As likely as anything. Honestly, it's just as likely that not everyone at Hasbro is even in agreement with this direction, hence the switchup from introducing a pro blaster to the N1 stuff.
But hey, this stuff takes time. We'll see how long it lasts

The new ammo isnt 'mastery' other brands have iterated on the original design and made better darts that work on original blasters. You know how this, stop acting

The bottom line, is that a lot of us just don’t want yet another new ammo type that isn’t backwards compatible, even if it is (slightly) “better.” We also don’t like the esthetics of the new blasters, and smart AR just doesn’t work well once darts start getting worn. I don’t see myself getting any of these.

Long story short, I’ll be returning the Ward. Not because I’m a petty prick, but because it sends a message. Probably not even going to need a long form video to say what I have to say. 60 seconds might be enough but the sentiment aligns a lot with what you’re saying!

I think you’re right. I see a lot of old Nerf in these. The designs and colors of the N-Series are vibrant and simplified, with their chunky, rounded edges, aimed at family fun.
It seems Hasbro is intentionally distinguishing the N-Series from the soon-expanding Nerf Pro line. I still wanna see the N-Series shoot half length darts though, if anyone can mod ‘em. 😎

What if...Hasbro accepted that they lost the elite and half dart war to companies like Dart Zone and XShot. So the only option was to ride hard on their brand recognition, put out a proprietary dart that was in its own level, and basically just start over. No more elite darts from nerf? That's putting ALL your darts in one basket, but it might work. As a side note, Ultra was launched right at the start of Covid and the Ultra 1 was a shitty blaster. So it was DOA

This was my first thought when I got my hands on the blasters and darts. I felt the N-1 dart was very much an in-between. Taking inspiration and compiling what we've had before in the casual space from Hasbro!

About the new series. Nerf is testing new ammo just to catch people and make another exclusive series. But you know is part of their business ideas. So let's them try again and let the market speak. 😂
I beleive the move is risky because this toy market since some years ago is still alive because is easy to get ammo for the blasters. The Nerf dart ammo is technically "universal". Also it is being proof that there still space to improve classic Nerf ammo with cheaper and better performance alternatives.

the thing with all of these exclusive dart lines is exactly because they're trying to be exculsive.
it's very alienating because for many, compatibility is a very important thing for the community.
making a key part of the system only exclusive to a certain party, that being nerf, (or at least making it so other people will try to hop on the bandwagon) is verry obviously an attempt to try and seperate itself from the community that it created, and thats simpily not cool.
i get that, like you said, this is a very good choice in business and innovation.
but those things don't change the fact that they have been really disruptive with previous things and have tarnished their reputation all in the name of capital.
this does look to be a right step for nerf, lets hope they continue to make good decisions!

I'm very curious to see how the N-series dart flies at high velocities. Hasbro was obviously uncomfortable with the half length dart, they didn't yell it separately from the Strife-X for like the 1st six months of the Strife-X's availability.
The elite dart needed to be phased out and I believe the reason they went with something completely new is because someone at hasbro still had faith aspects of the Ultra dart and hasbro wanted to do something different and this what I suspect is the ultimate reason behind their decision and that is to not follow in the footsteps of their competitors.
Hasbro has done all they can with the elite dart. They won't adopt a variation of the waffle dart because they didn't recreate it.

My thoughts on this theory, are that this is pretty much what I assumed N-Series is. I personally have a theory that N-Series is what the designers at Hasbro, wanted Ultra to be, but they simply didn’t have enough time to perfect the dart. The lighter than an elite, but bigger than a half dart, N-series dart, also allows Hasbro to produce blasters that can shoot at velocities comparable to an X-shot white and blue blaster, and even some adventure force blasters, on a global scale. This is because the N-series dart was made to follow all the regulations from other countries that adventure force and dart zone can’t get around, because of the weight and velocities of their dart.

