Steve Vess was the guy that had a show called “The Swamp Chat”. He seemed to be a really good guy. He played harmonica some with The Allman Brothers Band in their live shows. He used to post pics of him playing onstage with them in their younger years as well. From all accounts, Steve was the real deal as far as being a straight up guy and hanging out with Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, and knowing all of them real well .He told the story of how Ronnie came up with “Gimme 3 steps”. Steve said he was actually with him when it happened. He tells the story of them going into a bar called the “Little Brown Jug” and Ronnie asked some girl to dance and she danced with him and this guy walked in and caught Ronnie dancing with her and pulled a pistol out and stuck in Ronnie’s face. He said this guy was dressed like a biker and pulled a gun on Ronnie and Ronnie put his hands up and backed up and told the guy that if he was going to shoot him, he was gonna shoot him in the ass or elbows and he walked on out of the bar. He said that Ronnie was real shaken by it and was trying to calm down and he said that hey, I think I can write a song about this and Allen started trying to get a rhythm or riff in his head and said yes, I can hear it like a band marching, and evidently this was supposed to be true. I may be wrong, but I believe that he mentioned them going and meeting Gene Odom but I could be wrong. It’s been a long time since I heard that story but it is on RUclips. Look for “Seamp Chat” and/or Steve Vess. He was just an ole hippie but a very humble person. He put out a lot of Skynformation too. His channel never really got big, but I do believe that he was a genuine friend of Ronnie in the bands back in the day and of course he had proof that he had played on stage with the Allman Brothers. He had a picture of him playing harmonica at one of the outdoor shows, it’s cool. It’s worth checking out.
What a sorry azz thing to do to an ORIGINAL crew member, a friend of the ORIGINAL BAND, a plane crash SURVIVOR. Can you imagine the roar from the crowd had they let Craig in and introduced him on stage! Craig would have gotten a standing ovation. There aren't many Skynyrd ORIGINALS left, and they all should be treated like Skynyrd royalty! THEY are the reason this tribute band has a job. If I had been a member of this tribute band and I found out they did this to an ORIGINAL, I would quit the band right then and there. I am so thankful we have Craig, Mark, Leslie, and the other ORIGINALS that share their time and stories with us. THANK YOU for all you do.

I cut my finger with a boxcutter 2 or 3 years ago, had to go to the ER, they did wrap it up tighter and that finally stopped the bleeding - Thank God. I was there for 9 hours and they were able to just use some glue on it ... the hospital somehow sent my bill to a collection agency, instead of billing insurance - $730. for a few drops of glue !
Just as a life long fan of Skynyrd & Blackfoot , I would love to see Johnny & Rickey go back to a solo band each . I would be supportive of them, like Craig said it's not them the issue is with current management. ✌🥴Jimmy J

I was at the show. We wondered down from parking to the road back stage. We saw Elwood around 3 PM. He was on the road. We then went into the show but no one asked for tickets. They searched our chairs but never asked for tickets. Now be aware that the band never arrived till late. ZZ Top was just finishing when the busses arrived. It was around 8 PM. They also were gone 10 min after the last note. Craig if you had tried when the band was there it would not have happened. They did not know you were there because they were not there. I live in Manchester and was shocked how late they arrived. Billy Gibbons was there all day and night. I think the Clay Park people were the people responsible. They have no clue what they are doing if I can walk in no tickets? Craig just talk to the band they can tell you what I saw. You at 1 pm was too early as it 8 hours later they arrived.
Craig, Please, please put all your movies together of those Skynyrd yrs & We all would love to buy a copy how ever it's released. & Fuck what the naysayers about any profits made & where it goes. It's yours Sir & damn well earned to do with what ever you wish. ✌🥴 Jimmy J
The whole premise of this band is to continue and to preserve the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Nobody right now is any more of a legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd than Craig Reed. To deny access and even worse, to not acknowledge his presence is to turn the current band into nothing more than a money grab.
To me,...Craig and all survivors are Rock Royalty,...and just plain good people, ....and should be treated as such. Fact: Craig was a Trusted Friend of Ronnie Van Zant,..and he did'nt trust everyone.

The powers that be who perpetuate the name Lynyrd Skynyrd are living off images and reputation of men and women most of who are no longer with us. I don't think they should be calling themselves that name with no original members. If a group of musicians want to tour and be able to perform those songs...fine...but stop calling it LS....It's just a money grubbing entity and nothing more. It's not like the music those people try to create is really from Ronnie,Allen or Gary...it's just folks making songs and living off someone else's identity. People are using that name and logo to get rich...but it's hasn't been the true LS since 1977. Even during the era when there had been 2 or three people still performing...it's not truly LS.

You can read on the net how diffrent People say things like "Ronster monster", Ronnie the thug , Ronnie was a bully and more like that.
