How long do they sit after dipping them in chocolate?
Note: a little trick to make sure you don't get dull chocolate or a white bloom on surface (yes, years ago that happened to a batch I made before I knew the trick). When you melt the chocolate, don't melt it entirely. Melt it until ALMOST melted and then take it off heat and stir it. It WILL be melted, but it will retain being tempered, so it will retain its shiny-ness once set! Pros know this trick and add tempered chocolate bits to their melted chocolate to be sure it is perfect. If you buy chocolate chips, they are tempered and when you melt them, take them to the stage where the bits still have a chip shape but start to look shiny. Then take off heat and stir.

My dear this is exactly how they should be made, bits and mixed together. I am 60 years old and have loved them all my life, and boy when I was expecting, they were my Christmas present in 1988 and I ate a whole big box before my baby girl was bone January 3rd. Chocolate shouldn't be consumed when nursing so I had to eat the whole box. Good Job!!

I liked that you melted the caramel chips little by little and then stirred. That is definitely the best way to do it.
Wow, nuts, caramel, and chocolate...so delicious. I like to use Ghiradelli as well, but usually the chips, not the wafers...I will have to try those.

Turtles are some of my favorites, like Snickers. My microwave has very inconsistent heating times and is often either cold or burnt (maybe time for a new one 😸) You shared the instructions with this so clearly I feel like even I can do it! Merry Christmas, Stacie and fam!

I had a turtle the other day and I was very disappointed. My friend bought a box of them and there was hardly any in the box and they were all individually wrapped… They seemed smaller and had no flavor… This video made me drool

I'm weighing out buying them vs making them and I want to know if there was a big cost difference? I know they're not cheap to buy already made. Just wondering🤔

The caramel bits were $3.49 at Walmart yesterday 😊
If you have a plastic fork you can snap off all but the two end tines on each side and it makes a perfect chocolate Dipper. :-)