I don’t have a “take,” per se, but I do have some thoughts.
I’ve never even held an N-series blaster, but I do watch several other nerf-tubers on this platform. In their videos on the N-series blasters, i don’t know, but something felt hollow, and I don’t mean the dart. Yeah, they perform better than standard elites… but I didn’t get the same “rush” (for lack of a better term) from hearing the blasters fire.
I also wish that the N-series darts were still Ultra caliber, because I like using Ultra. Firing an ultra dart DOES release a smidgen of serotonin in my head, and I love using them in the wars I host for all of their crappy glory. Getting a series that wasn’t Ultra, but still worked with Ultra would have gotten me on board without any hesitation.
On a less deep note, I’m not a fan of the design for N-series. The color choice just rubs me the wrong way, and the shells look like they’d suck worse when painted up.
Overall, I don’t know how to feel about N-series. I’ve never held or used one of their blasters, and I’m not eager to do so.
NNN, you’re doing the internet a service by saying something positive about N-series. I’ve seen enough South Park to know that once one person says something bad about something, the rest follow soon after like a flock of birds without thinking. Positivity is a wonderful thing to give to people in any form, and to repeat myself, you’re doing good work. Have a good day, for you earned it.

So, you're saying it was aliens, right?
But really, loving this line thus far as...has nerf ever been honestly "serious" outside of the pro and 3d printed lines?
That's why I love the original nerf blaster more than 3d personally, as that was where the *fun* of modding came in, making these fun things actually viable in harder play. I didn't learn modding just to be able to rattle off the differences between 3S and 4S, or print materials, I did it to get inside something I enjoyed from my youth and make it into something truly respectable and my own. I've got hopes for Hasbro for the first time in some time.

The biggest problem for me is the dart accuracy just isn’t any better. The change isn’t the problem it’s the lack of actually being better. Is it really better if you still can’t hit anything plus having to buy proprietary ammo? The part that is really bad is they have made very accurate 50 cal. Foam darts but chose to quit and make garbage darts then decide to change them completely bragging about wind tunnel testing only to find the are only slightly better than the crap they were making. All this and you can buy darts that are accurate for your old blasters and buy other brand blasters that already shoot 80-90fps with 50 cal. Darts accurately.

Can’t help but agree with this take. I’m touching on a lot of these points on the Ward review (if I ever get to it), but my biggest takeaway was that the Ward shot better than the Infinite or the Pinpoint, which makes ZERO sense from a physics perspective. Why does a $5 blaster perform better than a $20, or $40 blaster, respectively? I can see why they changed everything, but I can also see how it won’t work out for them. Big time excited for DZ Nitroshot though.

I still kind of fail to see how this benefits hasbro. especially as they are doing all the same things that made ultra fail. Like... you might be onto something with the choice of making ultra but foam. But I think that fall apart quickly when you consider hasbro made the elite dart and made the 50 cal foam dart the absolute standard. This standard is the standard regardless of who's playing and for what reasons, when companies have challenged that in the past they've failed.
And hasbro is trying to challenge the norm with proprietary darts and bland as anything designs. Yes there is much to be said that it's great these look lmore like toys with bright colours and sleek, Also baby-toy liek designs that make them super unintimidating. But at the same time the designs are super boring, no detail anywhere. It's like the shells are the bare minimum for ergonomics and internal function. Like the Spyrmakes yeethammer looks nothign like a firearm but it looks cool as hell. I'd buy six of those if I could afford them (and they were available for purchase right now).
So I can't say this is a super wise decision on hasbro's part. Becuase which would you pick up? This strange colourful mess that uses proprietary darts for 20 dollars or something with a better colour pallette. Cool design, hits just as hard and comes with darts that work in most other blasters **AND** works with darts you may already have.

    • @blendervendor2220
      @blendervendor2220 Месяц назад

tl;dr I don't see how this is good for hasbro. Separating yourself from your own market is not going to give you more market share in that market. This doesn't have much to offer against other things on the shelf for the same price.

I think there is a significant difference between Ultra and N-series, for me is Ultra flawed for their target audience (enthusiast) but N-Series ist fine for their audience (kids) so we shouldn't put them in the same ballpark. Also i think the market share problem is more a problem in USA but not in other countries. In my country there are almost no competitor, only X-Shot exist there and most people only know Nerf here and i think it will transition there without much problems.
