3 years later and Kotobukiya has still yet to make an Elephander HMM kit yet. Their most major recent new release is Konig Wolf I believe. I'd buy the crap out of an HMM Elephander though. It would cost at least $150 USD but it would also be at least twice the size of the Liger.
I love Zoids. I've built the base Liger Zero and just finished the Liger Zero Jager yesterday. I've still got the Schneider and Panzer to build. So a warning if you want to build the Jager, Schneider and Panzer they are just alternate armor variants of the Liger Zero (base) that are cannon in Zoids: New Century (if you haven't watched it). So you will be building the exact same under frame for all four versions, the only difference is the outer armor. Note: it's better to build each on their own inner frame, you can buy just the armor without a inner frame, but after building the Jager I was thankful that I didn't buy just the armor, I would not be bothered to switch out the armors for display.

Yes!! Mecha Gaikotsu finally did a review on a HMM zoid! I'm a huge zoid fan, and I wanted to see thorough reviews on them before I buy them. They are quite expensive, and I have been waiting for the Shadow Fox, and Geno Saurer (Raven) to appear again at HLJ. It would be awesome if you reviewed them.
finally a zoid review on your channel! they're awesome kits despite the age. some things, the "guns" you kept calling in the beginning are also boosters; it has two pilots bc i think they're supposed to be Van Flyheight and Fiona (but Fiona is not a pilot, she just tags along lol) but there is a Blade Liger AB Van Specification kit that comes with figures of Van, Fiona, the organoid Zeke, and a special Zoid Core that has Zeke fused in it, and they don't have accessories you can swap like gundams bc they're already on the unit. if anyone wants swappable features, you can get the base lige zero and the separate CAS/armors (Schneider, Jager, and Panzer -and there's also full kits for those) as for recommendations, the command wolf for the wolf type, berserk fury, actually get anything they're just amazing lol. and yes, you'll get what you paid for bc their awesome builds. the engineering is awesome, they're huge, and just fun to build. last thing, mecha if you're reading this. get the liger zero panzer and pair it with a full armor unicorn. missile/armory galore 👌 can't wait for the Jager review!
I have the HMM Command Wolf and Shadow Fox. Both are great - Command Wolf is more like an HG but is fun to play with and light enough to use with a stand, has lots of cool gun options too. The Shadow Fox is more like a master grade, has better articulation, and looks amazing out of the box. I'd highly recommend both.
The Berserk Fury and the Liger Zero (with the Changing Armor System sets) are beyond amazing. Huge recommend. Especially if you want a ZOID that stands on two legs.
I’d also love to see your take on a HMM Geno Saur/breaker, it’s another infamous amazing zoid that came out early on the HMM kotobukiya kits timeline but has some improvements on recent releases and is due for another release this month I believe. Should go well with it’s rival Blade liger too.

@@sterbill1 oh mate im really sorry, that list i make just what i know and most of them on my wishlist and im actually just start to collect the zoid kit haha should have search more then thank you for the info
This is probably the best review for a Zoid I've ever seen, great job. Those fins on the shoulders are vents for the shield generator, the anime shows them opening up and venting steam when the shields are overloaded. With the runners, the Shield Liger was from 2006 and it's main body and legs come from that kit, the Blade Liger was released about a year later recycling some parts and the AB weapon set was released a year after that, first as a separate box and then as a combined set with what you have here and the anime accurate Van version (or "Bang" as they bizzarly call him on the box) which comes with small pre-painted in scale figures for Van, Fiona and their organoid Zeke. I've built 24 HMM Zoids so far and I've never needed to use glue on them but you can notice that Kotobukia really doesn't have the same kind of quality control and level of plastic injection engineering that Bandai has, which isn't a surprise as they're a vastly smaller company. The more recent designs are the best in terms of quality, I'd highly recommend getting the Gojulas, it's by far their best model and is the size, complexity (and cost) as a PG but is absolutely rock solid and looks amazing, especially if you can get one of the variants with the huge Gojulas Cannons.
