Excellent and accurate info and observation about the real and actual world of making things. I grew up around machining, die making, stamping and deep drawing. Your vid is perfect and I rarely get to say that. Thanks for educating!
Thank you Joe, we look forward to any and all Aptera accessories you produce!! Chris Anthony mentioned, in one of the CES videos, that the hood solar panel is the only one in glass. The others, while functional, have been laminated in plastics. I assume this is due to 'gorilla glass' not being available in the larger sizes and shapes until contracts have been established, but that is just my speculation at this point.
@@gmv0553 "Gorilla Glass" is the proprietary name and product of Corning Glass, but Aptera is using the same thing from another company, which is why I put the term in quotes.
At 7:24 you are correct, that is a radiator. One of the Aptera engineers I spoke with here at CES yesterday confirmed it. There is another just like it on the passenger side of the vehicle and each are connected to new exhaust ports in the underbody panel. They are located to each side of the rear wheel skirt. There is also a new underbody air scoop located centrally ahead of the rear wheel skirt to supply air flow to these radiators via a wishbone shaped duct that wraps around the leading part of the rear wheel scoop along the underbody.
Thanks Joe Interesting info! Nice to chat in between your investigation and recording at CES Day two showed the growing crowds of supporters and newbies. I love talking to them and felling the new interest along with the long time supporters. I wonder if Aptera gained any free range from this energy 🙏. Re aftermarket items … Coming from a sunny state I will tint my doors windows be sure to learn of best care for this first vehicle that will some many hours under the sun . Care products too to protect my investment. As a reservation holder of the earliest vehicle I am all about OEM preservation but if I add or subtract the OEM build.. Those changes should be easy to return to original state. But folks should enjoy their ride I look forward to what you bring! All the best !
Thanks for explaining the various production methods' pros/cons for the P.I. parts - many people are not aware. It was great to meet you at the unveil! Look forward to the accessories that you'll have available!
Accessories I would like to see: a small but very bright rear fog lamp, mounted low on the trailing edge of the rear wheel shroud. "backpack" style magazine/map/ misc stuff carriers which snap onto the seat backs just below shoulder level. A lightweight and compact as possible spare tire and jack set with a place to mount it in the interior somewhere. maybe behind the driver or passenger seat? front springs to allow a higher front payload than the current 300 lb. (maybe up to 500 lb.? ) a second wiper to clear the right side of the windshield, so I can see my 2 o'clock in really bad weather. (this is a long shot, I know)
Wish list: 1. Input port and internal cables for easily connecting additional solar panels directly to the vehicle DC solar charging system when I’m at home or if I want to travel with a portable panel or two. 2. Heated / cooled seats.
EVA Foam that can do additional sound deadening over the bare Carbon Fiber. Still want to see how quiet it is but would prefer a carpet like surface vs the PI bare Carbon Fiber setup.
I seriously they will be using those dampers in production. Those are KW motorsport units and quite expensive as compared to a regular damper. Plus the rear has an external reservoir on it. Plus they are not designed for everyday use vehicles. I'm guessing that they are using them as they are just going to wing it when it comes to figuring out the damping and spring rates as opposed to just sticking it on a shaker rig and then that would literally accelerate the program by leaps and bounds. Hopefully the track version and at least one full version will have shock pots on it.

Aptera is not using Gorilla Glass! Chris indicated that in a recent video.

Thanks for your technical insights. I don't know enough to provide my own opinions, I'm just fascinated by this super-efficient vehicle.
top notch little presentation! Keep up the good work.
Nice work! Great insight!

If you’re going to be a new biz I’d suggest a better microphone and perhaps a different room for your videos.

I don't know where you're from but you pronounce radiator weird. I'm pretty sure the radiator is like a motorcycle radiator.
Aptera Accessories LOL! The Aptera doesn't need any Accessories since it's a scam that will never produce a vehicle for sale!
Since you can see the future, what stocks should I buy?

You wouldn't know a legit EV effort if it bit you in the ass.
Go buy a Canoo.
