Can't undrstand born in 384 bc and died 322 bc
How is that
Plz explain
BC years are counted backwards (Like negative integers)
In simple terms he was born 384 years before Christ and died 322 years before Christ was born. It will be counted down till the birth of Christ. Then start with A.D 1. Now we are in A.D 2024
Mam pls clarify my doubt..classical period starts from 1750 .. Aristotle was born 384 bc..how can we say that he belongs to classical period
Neo classical is different from Greek classical... U urself search for the period which period is Neo classicism
its not "twice". its "thrice' removed from reality. pls focus on the details. we are lit students and these things matter a lot
Ok, but u could also be a bit soft with ur words.
According to Plato's theory of mimesis (imitation) the arts deal with illusion and they are imitation of an imitation. Thus, they are twice removed from reality.
It's twice removed from reality
.I think first you should ' focus on the details 'before criticising someone
In some book poetry as an imitation of an imitation,TWICE removed from reality and had called poetry "mother of all lies".
Over smart huh?
Thank you mam
