The fact that Daisy Keech, among many other influencers, have a workout guide and food plan (that costs $, might I add) is SO concerning because she has 0 credentials, certifications or degrees. I don’t understand how this is legal.
Agreed! It’s great that she can make a living/killer money off of taking pictures of her genetically gifted body, but do NOT pretend that you got that body from working out/eating a certain way and do NOT sell stupid plans to the naive, the gullible and the uneducated who think that paying for such a plan will make them look like Daisy.
This is one of the biggest things that i love in my country (Brazil) you just can't give advice about food intake our exercise if you are not a nutricionist or a physical exercise professional ( minimum of 4 years university).
It’s not though. I think it depends on the legislations of each country but here in my country it’s illegal for people that aren’t certified to do that, and even then only registered dietitians can do it

I’m sobbing looking back at where I was when I posted this 7 months ago. I now eat 3 meals plus 2-3 snacks a day. The little monologue that used to happen every time I ate is gone and I can really enjoy food again. For those wondering if recovery is possible I can tell you 100% IT IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!! IT IS POSSIBLE!!!! DONT GIVE UP!!
Eat the d*mn bread your family's cooking and even go to restaurants if that pleases your body I believe you can go that far in the future but for the moment let that lady teach and influence you with her knowledge she even posted her eating routines one day you'll prob stick to it I trust
As someone who is recovered (as far as you can be) the feeling of just eating and enjoying life again is seriously so much better than any kind of thin body I could ever have. I remember when I'd ditch my friends and not go out because I thought coffee with milk has too many calories, let alone a meal or alcohol. So girl EAT THE BREAD!! Life's seriously too short to stay away from anything that would make you happy. And ngl bread is life :D
Is the no carbs thing like an American/ Canadian thing? I'm Dutch and I eat bread for breakfast and lunch, it's like a staple food here in the Netherlands.
Completely no! I would say that most of Americans even eat too many carbs - a lot of sweets, processed food, pancakes, bread etc. But low carb or keto diet unfortunately is getting popular in global medias, not only in USA or Canada, by diet culture. many popular celebrities are trying this and making videos, so you might have a feeling that it’s American thing. In fact, as I said, it’s only like this in social media, in reality a few people are actually on low carb diet.

Therefore, I was just wondering if it is common in America/Canada. I don't live over there, so there is no way for me to know stuff like that, hence me asking the question since a lot of people watching Abby's videos do live there.
That’s not a healthy mindset. If you look to other nutritionists a lot of them would not recommend Abby’s philosophy of “intuitive eating”. She’s been called out a lot so I wouldn’t trust her at all.

@@punkqueen5664 The triggering pertains to eating disorders some people have. To them, even normal things such as calories, weight scales, diet examples, can trigger a bulimia/anorexic episode, for example. We should not judge, this is a product of our sick society.
I don’t eat bread because I have been holistically healing Crohn’s disease (it worked!!) but honestly I never liked bread much and I don’t miss it lol. I love the way I eat now, idk. Maybe I’m just weird. I never liked pancakes either, even as a little kid 🤣
Thanks for highlighting the risk of no period. I had an eating disorder as a teenager and never got a period. Found out I had osteoporosis at 19 years old. I’m 29 now, a mom of two, and am thankfully able to breastfeed. I haven’t had any fractures yet but the health of my bones is something that I think about quite often.
I also found out I had osteoporosis at 16 years old, so I think about this often as well - wish it were talked about more. Thank you for sharing - I'm so encouraged to hear that you are doing well

I think I was stuggling for a while with undereating myself, but only for a short time and I am 35, regular periods - so nothing dramatic. I just want to be healthy, have normal body fat and muscles. My issue is that there is such a huge amount of info regarding eating and workout, which contradict itself - I am so confused now about how many meals I should have, when to have the last one…. Even “experts” have often different approach towards this. I don’t want to starve or have less vitamins and minerals, but I don’t know how to deal with meals when I workout or go for very long hikes where I need more energy. Sugar is really demonized around me. Fat as well. I eat fruits and I love 70% cocoa chocolate. However, when I eat this my friend who is a trainer tells me it is too much, app I use (only sometimes) says the same. But on this channel I found out, that this tiny piece of chocolate is nothing and I still eat less sugar than I should. I am lost. So confusing.
I'm so sorry! That's so awful. This needs to be talked about more. I think when we are young we take our body's ability to heal for granted, we don't realize that yes, there can be permanent implications. Well, with ED sometimes the goal is coping with life and they are in too much pain to worry about the future, but for most kids with disordered eating habits watching these influencers that information could really help them

