I was literally just telling my friend I am about to go and work on my color theory. Then I hung up the phone and got a notification for this. God is good. Thank you Chris.
if you know what you're doing and could make it work. If you don't, better to keep it more simple. it's about the end result anyway, no one cares that you used X amount of colour if it looks like rainbow eyestrain simulator 2000. Art has no rules but you could always make it look more pleasing.
Sure, there’s always exceptions for everything. And I’m all for breaking the rules whenever you want. These were tips to help people who are struggling with color choices.
Loved a few videos from your channel already, so I subbed to learn more about animations. I always loved doodling and I started adding animations to my YT vids and I think it can separate me from other creators a little bit. Can't wait to learn more techniques from you brotha.
Key takeaways: - Just when I was jonesin’ for another Chris & Chris show, this tasty morsel shows up. - All this time I’ve wondered who you yell at off to stage right… mystery solved. - Fun fact: your Skillshare on Fresco animation is the reason I signed up for Skillshare & I gave that golden nugget a re-watch over the weekend, can’t wait to check out the new one. - greenphantomblahblahblah is a bit of a killjoy huh? He’s that discarded character from Wizard of Oz who’s missing a sense of humor. Please don’t listen to him. The masses have spoken. We love the Chris & Chris show. - I love pubbles.
Chris, I have something to tell you…Your dissociative personality disorder is getting worse. AND I AM HERE FOR IT! 😂😂😂 Love the “new” style of editing. It feels genuine. Also, I wanted to thank you for all the time you have put into your channel. I’ve been experimenting with your style, and feel like a piece of my art style puzzle has been found. You’re a gentleman and a scholar!
@@chris-piascik having fun is the most important part! I just started doing a street shark rendition of your Kappa art using the RSCO brushes. I’ve loved using constraints to stay focused on the art… and not all those other silly necessary things
I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pen. So way over 30 years. The thought of having an iPad back then, infinite paper and limitless colours would have seemed like a dream, so the biggest challenge isn’t technique as much as it is learning to hold back. Colour theory is next level.
Hey🙌🏻 Thanks for sharing this video😍, i like all ur videos, i am new to fresco and i am following each and every video of urs Just wanted to know, can we import affinity designer's vector design into fresco?
Great info but I was wondering what you do when getting your files printed - I’m used to working in CMYK but it’s not an option in fresco. do you convert the file into cmyk in something like illustrator ? And if so how do you avoid colours changing in that process.
your other you is *quite* hilarious!😂if it doesn’t make your *braincellz x-pload* too much, do you think you can *add more of your moving cartoons* in videos too? when you add moving cartoons like the popcorn, it *helps me concentrate* on what you’re saying better. *another example* is when ur discussing fresco, like you sometimes have the *cartoons talk as you* if that makes sense.😂😂 but i will say, your videos are getting so good! omg! and you’re almost to 50k! -jamie
in the i have no idea what i am doing part. i saw the eyes first then i saw the text i read i have no idea i am doing and the i find the what . just saying that to tell you that the red color surrounding the what is easy to lose. and i saw the nope at the end
You will be nice if you do a video for finalizing design on Adobe Illustrator or photoshop tutorial for dummies like me because when you do the tutorials you go to them fast😂 they are some dummies over here who wants to learn Count Me In Coach😂🙏🤓🤓🤓
Thanks for the feedback. I do plan to do some simpler videos in the future. IN the meantime this may help with the the Illustrator stuff: ruclips.net/video/F2oV-vtUXlA/видео.htmlsi=R7uy1rynX2s9o882
@@chris-piascik Lol...49 here and I just broke out the skateboard... Your doctor says he doesn't want you to get injured, but he probably won't mind the income ;) Thanks for the quality content btw!
Nah, I do too. I just don’t like the desaturated colors he chose for the left. If his limited color pallet was had the same reds and greens of the first one I might feel differently though. Tbf, I also sorta disagree with the premise. Maybe a limited color pallet is his art style (and mine tbh) but I think letting the medium having more of a hand in the work is sometimes cool. One of the advantages of digital art is the wide range of colors and the ease of changing them.
I agree for the most part, but the point I was trying to make was that being intentional with our color choices will lead to better work. It doesn’t have to be a limited palette, but maybe starting minimally can be helpful. Ultimately you’re right, these are my preferences and there’s always exceptions to every “rule”.
I see why this works but remember, if you follow the rules your work will look like everyone else’s. Finding out which rules you can break and when it is appropriate is what all the greats did. If somebody didn’t break some rules we’d still be making flat medieval style paintings. Go break some rules… selectively
In the video I give lots of suggestions for different ways you can use color, nothing is a defined prescription, but rather broad things you can do. Sure breaking the rules can yield great results, but some things just don’t work.
Yo Sir, you got some skillos. Interesting for me is the design process. Methodology. Come up with the juice and the brainpower. Maybe you can cover a session of digging deep into the mushroom power…
Thanks! I do have a bunch of process videos where I talk about my thought process. I do that on my recent x-men + ren and Stimpy video. There’s also some videos that’s that go from sketch to final where I talk about that stuff throughout.
Not going to lie, the weird ass random side crap makes your videos damn near unwatchable. Like every time you almost make a point, one of those things just completely interrupts the flow of thought and blows your point completely out of the water. It’s a shame, because you’re clearly sharing useful, important information, but you’re so concerned with being hilarious, that you’ll willfully ruin your own point just for the haha’s. It doesn’t make your videos funny, it makes them a waste of time.
I was literally just telling my friend I am about to go and work on my color theory. Then I hung up the phone and got a notification for this. God is good. Thank you Chris.

Action stunts, humor and a sprinkling of illustrative tips of gold. This channel has it all Lol this was a great and informative video. 😅
Haha thank you 😊 😊
Honestly I found the stunt cut-ins a bit annoying, I think there were too many of them. Or perhaps I'm just old.
Honestly, I appreciate your honesty. Sorry I annoyed you.
I don't agree on limited colors, in the right genre, go color crazy!

10:23 i think the "incorrect" image on the left is clearer and works better. 🤷♀️
That example was more about the value of color vs the line color.
Thanks Chris, incredibly useful advice and great tips.

Haha thanks! I think in it's day it could have, but that plastic is from 1987.
ANOTHER great video! Thanks.

Excited to check out you Skillshare. Also:
1 . Great tips. Thanks!
2. Great pop. You ride BMX?
1. Glad you thought so!
2. I did for many years, not so much anymore as I had a shoulder injury that makes it difficult.