I had the deathsaur by Tomy and that was years back and that kit was HUUUGGEEE! Sadly, I lost the kit when a flood hit our city, our house got destroyed along with my zoid collection. They must be at the bottom of the ocean now Edit: I recommend you take a look at the command wolf and the lightning saix to name a few or the gun sniper and the dark horn are also awesome
@@darkz1820 it really sucks Bud. I actually lost all my zoid collection that day which is a total of 15 kits. Its not a huge collection, bud I saved all my lunch money just to buy each one of those kits making them special
I'm sure that with almost 800 comments someone has mentioned it, but just in case they haven't, this kit was actually released in February of this year, 2020. Interestingly it's the first one I've seen that actually recommends glue on any parts; the Blade Liger AB Bang Ver from 2009 had the exact same parts in the exact same place and did not recommend any glue. I guess as they started doing remakes they altered the instructions to add glue to parts that were prone to falling apart. I have the Gunsniper Linnon (Leena) Special and absolutely love it. No glue required there! Only complaint with that kit was that the instructions for the additional parts were just tacked onto the instructions for the base Gunsniper, which caused problems as some parts needed to be assembled before others.
Try HMM beserk Fury and Dark Horn. Almost all zoids is great kit Note: that open section of the leg is for releasing the heat so zoids that use Heat seeker is confuse with 20 zoids heat. Check out the anime its really good for mecha fans
The only _Zoids_ series I can remember coming to Canada had the Liger Zero able to change its weapons and armour. Jaeger was the speed version, and Panzer the... well, the tank. I think the third mode was called Schneider. I think this was before _Gundam SEED_ aired.
I will say having built a few HMM Zoids at this point, I highly highly recommend grabbing some pour-type Gundam markers, specifically a gold and silver to detail all the little molded bits like rivets and hoses and coverings and such. These Zoids visually pop like CRAZY once you paint up the details, especially on the darker underbody.
Try a Liger Zero variant. They're better with glue (the teeth are finicky until you get the head assembled and there's one place where you use glue to keep the torso from sagging over time), but it's not necessary.
you absolutely dont need glue for any of the HMM kits. it can help for a perfect finish where youre melting sprue to clean up the join lines and such, but for the average builder, pressing the pieces in with some good force will work out extremely well
Back in the day I hade the shield lion then liger zero the raptor sniper and the big gorillas. Man those were good time waking up in the morning to some zoids
I highly recommend the HMM Gojulas Ogre, Iron Kong, and Red Horn / Dark Horn (those last two are very similar). I'm glad to see people finding out about how cool these kits are. Without glue, they feel a little fragile to me, but they're overall just awesome.
I got the bootleg version of the blade liger from wish and from what I could tell the quality is on par with the actual ones just going by RUclips vids. I bought 2 because of the price. The blue one like here and the other was the mirage (white with red trim version). I do have an official liger zero that I got in the mail the other day, once I build that I will be able to better compare the official quality with the bootleg. I did not have to glue the blue blade liger at all but on the white one, there were a couple places I added some glue because the joints that moved were pulling too hard on some of the other pieces.
The liger and saber tigers, as far back as I could still remember, were 2 seaters. One for the pilot and the other for a passenger. When I had my zoids years ago, the ones where you put batteries in them, they came with those little dinosaur like characters that fuses with the zoid. And man, if that one is big, imagine a deathsaurer.
Not Zoids related, but I’ve been building some Armored Core kits for a custom project, and I’m pretty impressed with them. There’s a lot of intricacy in their builds, and there’s metric fuckloads of color-separates plastic. Of the kits I’ve built so far, I think you’d like the AC017 Nine Ball Armored Core Ver. It’s quite solid save for two detail pieces on the core that really need gluing, the build is involved without being too tedious, and it was reissued last year, IIRC, so hopefully prices won’t be too high. It’s also in 1/72 scale, so you can compare it to the Blade Liger accurately.
Definitely have to recommend the Liger Zero Schneider. Only... two parts need to be glued? Everything else sticks really well. Mine sits on the bottom of my "Newest/Favorite kits" cabinet, and honestly it's such a heavy UNIT. I put it up higher and the glass beneath it cracked from its weight... So I had to reinforce, and then moved it to the bottm where there's more structure. All in all, either the Schneider or the Genosaurer/Genobreaker!
