    Very well done VM, the pinch bolt you remove seem very easy, I'm in the cold climate area midwest and having issue removing the pinch bolt. What are some other trick or idea to remove it with regular tools.

    Hi , that’s great video
    I have a question if my cv axle leaking oil only one side so I have to change both side or just one side only? Thx

    Do you recommend the aftermarket axle or should I go OEM?

    • @vangmotive7023
      @vangmotive7023  2 года назад

      You can do remanufacture. Usually what I tell customers. I recommend oem parts for brakes because it stops the car. Alternators, water pump or anything internal in engine and fuel pump oem because these things can cause the car not to start. Ac compressor, ps pumps, starter and other things like axles can use alternative brands.

      You should not discard an oem axle for an aftermarket. These axles are hollow and balanced really well. Putting an aftermarket axle in an euro car will cause a driveline vibration in 1/2 cars. You only have 2 options. To reboot or to replace with an oem if ypurs is too far gone and clicking.

      @@vangmotive7023 the angle of the axle only allows me to remove the end near the transmission up instead of down. Now I have removed both ends of the axles. It is stuck in the space of the transmission and fuel tank on one end and part is still in the wheel baring on the other end. Thanks

      @@bretteagan5936 can I get your email I will forward you a picture of what you need to take off on the wheel bearing side to pull the axle out.. you will need to use a floor jack underneath the lower control arm and put some load on it and undo the shocks and 3 other bolts and remove the spring to flop the Knuckle so you can get the cv axle out.

      We have a parts supplier, they don't sell to the public only to business.

    are the axel bolt threads reverse threaded?

    • @vangmotive7023
      @vangmotive7023  Год назад

      No. Its just tight, impact gun won't touch it if it has not Been taken off before. You'll need a strong breaker bar.

    Nice video, but that axle bolt is a stretch bolt, so when you remove you need to replace it :)

    • @HristovRumen
      @HristovRumen Год назад

      It's not. It has a few dabs of threadlock when new. Clean it and put a dab on it. It becomes reusable.

    hey, nice video, what are the symptoms of a bad axle?

    • @vangmotive7023
      @vangmotive7023  2 года назад +1

      Clicking on sharp turns, vibration under accelerate and a hard shift into gear when put into gear.

    Just did this in the driveway....didn't touch the supension....just unbolted the bolts, the axle then just slides out, turn the wheel to get access.

    Good thing you didn't stretch the brake hose the whole time...

    • @vangmotive7023
      @vangmotive7023  Год назад

      Yeah, releasing it off the bracket will give it some room to move around. It will stretch slightly when removing it off the knuckle, but not much. Keeping the knuckle towards the front of the car will keep the brake hoses loose.
