The crew cabins in the tank deck were not initially constructed. They were part of the refitting which took place some short time before the yacht was sold. In the initial plans, the specific space was a crew gym and crew sitting room with tv and game consoles.

There is one that is approx 15 minutes where the whole interior was showed. Regarding the crew gym, I totally agree with you, and when I noticed some time ago that they refitted the specific space to make 3 cabins, I was disappointed..

I work in the offshore renewable sector as a cable lay technician, to see a yacht version of the types of vessels I work on is absolutely fantastic. This will be an incredibly capable ship that will probably be equipped with DP3 and stabilisation systems, a trip aboard this ship would be an incredible experience.... I’d trade in my 2 bunk cabin for the owners deck in a heart beat! Definitely my favourite super yacht to date. Fantastic video, I’d love to see more like this. More breakdowns due to lack of fuel would also be entertaining haha... keep up the good work, your video’s are entertaining for all the crew to watch onboard, always interesting.
Interesting tour of Andromeda! When I worked 12 hour night shift in mining, having a windowless room would have been very welcome, there was always a little daylight even with covered windows and it was more difficult to adjust the circadian.
Love your channels! My boat: Starting with the soft top. Next level; a place to stand a broken lawn chair, steering wheel, and throttle. Next level, a crouching area with a port-a potty and a place to recline when sea sick. Next level, water. 👍

Thanks for the deck tour, always thought the only way to store the helicopter was sideways but didn't think the hangar is deep enough - now I know it is. This is among my favorites M/Y's.

Everyone says there are 15 guest cabins but every time I see a deck plan or any video about it there are only 11...1 owners suite, 2 VIP’s on the boat deck and 8 on the pool deck. Where are the other 4 guest cabins? Thanks!
@@Andy_M986 He's had so many yachts called Ulysses, the early one was the rear deckhouse one, I believe it caught fire during the build, Graeme brought it from the insurance company and rebuilt it. Then there was the one he had built in Sth America, Chile was it? Never saw it completed at the Viaduct. Then this one, then the slightly bigger sister. Not bad for a tow truck driver lol.
I love looking at GAs find them so interesting to see how a vessel works and flows and give a great insight into crew areas, can’t get over the size of some of those crew cabins 😱

Given a choice of a single cabin up near the focsle or the shared cabin in the centre of the ship on the tank deck - I would take the latter all day long. Mind you I have only done 34 years sea time.😉
Yeah it's probably a wise decision. I was recently in a cabin close to this position (forward) and it was not pleasant. But neither is sharing. Now switch the centre cabin to single and yeah I'm with you.

Heli pilot, maybe. Security, unlikely. Of course always depending on the owner, but nannies and personal butlers often get one of the guest rooms. I have seen some GAPs which were very family oriented (kids rooms, family spaces for breakfast and the like) where there were bespoke nanny rooms which were identical to guest rooms, except with a direct door to the kids bedroom.
I absolutely love these and how you do them. Usually I only get to see those low quality GA but this is amazing. Please do more if you can get your hands on them. Great content 👏👍

What are the units of measurement and what is their significance? I.e. @1:19, the decks are each measured in what appears to be millimeters. However, @2:24 on the helicopter deck, we see markings "75" through "110." Those don't appear to be either meters or feet. What are they?
Fascinating what you can do if at the end of the day you are still richer than before you paid for this yacht. For the next presentation, please look into the cursor settings. There are several highlighting options even in Windows, so I assume your Mac will offer even more options to allow me to follow your tour.

These deck plan walkthroughs are my favourite kind of video that you do. Having a look at Fraser Yachts there are a decent number available. But yeah, like you the one I really want to see is Octopus. Maybe you could start a Gofundme and we can all chip in for a cash reward for whoever can supply a decent recent one.

An anti roll tank is a tank that is filled with water on the highest point of the ship. The tank has perforated divisions in the tank where the water can go through from left to right. When the ship rolles the perforations in these divisions give a retarding anti roll effect on the ship. This system can be found on newer passenger and freight ships. It has been developped by the University of Leiden, Holland for MAERSK.
There used to be Frohm anti roll tanks with a valve between tanks allowing crew to adjust the level of damping. These were located below the waterline however.

Due to the perforated divisions between the tanks it is a passive, not an active way to reduce roll. The higher above the center point of roll the more impact the tanks have.
Great Video! A sauna can traditionally be either steam or dry hot air as they were heated with a wood stove and/or used wood heat to heat rocks and you could pour water over those rocks for steam. For modern recreation centers with both steam and sauna's, the sauna is typically heated electrically, so no water allowed on them as that could short them out. This results in a drier heat. The steam room is obviously pure steam as the heat source, also these days typically made electrically somewhere else, so it doesn't short out. The different types of heat hit different. I have a bad back and use them when I can, but prefer a steam room myself.
Quick question for the next Q&A. I'm very prone to getting seasick. How bad does it need to be on a bigger yacht before guests start to throw up? Also how long does it normally take to acclimate to being on the ocean so that seasickness isn't an issue?
I'd love to see a walkthrough (especially technical) of M/V Yersin if you can manage to track down a decently detailed GA doc (I haven't been able to find one). It is an absolutely incredible vessel.