I just watched your review video on the Blade Liger AB and I liked it. I'm not sure if you've done this or not, but I recommend you try the Gun Sniper with Weasel unit. Actually I used to have those wind-up Zoids and other walking ones.
I started my model kit building with zoids but now I do gunpla. What you are saying is true there is a lot of plastic with these kits. That only makes them much more fun to put together. And if you want large kit look for a Gojulas kit or the rare Death Saurer hmm kits.
I think the white parts on the upper portion of the feet are heat vents-or at least that's what I think I remember they did back in the old show, Chaotic Century.
I forgotten about my Liger Zero I had in a box in my closet. The parts are extremely loose and required a lot of glue. It does look awesome on the shelf.
Just for those not aware, those file trays you see in an office supply store work very well for holding the runners. Plus they stack so that can save you some room.
Decided to buy my Blade Liger after waching this. What a great review! I hope you review also some other zoids like Liger Zero and ita armament (Panzer, Jager and Schneider)
Some good smaller Zoids that you can try are the Command Wolf models ( I would recommend the repackaged version that comes with all the weaponry available for it), the Shadow Fox, and Gun Sniper models
Try the Takara Tommy ZOIDS Wild ZW36 Rising Liger. It has a motor instead of wind-up. The movement is still reaaaallly basic, and because it moves the pose-ability is nill, but still a surprisingly beautiful kit, and the parts aren't in runners!

3 years later and Kotobukiya has still yet to make an Elephander HMM kit yet. Their most major recent new release is Konig Wolf I believe. I'd buy the crap out of an HMM Elephander though. It would cost at least $150 USD but it would also be at least twice the size of the Liger.
14:16 Imagine that walking through every review, that'll be so cool XD
Mecha, there are wolf zoids throughout the zoid series.
Yes. But are there WEREWOLF zoids?
Command Wolf (the classic), Sword Wolf (if you want to be the hero), and Konig Wolf
he said zoid werewolf, not wolf (stands on two legs)
@@Quadrolithium Konig is the best.

DRAGON_STORM_4 schneider forever, personal favorite of the three armors.
Wonder if they will ever make the Phoenix or falcon variants, too many liger zeros, still my fav lol
How/where did you purchase them from? I’m in the States.
@@ipodgolfer13 I got mine off amazon, but Hobby link japan has them cheaper if they have them in stock. Always good to look around before making a final purchase.

Nick Rusty what
Do you mean a refreshing review or is it a new production blade liger ab but using the 2006 mold?
what this guy failed to realize, there are way newer ligers. dude im pulling my hair out. Look up the Liger zero/schneider/panzer/yager release date for Kotobukiya. PLEASE. lol i am freaking out that youre not trying the newer models man
@@BudgetBlade It was re-released this year, but yeah it uses the old 2006 mold so the tech is still 2006, not 2020.
DUDE!! i remember being obsessed with Zoids when I was a kid!! Liger Zero, blade liger, and dark spiner are the ones I know for sure I had!
I still have a crate full of Tomy-made Zoids beneath my bed that I made when I was a kid
All I can recommend is my very first zoid build the HMM Sturm Tyrann. Love to see you tackle that beast!
Mecha: glue in a kit that may or may not fall apart and this kit is amazing!!
Also mecha: mmmm this mg stays together and is pretty good..... silver tier!!