If you feel like tracking calories would be a good decision for you, just focus on protein, and for the rest of it, just eat as healthy as is possible for you.
I’m italian and i literally eat bread every morning and pasta like 4 times a week( bc my nonna cooks too well haha) and I can tell you I’m far from being fat and so is everybody else hear so please don’t listen to her and don’t cut carbs to get “skinny” they’re too good
No no no…carbs here in America is worst then in Italy. My husband and I (doctor and nurse) super into diet and wonder why the Italians were so small in comparison to America…we took a trip down there last month. Turns out the carbs you guys eat is closer to the source, while in America our carbs are so heavily processed. Also, the oils America use is even worst…the oils we use (vegetable oil) is used in almost all our foods and that oil screws up with our mitochondria, which is the cell that helps with energy (ATP) makes it harder to make ATP among other things. There are studies and science to back this up. Italians use olive oil which is extremely healthy and a big deference in why Italians are some of the healthiest people in the word (particularly as you guys get older) It’s possible that the oils contribute to obesity more than the processed carbs even but there’s no hard evidence for that.
Just please don't mix things up! You're skinny DESPITE eating pasta and bread, not because of it. Pasta and bread have pretty much no nutritional value whatsoever, that's why it's not recommended if you're on low calorie diet

She has to keep her body looking like that with a super low calorie diet because the truth is that’s why people go to her videos. Because she has an aspirational body and she is aware of this. She doesn’t offer anything else. Without it, she would lose followers and views because her workout videos aren’t anything expectational. Her entire following is built on her body, that’s how she markets herself, she’s dug her own self into this hole, so she’ll have to eat low af and maintain this no matter how hungry, miserable and destroying herself from the insides she is.
You hit the nail on the head. Sadly, I don’t think she would want to follow any of Abby’s gentle diet tips. She doesn’t want to eat more. She knows what she’s doing.
@@lainiritsch2192 The fact that she wants to get leaner is so alarming to me. But it’s her own fault really, she sold herself to the internet for her body instead of actually interesting content and personality so now she has to stay ‘hot body chick’ or people will move on.
I remember her posting a photo of her butt with something like: ‘showing your body is not bad. Everyone is made differently and should feel beautiful no matter what society expects us to look like’ 💀 she is so disconnected from regular people in my opinion. It made me feel so bad for her. She is exactly what society expects women to look like. It horrifies me to make a whole career out of eating a low calorie diet, I think I would be so unhappy.

Activated charcoal is no joke. I take a strong anti anxiety medication and started taking activated charcoal for "bloating" and it messed up my medication so bad I nearly had a mental break. It should not be so easy to use and consume as it currently is.
It's used in hospitals to treat certain overdoses for exactly this reason; I've had similar supplement issues (magnesium and IBS-D is a nope) and it is way too easy to do serious damage with OTC stuff.
When I eat a banana, I'm pleased with myself for eating another serving of fruit and the various nutrients that come with it. It's so strange to see that some people are actually concerned about the carbs that come with bananas, as if it's somehow...unhealthy to eat a piece of fruit??? Though I don't usually eat a whole banana at a time anymore. I'm more likely to freeze it in bites, then cover it with chocolate. It's a yummy dessert, especially when I've run out of ice cream and won't let myself go to the store again until I'm also out of veggies. ^_^

My inability to eat small servings is why I end up ice-cream-less for several days between grocery-shopping trips. I just can’t imagine being low carb, I honestly think a lot of women cut out carbs under the guise of low carb diet but it is really just a way to cut calories more, when I eat just protein and veggies I’m starving!!!
I'm with you, girl. A good balance of macros has always been good for me. A protein goal range is my only guideline - fats and carbs get filled in as I feel I need them! I've never done well on low carb nor low fat and neither of those are even necessary.
If you eat low carb you need to eat higher fat, which does make you really full. I eat eggs and bacon or avocado with full fat Greek yoghurt and low carb berries for breakfast and it keeps me full for hours.
I agree. I personally believe in incorporating carbs, protein, and fat in my diet because each has its own purpose for a reason, in my opinion. With the exception of medical conditions that require specific dietary needs and necessary restrictions, it's really not necessary to cut out a group (not including religious and lifestyle choices). People are over complicating it
So basically what I got from this video is I’m in an extreme calorie deficit and that’s why I’m not getting optimal results from my workouts. This video was extremely informational for me and helped me realize a lot. I guess I was viewing food just like this girl. I’m very glad I watched this video.
I recovered from OCD and I realized that I was developing an unhealthy relationship with food. Abbey's video really helped me to reset my mindset about food but also about working out and, essentially, myself. Now, roughly 1,5 years after I found this channel, I feel so much better and I thoroughly enjoy every video :)
@@makeupmadness2010 Not speaking for OP here, but I got diagnosed w OCD almost 10 years ago and would consider my state of mild daily symptoms as (almost) recovered, as it doesn’t currently impede my life. Of course I still have work to do, but I am happy to be where I am!
So I am basically saying I don’t think I personally will ever be symptom free, but I am recovered in a way, having my symptoms be largely unnoticed by other people, and not as hinders :)