Love this yacht and the video's they showed ( still on youtube too) when she was for sale are incredible. Fraser Yacht sales has a GA for the motor vessel ACE on it's web site as it's for sale. That looks incredible too, and a bit of a weird arrangement (I think) on the main deck aft. Have a look at it if you get time.
New to this channel. Maybe 25-30 vids in. Good stuff. Has anyone asked about desalination and fresh water usage/capability/limitations/etc. The initial answer will undoubtedly be, "Well, it depends really." So more specifically, is there a metric for water per person on board and/or surface area of the vessel? Also curious about the volume/hour, or however it is measured, of R.O.s for various size M/Y's. Keep up the good work.
6:25, I guess I always thought the console would be within the window-ed part of the wing. Was there any reason for placing it outside? It seems like having it inside would be workable too.

I slept in the hole on a ship with out any sun light and slept like a baby, could hear the ocean waves hitting the outside of the haul. the racks were 15 high and they were pipe and canvas racks. In the service you learn to sleep anywhere.
Hi Sir, The two vessels Andromeda and Ulysess, are really classy vessels. I'm still very interested in finding out the layout of both on full Walkthroughs, as only a few short ones about. This deck plan video is a great concept. It nice to see the plans of some truly well designed yachts. So hope to see more. One thing I wanted to ask. Have you seen any plans, or Walkthrough footage of the U2, and or U23 30metre Power Cats. One in each vessel, stored in the toy storage in the bow. I'd love to see more about them. They are probably a Superyacht in their own right. Love the channel sir.
Seems like having the emergency generator away from the other generators and engine room might be a good idea in case there is a catastrophic issue in the ER.
I thought I spied an emergency generator on the topmost deck adjacent to the exhausts and behind the radars, "AC-5". That's where they're normally tucked - as high up as the architect can get it. Maybe it's the "absolute last resort" generator.
Yes, it's a great idea and many yachts have done this. It's up front on Andromeda so it's closer to the front cranes that handle all of those boats stored in and on the bow
Great walk through of a great yacht. I heard a rumor that there may be a commercial version of tilt rotor aircraft with an eye towards the super/mega yacht market? What say you about the idea? Faster. More range. Higher ceiling. More passengers. Smaller than the military version. How about M/Y Octopus for a walk through type video?
Early tests found an inherent problem with keeping the aircraft aloft during the transition between vertical and level flight. The USN/USMC kept killing test crews. I know there was promotional material for a light civilian version 20 or so years ago, but unless the safety issues have been resolved, I doubt there's a production version yet. I haven't kept up to date with tilt rotor development though. Perhaps they've solved that now?

I saw this vessel anchored off of Moorea last December. Very impressive.

I am thinking that some of those larger crew cabins could be for pilots. There would be more than one pilot at a time I would believe.

Love this yacht and the video's they showed ( still on youtube too) when she was for sale are incredible. Fraser Yacht sales has a GA for the motor vessel ACE on it's web site as it's for sale. That looks incredible too, and a bit of a weird arrangement (I think) on the main deck aft. Have a look at it if you get time.

New to this channel. Maybe 25-30 vids in. Good stuff. Has anyone asked about desalination and fresh water usage/capability/limitations/etc. The initial answer will undoubtedly be, "Well, it depends really." So more specifically, is there a metric for water per person on board and/or surface area of the vessel? Also curious about the volume/hour, or however it is measured, of R.O.s for various size M/Y's.

6:25, I guess I always thought the console would be within the window-ed part of the wing. Was there any reason for placing it outside? It seems like having it inside would be workable too.

I slept in the hole on a ship with out any sun light and slept like a baby, could hear the ocean waves hitting the outside of the haul. the racks were 15 high and they were pipe and canvas racks. In the service you learn to sleep anywhere.

Hi Sir, The two vessels Andromeda and Ulysess, are really classy vessels. I'm still very interested in finding out the layout of both on full Walkthroughs, as only a few short ones about. This deck plan video is a great concept. It nice to see the plans of some truly well designed yachts. So hope to see more. One thing I wanted to ask. Have you seen any plans, or Walkthrough footage of the U2, and or U23 30metre Power Cats. One in each vessel, stored in the toy storage in the bow. I'd love to see more about them. They are probably a Superyacht in their own right.

Seems like having the emergency generator away from the other generators and engine room might be a good idea in case there is a catastrophic issue in the ER.
I thought I spied an emergency generator on the topmost deck adjacent to the exhausts and behind the radars, "AC-5". That's where they're normally tucked - as high up as the architect can get it. Maybe it's the "absolute last resort" generator.
Yes, it's a great idea and many yachts have done this. It's up front on Andromeda so it's closer to the front cranes that handle all of those boats stored in and on the bow
Great walk through of a great yacht. I heard a rumor that there may be a commercial version of tilt rotor aircraft with an eye towards the super/mega yacht market? What say you about the idea? Faster. More range. Higher ceiling. More passengers. Smaller than the military version. How about M/Y Octopus for a walk through type video?

Early tests found an inherent problem with keeping the aircraft aloft during the transition between vertical and level flight. The USN/USMC kept killing test crews.
I know there was promotional material for a light civilian version 20 or so years ago, but unless the safety issues have been resolved, I doubt there's a production version yet.
I haven't kept up to date with tilt rotor development though. Perhaps they've solved that now?

Very nice tour and explanations, thanks for recording this kind of tour. I am curious about one of the shots of the interior shows what looks like a pool table. Are they ‘stabilized’ in some way? It seems any sort of rolling would prohibit any chance at playing a game of pool. Thanks again.

You mentioned that it was a workhorse. Care to add any more details that a casual viewer might not know? I was wondering why the hull is so big, is it for hiding toys or something else? Further, what are the advantages found in explorer yachts that comparably sized vessels aren't capable of? Have you ever worked on one?