I built the shield liger while traveling through Japan in 2008... and is still in one piece to this day! Only part likes to break for me, I think this is Kotobukiya's best line from what I have built
The scale didn’t lie for the perfect grade, he is a unit
You should definitely try the non-four-legged ones like Berserk Fury and any Geno Saurer. Or go straight to the Gojulases 😁
Goujales are fucking expensive though. And massive
this reminds me when we had an energy liger it was lit but I was like 4 and now the energy liger has lost a leg and tubes
and some armor

It would be awesome if you reviewed them.
finally a zoid review on your channel! they're awesome kits despite the age.
some things, the "guns" you kept calling in the beginning are also boosters; it has two pilots bc i think they're supposed to be Van Flyheight and Fiona (but Fiona is not a pilot, she just tags along lol) but there is a Blade Liger AB Van Specification kit that comes with figures of Van, Fiona, the organoid Zeke, and a special Zoid Core that has Zeke fused in it, and they don't have accessories you can swap like gundams bc they're already on the unit. if anyone wants swappable features, you can get the base lige zero and the separate CAS/armors (Schneider, Jager, and Panzer -and there's also full kits for those)
as for recommendations, the command wolf for the wolf type, berserk fury, actually get anything they're just amazing lol.
and yes, you'll get what you paid for bc their awesome builds. the engineering is awesome, they're huge, and just fun to build.
last thing, mecha if you're reading this. get the liger zero panzer and pair it with a full armor unicorn. missile/armory galore 👌
can't wait for the Jager review!
The beserk fury was always my favortire zoid and im pretty sure this same line has one in it
Got the liger zero panzer back in janurary and he is one big boy and i love him, he and heavy arms custom are perfect together
Oof, that broken peg in the Frame Arms. RIP 💀
18:33 the part you had trouble is "compression refrigerator" in horrible Engrish which, I would estimate, is something like a radiator.
enjoy your videos. keep it up man.
Hi mate, here the list of zoid u should pick one:
- Liger zero schneider,
- liger jager,
- death stinger,
- sturm tyranna,
- pteras bomber jamie,
- dark horn harry,
- dibison thomas,
- iron kong prozen knight,
- buster tortoise,
- gun sniper leena,
I really interested on death stinger which is a scorpion type of zoid and for me it look really amazing but the other are also awesome tho. Hope you will get at least one of what i suggest in the list.
My friend you have excellent taste.
you listed the schneider and jager but not the panzer?
Bro, you must add liger panzer for sure
@@sterbill1 oh mate im really sorry, that list i make just what i know and most of them on my wishlist and im actually just start to collect the zoid kit haha should have search more then thank you for the info
no love for molga?
They must be at the bottom of the ocean now
Edit: I recommend you take a look at the command wolf and the lightning saix to name a few or the gun sniper and the dark horn are also awesome
that's sucks hard to get that again
Almost all zoids is great kit
Note: that open section of the leg is for releasing the heat so zoids that use Heat seeker is confuse with 20 zoids heat. Check out the anime its really good for mecha fans
You sound like you really enjoyed it, I really hope you do more !! I'm sure you'll find a lot of them look amazing when finished.
The second I heard “it need glue” I was out
Try a Liger Zero variant. They're better with glue (the teeth are finicky until you get the head assembled and there's one place where you use glue to keep the torso from sagging over time), but it's not necessary.
you absolutely dont need glue for any of the HMM kits. it can help for a perfect finish where youre melting sprue to clean up the join lines and such, but for the average builder, pressing the pieces in with some good force will work out extremely well
Ligers are pretty much my favorite animal, they're bred for their skills in magic
I like chickens because they have large talons.
I like pig, because their tummy is delicious
Back in the day I hade the shield lion then liger zero the raptor sniper and the big gorillas. Man those were good time waking up in the morning to some zoids
Do the HMM Berserk Fury, one of my all time favorite kits.
Don't forget to warn him about the backpack. It likes to fall apart slightly on mine
@@porakiyadraekojin3390 hmm, I didn't have that problem on mine

Well, I’ve been waiting for this.
I highly recommend the HMM Gojulas Ogre, Iron Kong, and Red Horn / Dark Horn (those last two are very similar).
I'm glad to see people finding out about how cool these kits are. Without glue, they feel a little fragile to me, but they're overall just awesome.
Hey Mecha, might as well try the Lightning Saix or the Liger Zero variants
Or any Storm Sworder
It looks like he'll do a review on the Jager verison.
@@JackyEntertainment Oh yes, I've forgot that he has one~ ;)
I'd not recommend the Lightning Saix, it looks amazing but was a PITA to put together, the legs in particular don't like going onto the ball joints.
oh yes! storm sworder!
