornelius."
THEN after I graduated high school in June, 1988, I was included in a NYC trip and I was going there to audition for Hal Prince, for ANY role in the show. But hopeful since I was her actual age at that time of my life like in the story and my legal first name is only one syllable off hers.
Sadly, circumstances beyond my control left me unable to go and I was crushed! I can only imagine what a genuine and lovely person he really was back then and still must be.

(PS: I was worse once I'd seen Barnum, also a subject close to me bcoz when I was 8, the Barnum and Bailey circus was here for there weeks and I tried to hop their train and run away with them, in '78. Too many connections for me. I want to send him a letter. )

No I'm not mentioned in his book,I was 13 _15 and met on the Isle of Sheppey,my aunt lived round the corner from his dear nan .I still have a letter and photo of us ,autograph .genuine good guy ..Sounds like you have had an interesting life ,with a few disappointments.Lets hope he gets back to good health .😄

Neighbors with him and his Nan. I know through his interviews just how dear she was to him and that she died just before Phantom opened. I'd always wished she could've seen him although I have also imagined him singing MOTN so she could hear him.

He is a very WELL trained singer, who never stopped music lessons. That is to say, while he was still performing, whether on film, stage or concert. No clue about now.
His voice has always been so heavenly, even from his Hello Dolly days. Gosh, I remember when I received my 1st copy of the POTO album (well, CD), since there were no photos of him outside the stage makeup AND being older, his voice deeper since the HD days, I felt SO ashamed that I never put 2 &2 together. I'd been singing and humming all his HD tunes, my entire childhood and teen yrs, and especially since I was a child/teen actress in all our school plays n musicals. I really REALLY felt ashamed I didn't realize my Cornelius was also my Phantom Erik! (SIGH!)