It's like Confusion Perpetual State said, I can now live with it and I even notice when I develop unhealthy patterns (as with food, excessive training and other things!) and I can try my best to kill these habits early and speak to my therapist about it.

You should review Old Hollywood Diets- like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, etc: There are several accounts of what they would eat in a day. Judy Garland is a good example of how toxic Hollywood was back then (and it continues to be today tbh). It would be interesting to see a modern dietician's view on this! Great Video as always 🍒👍
@@cristinaelisabet9370 I read somewhere that Audery Hepburn's digestive system was severely damaged because had to survive off flour made from tulips during WWII (which I think is toxic?). It caused significant issues for her, her body wasn't able to absorb nutrients properly for the rest of her life and she had trouble eating/digesting a lot of foods. It's why she was so thin her whole life (according to what I read).
Sourdough is delicious. I love two ways esp: with butter and homemade blood orange marmalade or with extra virgin olive oil and cottage cheese-- lots of pepper.
Thank you for calling out this unfair demonization of bread! I had a personal trainer recently tell me my sourdough bread avocado toast for breakfast that day was 90% of my daily carbs that I was “allowed” to have. I’m so tired of people saying you need to “eat clean” to be healthy, honestly what does that even mean.
I used to be a PT, i never gave dietary advice, always reminding my clients that although i can guide, i am NOT a dietitian. Unless qualified to, they should stay within the boundaries on exercise.
I had a trainer tell me basically that carbs are the devil and to really limit them. At the time I was morbidly obese and had no idea. Thankfully I didn't listen to her, ate the carbs and lost 140 pounds
I just started intuitive eating. Best thing I've ever done. I never realized how much stress I was carrying all the time when I would worry about dieting or what others thought of my body shape. I have a long way to go to work on my food issues but for once I'm so excited to have a healthy relationship with my food and myself.

Growing up in an Ashkenazi Jewish family we put celery powder or celery salt in fuckin everything, and I haven’t died yet! It’s fine, and makes your egg salad and tuna salad super super tasty!
Honestly celery itself is a huge hate for me 😂 I seriously cannot eat it cooked or raw, and I love most veggies so I don't feel bad to avoid it. But even I consider celery powder/celery salt an absolute staple in potato salad, deviled eggs, etc. 😂

7:06 YES. People in the Netherlands be like: try me. We eat bread for breakfast lunch and dinner. Though the stuff we put on our bread isn't the most creative as it is mostly cheese(and mustard) on most days😅
Same with Germans. Bread at every meal. Everyday a different kind. We call dinner "Abendbrot" which translates to "evening bread", because we often eat bread at our final meal of the day.
I'm so glad I followed Vicky Justiz in my journey to a healthier weight two years ago. I love how healthy she is and preaches to not be scared of carbs. She encourages her audience to have a healthy relationship with food.

Watching your channel has truly changed my view on food! I used to diet very harshly, I was obsessed with eating only foods that were "healthy", and I would feel immense amounts of guilt for eating something that I would have considered cheating on my diet. Once when I was watching a video of yours a little while ago you said, "unless you stole it, all food is guilt free," and that really stuck with me. Since then I've been able to greatly improve my relationship with food and watching videos like this really helps me to understand nutrition better and allows me to continue making improvements to my mindset! I agree that "counting macros" isn't part of the Intuitive Eating mentality, but I think that it's possible to incorporate nutritional guidance and knowledge into Intuitive Eating in practice. Aiming for your gentle-type nutrition suggestions can be a goal within a framework of listening to one's own cues, as long as you still listen carefully. So if you know in practice eating a solid amount of protein per meal is good but just don't feel it when you sit down to your plate today, it's okay to choose something different at that moment. But yeah, whatever Daisy is doing here is obviously not this.
Thank GOD there are videos like this made by ACTUAL professionals to set the record straight. This sounds harsh but a lot of these fitness influencers are really dim and do not realise or care about the potential harm they’re doing 🙃🙃🙃