I did not have to glue the blue blade liger at all but on the white one, there were a couple places I added some glue because the joints that moved were pulling too hard on some of the other pieces.
now, i'm re-watching zoids chaotic century
I built the Red Horn last year and loved it. Although it took a tumble off a top of a bookshelf and needs to be reassembled.
Where's the "more to come"? :(
I’ve been waiting for this type of video for awhile in your channel!! Nicee
13:58 I find it adorable.
Something charming about a wind up mechanical wolf that you built yourself
Glad you like it.
Zoids model kits is awesome.
Rival to every Gundam.
Ah finaly, my wish came true, I hope to see more Zoids review from Mr. Mecha sir
The last time i built a zoid was when it was battery powered with not much articulation and an easy build, this brings back childhood memories.
BTW love this video man. I was hoping for a good channel to review Zoids and yours was perfect
Loved the pet poses at the end! 🥰
This is also completely new to me. Did a bit of window shopping online. There is an amazing tortoise tank unit that looks insane!
Excellent review! More Zoids please.
Childhood!!! Love Zoids! I really need to get some Zoids Models.
I just watched your review video on the Blade Liger AB and I liked it. I'm not sure if you've done this or not, but I recommend you try the Gun Sniper with Weasel unit. Actually I used to have those wind-up Zoids and other walking ones.
Mecha, fighters don't have two pilots anymore, lol, love your reviews!
I started my model kit building with zoids but now I do gunpla. What you are saying is true there is a lot of plastic with these kits. That only makes them much more fun to put together. And if you want large kit look for a Gojulas kit or the rare Death Saurer hmm kits.
Zoids? Oh yeah now we're talking! I always loved their design!
18:43 Completion Refrigerators. Basically a fast heat exchanger used to quickly cool the frame down.
I think the white parts on the upper portion of the feet are heat vents-or at least that's what I think I remember they did back in the old show, Chaotic Century.
That's a huge and awesome kit-ty.
Ahhhh yessss !!!! Finally a zoids review by my favorite youtube channel :D blade liger HMM push me to collect zoids again :)
Thanks for the review I can't wait to build my red blade liger
Thanks I've been on the fence about buying one of these for the longest time. Build the liger zero jager next.
18:36 as hinted or mentioned by others here, "konpurisshonrifurijereitaa" is "Completion Refrigerator", or the cooling vents
i built that same kit when i was 8. its been around for a really long time.
FINALLY!!! this kit are AWESOME
HMM Shadow Fox! Great build!
I've built a bunch of Kotobukiya Zoids. I highly recommend the Blade Liger's nemesis. The 'Geno Breaker.'
Broooooo when you took out your first zoid build. I had two zoids.. I was like 8 when I built mine. I remember the whining omg. Memories
Some good smaller Zoids that you can try are the Command Wolf models ( I would recommend the repackaged version that comes with all the weaponry available for it), the Shadow Fox, and Gun Sniper models
One of my personal favorite Zoids is the Command Wolf, you need to get the Koto Command Wolf.
Try the Takara Tommy ZOIDS Wild ZW36 Rising Liger. It has a motor instead of wind-up. The movement is still reaaaallly basic, and because it moves the pose-ability is nill, but still a surprisingly beautiful kit, and the parts aren't in runners!
I had a motorized Liger Zero as a kid. It was pretty much a brick like the wind up one you showed so I had no idea Zoids could be this good.
I would love to see all zoids you can review❤️
Wow! Thats a lot bigger then the Zoids I grew up with in the late 80's.
That white fox literally resembles as Shadow Fox one of my most favorite Zoids ever.
Looking forward to more Zoids reviews!
I'm so excited for the future zoids reviews! Also, I would love to see a Death Stinger or Sturm Tyrann review some time!
I have a large collection of Zoids by Tomy when i was still a small child in the early 2000s and they are falling apart :') I remember getting the Bison and the clerk sold it to me by saying that the metallic parts which were the horns and hooves being from America.
