There is so much that is AMAZING about this game that the music does not get mentioned enough but damn the score on this game is such a treat. And the VA they did recently goes beyond AAA quality
About the music, Sea Power has released an album last year with some of the tracks from DE. It's a treat. Like the whirling in rags music but as a pop rock song.
The voice overs are honestly my favorite part of this game. Almost every single character has life in them and you can tell the actors cared about and understood the context of the lines 100%. I wish I had a good voice or even knew how to get into VA work because this game makes it so fun
Damn, I was REALLY hoping for a fail on that "run away from paying 130 for the hostel room" check. It's so much better than the success haha (if you're curious what happens: SPOILERS) You run away, except you dive backwards and flip both middle fingers at Garte. Then you crash into Lena.
This happened to me, I had already injured myself from turning on a lightbulb. So failing this check meant that the double middle finger injury was fatal for me and that was game over. A very glorious way to go out though

Disco Elysium is easily one of the greatest CRPG's of all time and it just makes me so happy that the genre has made a comeback with several games that have been great already. A lot of that has to be thanked to things such as kickstarter which has allowed several projects to be made such as Oblivian's pillars of eternity, or pathfinder kingmaker. This genre is so deep, but I feel Disco Elysium innovates on the genre and truly differentiates itself from any other in the genre.
@@lewdwig when I say one of I leave it open to everyone to rank. I just know it belongs at the very top, some people from the crpg genre may not like disco/planescape's dialouge heavy gameplay as much as something like Divinity or Kingmaker

Mapo, I don't know if you hear this often enough in your day-to-day life but you are so fecking smart. You piece things together like a genius. Seeing patterns, solving puzzles. It's part of what makes your blind content so good.
Always fun to watch a detective game playthrough by someone who's good at deduction. I enjoyed Anthropolokitty's playthrough for the same reason, they had an uncanny ability to figure things out with only vague clues.
I was vary, thinking he must have heard to not turn on the light bulb before he started playing but considering he kept making smart decisions, he really just put 2+2 together there.
I'm really enjoying your play-through. You pick up on details most gloss over -- like how Garte boasts to Kim of the many cafeterias he manages while when you talked to him before he said it was only three.
The Whirring Rags theme when you first step out of your room and also when you head downstairs is my favorite. It's one of my listen and chill songs I like to listen in full.

I'm a bit late, but I just got the game and completed Cunos sidequest several hours ago. Even with high Psyche early on, I ended up using drugs and save scumming to figure out wtf his deal was. Even after that, he's one of my favorite characters in the game so far.

DUDE so excited to see you play this. Something I really respect about it is that people tend to assume that Intelligence / Psyche lead to more interesting playthroughs, but due to how the game works, you get just as much dialogue and cool stuff if you go dumb as a rock, it just has a huge effect on your character's personality, how you see the world. It makes a second playthrough way more fun than I thought it would be.
One of my all time favorites as soon as I played it…..it’s a truly unique expirence! Didn’t know all the juicy new QOL, new content and voice acting added in final cut, or that there’s even be a final cut, but definitley makes a great game even greater playing through it the first time with all the improvements and new content!

In my first playthrough I went full intellect, average in motorics and shitty in psyche and physique, and put my signature skill on Encyclopedia. Basically i was a bookworm with good perception of my surroundings but really bad at talking to and understanding people, and weak as a fly (just 1 hp). Sometimes encyclopedia was useful but some other times would give me the most random, useless piece of information about things I didnt care, man it was fun. And I died by turning on the light at the beginning ahahah
Damn, played this one 2 months ago. Such an incredibly original experience. Especially for someone who's studied psychology it's an absolute joy to play through.

