As a Norwegian, I got to say its funny how similar Liam Neeson's demeanor is to Norwegians. Like he is very uncomfortable about bragging, and when asked how he is doing he isn't doing the usual American: "I am great!" or "Awesome!" or whatever. His response is very much like how people his age would respond to such a question in Norway. Great guy by the way. Really like him. I was just struck by the fact that people in Northern Europe have a lot in common despite differences. I have been to Ireland and people there are really awesome. They really take time helping you out. Very easy going when talking to them. One of the absolute nicest people I know in Norway is an Irishman.

All these guys in the US wanted to take him on this big road trip and where all fired up about all the cool stuff they were going to do and people he could talk to. They didn't realize that the author was nothing like they hyped him up to. He was not a good conversationalist. He was socially awkward and basically stumbling through life. The great oddsey they thought he'd write ended up as a hilarious piece about how everything went wrong and how his hotel toilet got clogged and his desperate and failed attempts at fixing the problem. It was a very instructive read, because it both demonstrated what an awesome writer he was but also how helpless he often was in the real world.
