I love that your son is helping 💙 and please enjoy all the time you have with him. I lost my son april 1 2022 in a fatal car accident, he was 21 yrs old and a new father.
I'm so sorry people came at you for using vintage ornaments before. Last I checked, once you purchase something, it's yours to do with what you please! Vintage or not! You're an amazing crafter and brought new life to YOUR ornaments that otherwise had a 50/50 chance of being thrown away! You are the best, Brandy! ❤🎉
Brandy I love everything you do. Plus your positive affirmations are so appreciated and important! Your videos just delight me. Thank you and God Bless. ❤
Loved these! I was born in '65 and I always thought some of those vintage ornaments were hideous, but you definitely transformed them into something much more worthy to hang on a tree or even gift to someone! I appreciate that you've done some of the "engineering" designs that help with the assembly of the tricky areas. I thought it was clever that you glued a portion of a craft stick over the plastic holly of the little deer ornament and it also served as the stable base for the deer. As a crafter, I appreciate those tidbits of information! I did find it humorous when you said "I know someone wants to correct me." 🤣
Well done you!! Absolutely love them all! I recognized all those items from my childhood. And you made them new again 👏😃 Simply beautiful. So glad I found your video 💗
I'm a 70's girl too. 😁 As a child each Christmas in our stockings, we would have the Lifesaver's story book. It was heartbreaking when Lifesaver's stopped making them.
@@CindyCayton they do have them but they just aren't the same. However, I still look at them every time that I see them. They bring back such wonderful memories.
What you're doing with the little jello molds is lovely. If I had 'em, I'd probably take the time to stretch them even furthur, before using them as bases for ornaments like this. I've seen youtubers mix up some paper pulp air-dry clays, and there are some super inexpensive lightweight air dry clay you can buy too. Imaging using some of these ornate half-spheres to make two molded clay shapes and then attaching the two on their bottom flat edges for a symmetrical hanging shape. You could make as many interestingly-shaped Christmas balls as you felt like, putting ribbon or embellishment over the connecting seam, if it's too obvious, or sanding the seam to blend in. Then you could decorate them however you felt like, and an entire tree set of really unique ornaments would slowly spring forth from those silly little molds, with fancy ones like you made as variation. More time commitment than is easy to put aside, at least at first, but what a great basis to build a set that all has shapes in common, if you're just starting your tree-decorating collection.
The cardboard pyramid may always have been empty. As an avid crafter, I once bought a tear-outs book of fancy geometric Victorian-style boxes to craft. For me, Some became hanging tree ornaments, some jewelry boxes, and some were weighted down to be stylish pen containers. Bits and pieces of the embellished borders of on that tear-outs book still turn up in collages I make, particularly at Christmas.
Goo be gone helps glue to get off. Also a nail brush. That is how, I got my old glue off,and warm soapy water. First, I used warm soapy water, then goo by gone.
As a designer, always think odd numbers. My suggestion on the Merry Christmas ornament to put three pompous & three small pine ones as well in the middle of your bows.
LOVE these creative inspirations. Growing up every year we made ornaments for our Christmas tree and I followed the tradition with my daughter and now with my grandboys. These ornaments are so very inspirational and bring back the memories. Thank you for sharing and the nostalgia . ❤
Love all your ornaments Brandy! Geez, I graduated High School in 1973!! lol! I also love the little retro ornaments you showed. I think I had or still have a couple very similar to those.🙂😼🎄
Some people would call the shiny stuff tinsel garland, since just saying tinsel brings to mind the individual silver strands people sometimes cover trees with (messy throw-away stuff to be avoided, that).
They are really beautiful ornaments. They brought back memories of when I was in my 20's. I love the detail on all of them and they are easy to make.😊👍👍👍👍
I love the little vintage ornaments. ❤They remind me of my childhood Christmas. When my mom passed, my sisters and I divided up the ornaments and we enjoy seeing them on our trees. I did clean up my vintage ornaments and they are beautiful ❤
Wonderful inspiration thank you Brandy!! That cone box you had is like the Christmas tree pickle. They were loaded with goodies and buried throughout the tree for Christmas morning gift exchange. It was done alot before stockings became popular. They can also be used to hide small gifts in the tree as well. My great grandmother had many from her childhood, they made them from old cards and magazines when they had them. Grandma found them in her Christmas stuff after her mother had passed.
It's funny because when you brought out the old dirt ornaments that brought me back to my childhood LOL my grandmother used to use those and those little baking tins. I also was born in 73❤
I believe what you are doing is awsome, and I thank you from the bottom of my ❤, to making Victorian ornaments, cause no one else has and I love the Victorin era ❤️ ♥️ 💖
They are so cute that it’s hard to choose the perfect one, I grew up in the 60’s and I remember the old Christmas cards, and love the old ornaments on the tree
I believe that tinsel is just anything decor that shiney strings. On a spool or just in a bag, tinsel is tinsel. Either way, its beautiful. Dont forget. The 70's are known for Disco music. Disco ball ornamints had actual mirrors on it. I loved them.❤❤❤
I loved everything, especially the vtg items. I would love to see your take on dark n moody Ornaments for everyday or even a halloween tree. You are amazing.
Just gorgeous! I love the velum in the back of the ornament to let it be lit from behind. Love it, love you! Thank you Brandy!❤ Oh my goodness! Had to come back to say that you girls are young, try being born in 57! lol!! Dang I’m old!😜
I love your idea but I had a thought about the bells. Did you consider using a large silver jingle bell instead of an ornament so it actually has a sound.😮
If you’re gonna soak glitter off do not throw it down the sink! Holly at Hot Humble Pie talks about how it’s suffocating our sea life because they can’t breathe with all the little bits of plastic in the ocean. Please spread the word! Loved the vintage ornaments. Do you have free lives somewhere? Tfs!
When I was a little girl in the 50s, "tinsel" was made from thin strips of aluminum or foil. They started to make tinsel out of a plastic material in the mid 60s...still prefer the metal...
The first one in this video where you're trying to remove glitter LOL I have some snow flocked eucalyptus I'm trying to remove the snow from in the same manner too funny hoping it works

So far, the ornaments look way better. Nice job.
Thank you, I'm loving how they are turning out too!

I love your projects but you know that!!! Think it was so adorable your son wanted to help!!!❤❤❤
I think so too!
Your son wanting to paint was the coolest. He did great.🥰
😊 thank you
You did a great job saving the ornaments from that freaky look. Good job, they look really good now!
Thanks so much! 😊
Oh and dont let anything anyone's saying upset you as your amazing crafter❤❤❤
Thank you

You have absolutely GOT it going on. Keep it up
Thank you Alicia!

As a child each Christmas in our stockings, we would have the Lifesaver's story book. It was heartbreaking when Lifesaver's stopped making them.
I loved those, thought i was a millionaire when I got one in my stocking. Now they have the gummie life saves books-just not the same.
They still sell the lifesaver boxes . I got one last Xmas
@@CindyCayton they do have them but they just aren't the same. However, I still look at them every time that I see them. They bring back such wonderful memories.
@@MakingItMyOwn LOL...Me too!!! The little things really do mean so much.
Love your work! Tinsel is what it’s made of (thin strips of metal foil) one is tinsel garland, tinsel icicles etc.
Ooooh, that makes sense, thank you!
Don`t worry about the haters , I thrift those ornies for the same exact thing 🥰

On the statement piece you made, the spacers look like wheels from old Lincoln Log toys, or something like that.😂