You are so good at analysing the themes of games and picking up on the intricacies of the lore and Disco Elysium is PERFECT for that. If I could give you some advice for this game, it's try to unlearn the fear of failure. Sometimes failure is the better option. Also get ready for a 150 episode playthrough lmao 🤣

wow, I recently got back into DE again and looking for people to watch. I love how thorough you were! I was doing work while watching this but you were too interesting to be watched at the second monitor lol. It's like re-experiencing the first time I played this. This is gonna be a lot of fun!
Oh, I see now I was playing the game wrong. I was looking for the most expedient paths, and ended up not having a place to sleep on the first night because Kim insisted the crime was the most important thing, so I focused on that and didn't try looking for money. I was avoiding choices that seemed illogical or impertinent, but there's no actual way to predict that, since a weird question can sometimes get useful answers, or get punished for what I *thought* was logical
Too late for my reply but there isn’t any punishment. The game does its best to make up for it to the point you can live in the trash can. The worst thing that’ll happen is death or people think you’re the biggest asshole. Good luck and don’t think you’re wrong.
This game is pure poetry and whom ever they got to do the soundtrack is a absolute musical genius. I can really see this game becoming a movie in the future and there's two actors that would fit these two characters profile perfect! A few of you might be able to guess the two actor's I'm referring to!
Man! I've played this right when it came out, and it became a candidate for "best rpg ever" in my book. Coincidentally, I've just started my 2nd playthrough a couple of days ago, now on the Final Cut myself. Now I don't know if I should prioritize doing my playthrough or watching yours... :D

Two thoughts: one of the devs is really a writer, the making of is an interesting story. Apparently this world started as a pen and paper campaign. Also I don't know where you are from but plastic bottles are worth 25 cent here, quarter of an euro and many bored old folks or poor people collect them actually.
I'm super late to the party....But it seems like no one ever gets this even later in the game. So if you figure it out on your own I'll be really excited. It took a couple mentions before I figured out what they meant...But esprit de corps is saying he's your half brother because he's a cop but he's from a different precinct.

wow, I recently got back into DE again and looking for people to watch. I love how thorough you were! I was doing work while watching this but you were too interesting to be watched at the second monitor lol. It's like re-experiencing the first time I played this. This is gonna be a lot of fun!
Oh, I see now I was playing the game wrong. I was looking for the most expedient paths, and ended up not having a place to sleep on the first night because Kim insisted the crime was the most important thing, so I focused on that and didn't try looking for money. I was avoiding choices that seemed illogical or impertinent, but there's no actual way to predict that, since a weird question can sometimes get useful answers, or get punished for what I *thought* was logical
Too late for my reply but there isn’t any punishment. The game does its best to make up for it to the point you can live in the trash can. The worst thing that’ll happen is death or people think you’re the biggest asshole. Good luck and don’t think you’re wrong.
This game is pure poetry and whom ever they got to do the soundtrack is a absolute musical genius. I can really see this game becoming a movie in the future and there's two actors that would fit these two characters profile perfect! A few of you might be able to guess the two actor's I'm referring to!
HOLY SHIT disco elysium is one of my favourite games of all time and i really liked your half-life 2 playthroughs, im really hyped for this

Coincidentally, I've just started my 2nd playthrough a couple of days ago, now on the Final Cut myself. Now I don't know if I should prioritize doing my playthrough or watching yours... :D
Man, I had to put your Dragon Age 2 playthrough on hold, cuz this... this is probably the best game I've ever played. Transcendental and life-changing for me. And I have a whole thing ready? Damn.

Successful & failed skill checks can be equally hilarious - if you failed that check when running away from the manager there is an epic escape attempt! 😂 Look forward to watching you continue this.

Screw it, I'm rewatching your letsplay of this although I finished it only a few weeks ago because you're genuinely the only youtuber so far I've enjoyed playing this game lol you put in a lot more emotion and interest and i guess some type of vulnerability to FEEL it than most youtubers i've tried. thanks again for this playthrough :)

Two thoughts: one of the devs is really a writer, the making of is an interesting story. Apparently this world started as a pen and paper campaign.
Also I don't know where you are from but plastic bottles are worth 25 cent here, quarter of an euro and many bored old folks or poor people collect them actually.
I'm super late to the party....But it seems like no one ever gets this even later in the game. So if you figure it out on your own I'll be really excited. It took a couple mentions before I figured out what they meant...But esprit de corps is saying he's your half brother because he's a cop but he's from a different precinct.
