    You did something no other DIY video has done. You hooked your battery charger up to your new box and showed your battery taking a charge. Good job.

    Great diy video. Exactly the setup I had in mind and appreciate the detailed wiring walk-through.

    First, THANK YOU for putting this DIY video together. I’ve had 2 Gheenoe’s since my life. (They last forever and perfect for my type of fishing) As time has past, I’ve noticed more of a need for the trolling motor battery than just the trolling motor and depth finder. I grew up in central Florida, and somehow i associated live bait with losers/those who into catching not fishing. (My apologies to anyone I offended) I was plastic worms and crank baits in the phosphate pits, mirr-o-lures and jigs for snook and redfish along the coast or Everglades. All the above was great when you could go fishing all the time, but living in Atlanta now, if I get 3 weekends a year back to Florida I’m lucky. So, as I’ve gotten older/smarter, I’m going to throw anything to make those 3 days worth the drive.
    The Gheenoe now is basically powerless. And I have “1st World” problems. I want an Aerator. A USB charger. If things go poorly with the motor and I get stuck after dark, Nav lights. A Manual bilge pump has never been needed. A 44oz cup has gotten me through since the late 1990’s, but if I’m going this far, I’m adding a bilge.
    You sir nailed what I thought could be possible, but I didn’t know how to get it done. I even made it as far as doing a search for “Smart Battery Box”, but none were exactly what I was looking for. YOU NAILED IT!
    I don’t care if I have to do this twice. (One Deep Cycle 27 for the trolling motor and depth finder and one smaller Jetski sized battery for the bilge and lights. (Odyssey makes a great battery at this size)
    Thanks again. And the instructions on how to put it together couldn’t have been easier!

    Great video. If you had to do it all over again, is there anything that you would change (ie. larger size battery, larger size box, heavier/lighter gauge wiring, etc). I am looking to add a Watersnake trolling motor to my kayak, so I am looking for ideas on powering it. I am not sure if I want to run two separate batteries - one for the motor and one for the fish finder and accessories.

    Hello, I need to build a box for my 12v 200ah battery to power an haswing PROTRUAR BRUSHLESS MOTOR 1.0 12V 50A 600W 65lbs. I was wondering if a 50A circuit breaker would be enough or should i use a 60A instead.. I have also checked the fuse block specs and they max out at 75A is there a fuse block you would recommend me using instead? Thanks in advance for your advise

    Great video! I'm building the same box with basically all the same components but I am very confused on how you got the 6 fuse relay wired to power on off with the switch. Where did you run the ground to the relay. I cant make it out in your video. Any help on getting my box wired correctly is much appreciated.

    • @big_bone_fishin
      @big_bone_fishin  Год назад

      So from the positive side of the battery I went to relay. Then from the relay I went to positive side of the 6 way fuse. On the negative side of the battery i went to the negative side of the six way fuse.

Sorry electrical wiring is not my strong suit obviously lol

      @big_bone_fishin  Год назад

      I posted in the description all the parts and the Amazon links, you can calculate it from there. This box is specifically for 50ah max, it all depends on how long do you wanna be on the water for and what you’re using it for. I’ve been on the water for close to six hours with my trolling motor and this box and no issues at all.
