I remember doing prints in art class in high school. I loved doing it, made a bunch of cool T-Shirts that way. I think you've inspired me to try my hand at that again!
Amazing video!!! I had been watching "Yates Makes" videos on print-making and was considering trying the jelly block thing. But the last part you did on lino cut print reminded me that I really used to like lino carving and printing. I really appreciate you putting all those printing processes into 1 video. Again, really really great video👍!
Thanks so much Holly! I found the Yates Makes channel a little bit after my attempts with the jelly block. He does such interesting stuff with it compared to the usual image transfer (which I still haven’t had success with). It had been a while since I had done any linocuts as well. And now I can’t wait to do more!
Thanks Lindsey! I was pretty fond of it too! Sadly, I’ve already botched the medium per month! Ahhh I just want to try too much. I can’t hold back on the printmaking stuff because I loved it so much. 😆
Cool video to see you experimenting! I got a gel plate recently and love it for making textures and shapes, but I couldn't get magazine images to transfer.
I need to try it out for textures! I haven’t gone back to it because I was so bummed about the image transfer thing not working. I don’t know how people do it. They must be magicians!
@@jasonelambeth It does look like magic, so effortless when it works, ha ha, but I love it for textures, patterns, stencils... I'll stay tuned in case you try again 😃
@@jasonelambeth that’s awesome. I’ve always liked the idea of custom shirt designs. Though I’ve never actually done anything about it. Maybe knowing that you can it the way you shared will make me finally do something about it.
@@drewmorris349 Lol I've kind of always been the same way. I've always wanted to do silkscreened shirts. But, I'm super intimidated by the process and don't want waste time or money on supplies. This was definitely a happy medium.

Dude, you gotta do it! I find the carving process to be a nice way to chill out. Put on a good video from I Love Recording and get to carving.
@@jasonelambeth I've added the stuff to my amazon wish list. I'll see if I can find the stuff in some local hobby shops first though.
@@MikeFoerster I’m pretty for sure that Speedball makes a nice all in one starter pack with everything you need.
@@jasonelambeth Yeah, found one online at a local hobby shop. Thanks again!
@@MikeFoerster Excellent! Have fun!

That large print was 🔥! I'm so into this one medium per month journey!

@@sketchbookscheming this conversation is giving me the much needed motivation to pull it out again!
Did you use any special sort of paint/ink for the tshirts?
Yes! I used a specific “fabric block printing ink” made by Speedball.

I bought my wife a linocut printmaking kit a few years ago and I don’t think she ever even opened it.
Tell her to get on it. It’s so much fun!!
