I only do Gunpla typically, but was looking up this kit since I was feeling nostalgic and spotted a deal online for one. The review was great, but the measurements and size comparison to Gunpla in particular stood out to me as incredibly helpful, thank you very much for that!
Nice emphasis on the beginner-friendly and solid kit. It's one of the most recommended kits if you want to introduce someone to Zoids, along with LZ and the new Rev Raptors I think. Can't wait for your next review!
I see you also have the fire fox. Is the fire fox the same as this? I’m thinking of picking it up for my first zoids model kit. Also, great review. I love the details and the articulations.
Oh, cool! Looking forward to this review. Shadow Fox is the one HMM kit I'm really eager to try out when it comes back in stock. It looks the most accessible to build and likely won't have the same weight and structural issues as the other Zoids you already talked about. I love the HMM Jaeger colours so much that I'm seriously considering repainting this. A question though, in case it's not mentioned in the review, what type of plastic do HMM kits use? Is it similar to Bandai with ABS, PS, PP, etc?
@@vancyhobbies I just finished watching the review and I'm glad it holds up this well over time. Imagine what a few layers of paint and topcoat could do to improve the stability of the kit. I might permanently glue the upper area of the gun arm because that sort of weight distribution was never going to hold up over time. Good thing you posed it beside the Amplified Metalgarurumon because the more I look at it, the more I like it despite the sharp, pointy redesign. The similar size does help too.
@@vancyhobbies Unfortunately, I'm one of those that don't have a social media presence. Most of the kits I want to paint have been primed but I just haven't gotten around to painting due to lack of time. I'm still a novice when it comes to model kit building too, having only started in 2020 because of the lockdowns. ;D
Do you have an extended video of your collection? I ask because I'm considering getting into zoids and trying to figure out how best to fit them on display cases. I assume those are ikea detolfs, right?
Do you display your zoids as teams? "Zoids: New Century Zero" was the best animated series. Habing all the teams battling each other was really enjoyable.
@@vancyhobbies Zoids was animated. Maybe they could bring it back and show the Blitz team at the next level. Do you have the different versions of the Blitz Team? 1st: Shield Liger, Dibison, Command Wolf, and Pteras 2nd: Liger Zero, Dibison, Command Wolf, Pteras . . . Last version: Liger Zero, Shadow Fox, Gun Sniper, and the flying one (I don't remember)
So I grew up with New Century Zero and ordered a HMM Berserk Fury Repackaged version. I have been looking at any HMM review I can find and wanted to see if there was any advice I could get. I have a standard model building tool kit and know that superglue will be needed even though I don’t plan on painting it. Please share anything you feel is a need to know.
Congrats on getting it, as for the build just make sure you cut off the nubs carefully and shave off the remains so the parts fit well. I don't think you will need to use any glue, I never did for mine and it holds out pretty well aside from a little looseness of the ankles. But if you do have any small piece that manages to fall off a lot go head a dab a bit of glue, though i really dont think you have to. Have fun with the build and take your time, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
@@vancyhobbies I just got my Fury and put the head together after work. I cut my finger with the hobby knife and created some battle damage on the left chin guard, but that is the process of building, right? It will be a great project to complete, and im excited to do more over the next week!
@@ChipoSkippy I remember when I started i cut myself a bunch as well, building model kits is risky business lol. Glad you're enjoying the building process though, its an awesome kit.

Most hmm zoids weapon systems can be interchanged between different kits, like the command wolves weapons can be equipped the fox. Though there will be some limitations like don't expect a gojulas weapons on a small shadow fox.

This was my first zoid and kotobukyia model. Its also my favorite zoid.
Great choice! 👍
your video quality is on par with famous model kit reviewers. looking forward for more HMM zoid kits :)

HMMs consist mostly of ps plastic but has some abs, pe and a little pvc as well. Also thanks for the support ANON!

Yessir, all my zoids are in detolfs and 1 milsbo
So the difference between markings plus vs a kit without markings plus is just a set of stickers?
Yep pretty much

They have released "marking plus" versions of this kit, so you can still pick it up.
