I just realised something while watching this video again, the description of protestor tactics in Hong Kong. Its a strategy that Gene Sharp teaches called "the marginal theory of violence". Where a protestor would deliberately engage in violence to provoke the police and they had people filming to later edit out the provocations and use that to distribute to foreign media. Its been well documented for what they call the umbrella movement. They used umbrellas to hide their acts of violence against ordinary citizens. It really is quite insidious and disgusting.

I just realised something while watching this video again, the description of protestor tactics in Hong Kong.
Its a strategy that Gene Sharp teaches called "the marginal theory of violence". Where a protestor would deliberately engage in violence to provoke the police and they had people filming to later edit out the provocations and use that to distribute to foreign media.
Its been well documented for what they call the umbrella movement. They used umbrellas to hide their acts of violence against ordinary citizens. It really is quite insidious and disgusting.
