My Bifrost 7600oc crashes and is unstable stock as it attempts to boost up to 2900mhz. Setting the power limit up to max then reducing voltage to 1170 and setting max frequency to 2660 seems to solve this. The listed max boost clock is rated for 2655 so why does AMD try to make it boost up to 2900 sacrificing stability. Or did I get a crappy silicon lottery?
@@jordanash No I bought an Acer factory refurbished, it has warranty, but I'm stress testing it at 2660mhz, still above the 2655 that is on the specs, and as long as it runs fine here I will end up keeping it, as I like how it looks.
@@asterhias this totally fixed my issue. It was on my end. But....... If you are running a ryzen board make sure your chipset drivers are the newest ones. But don't go to AMD instead update according to what board manufacturers make and model. I had the latest generic and chipset drivers and this was causing the issue on my end . I checked against the manufacturer and sure enough it was outdated.
Oh, I just realized you have a room thermometer on the table, seems like we have almost 20c of difference - I'm living in the tropics and currently having unusually toasty weather. I was wondering how you get such low temperature with this GPU running at default settings.
Unfortunately for you, I didn't actively do anything to keep it cool, it just runs that way. I'd just get a case that has a fan very close to the GPU, or get a very high performing fans.

Maybe to the 7900XT, don't think the XTX though. Also some cards (like the one I covered) are factory overclocked anyway and don't have that much headroom to play with.
I dont think there a better budget 1440p card than 6700xt that card is gold best value for money card in the wholr gpu market and after fsr 3 it gets even better
Personally id go for a refurb 3050, you can get them for 150-180 bucks and it can do 1440p max settings on cyberpunk at 60fps with other budget hardware

You can't on that model unless you open and disconnect it.

Hmm that's odd, I don't believe mine tried to do that, so maybe it was incorrectly set at the factory. Did you get it new?

Only reason I'm buying this because the 2 slot design. GPU these days are unnecessarily thick.

In my review the the frames per dollar were identical, so you'll just get the percentage of frames to the extra cost, if that makes sense.