Their eating pattern is definitely not ideal. But we have to consider the fact that they’re models. It’s their job to “intentionally trying to have a flat tummy and a big booty”. They’re making their livings out of it
she also makes a living out of selling her health advice, despite having no credentials and an unhealthy relationship with food. nobody would be critiquing her diet if she wasn’t putting out videos promoting, and making money from it.
That should be the case everywhere. They didn't exist until I was an adult, I remember trying red bull at 19 and I literally spat it out and never tried any others since, and I'm 34 now 😂

I think Abbey is very professional in the way she reviews influencers diets. Great video! Made me realize I am still in a “diet” mindset with some foods. I always did the half banana thing 😂. I was told too much sugar don’t eat a whole one lol. How silly is that?!
As a Jamaican, we eat alot of carbs (ground provision) like yam, dumpling, sweet potato, Irish potato, white rice and bread (whole wheat and white), cassava. It's quite filling for us, especially men, sorry but no carbs only leaves my belly mostly empty 😂😂🤣💕🇯🇲

This is why I love you Abbey! So firm and yet so kind. Thanks for always steering us in the right direction. I would so love to see you review Autumn Bates intermittent fasting channel. Bought her program before finding your channel and the main recommendation was to have a smoothie for breakfast which for some reason I couldn’t ever get into doing. It made me feel guilty and like I was failing the program if I couldn’t replace one of my meals with a smoothie or workout on an empty stomach.

For those asking about the stigma around bread in North America I have some answers! Because of our ability to make everything unhealthy and cheap, the most readily available bread to us is white bread filled with preservatives and a ton of sugar, the ‘wonder white bread’ is typical. That does not mean we dont have amazing bakeries who bake fresh and delicious sourdough, rye or nice breads. BUT people refer to the wonder white bread as the baseline, in which it is not healthy or very good for you. But I agree, good fresh bread is amazing and its not the enemy and it’s unfortunate that so many people fail to see this!

It’s really irresponsible for any influencer to give false information, especially as they know they are held as a beauty standard. This video reminded me of WHY we need people like abbey sharp...to give us a reality check on why we should love ourselves and our body, and how we can nurture ourselves properly
Yes this needed to be said! So many fitness influencers out there giving incredibly incorrect information. I used to be one of these girls that thought I could change my genetics just by following their diets/starving myself/overly training my body. Thank god I found science
I love your honest comments. This is so so so so so helpful. Intuitive eating is hard and sometimes people try to do that, but it’s actually a very advanced technique if your eating habits are out of tune to begin with.

It took me YEARS to unlearn the idea of “good” and “bad” food. I used to restrict myself from eating “bad” food so much that I would end up binge eating it all and feeling sick after.
The flat tummy bit really doesn't make sense to me. I just think back to when I was 10-12 and I was tiny, but my stomach has never been flat.... because my stomach just isn't built that way
Same, I have abs, I am extremely thin and petite, I still have a pouch since my body is simply not built to have a completely flat tummy where my uterus is. Shocking to see younger girls idolizing the completely flat tummy models and then beat themselves up for not achieving that standard since they don’t understand that different bodies are built differently.

Your healthy view on food is so refreshing! I’ve been unhappy with my body for a while. I was the biggest girl in my ballet class which influenced my view on my body at a young age, especially when an entire wall was a mirror. I used to just stand in front of it wondering whether I had a thigh gap, what a thigh gap even was, and whether or not it was a good thing to have. My family are also all super fit - my brother and sister are naturally very thin, my mum runs a lot, and my dad is a world-champion 1500m runner. As I got older, stuff started piling up. There was a solid few months when I couldn’t look in the mirror because every time I did I started crying. I’m lucky Covid cancelled my prom because I was planning to starve myself in the run up. I’m on study leave and recently I’ve been eating a meal a day. But I woke up today and decided to take another approach - I’ve made a beginner’s workout routine and I’m learning about what amount of food is actually healthy for me. This is one of the biggest things that i love in my country (Brazil) you just can't give advice about food intake our exercise if you are not a nutricionist or a physical exercise professional ( minimum of 4 years university).

As someone who is recovered (as far as you can be) the feeling of just eating and enjoying life again is seriously so much better than any kind of thin body I could ever have. I remember when I'd ditch my friends and not go out because I thought coffee with milk has too many calories, let alone a meal or alcohol. So girl EAT THE BREAD!! Life's seriously too short to stay away from anything that would make you happy. And ngl bread is life :D

Is the no carbs thing like an American/ Canadian thing? I'm Dutch and I eat bread for breakfast and lunch, it's like a staple food here in the Netherlands.
Completely no! I would say that most of Americans even eat too many carbs - a lot of sweets, processed food, pancakes, bread etc. But low carb or keto diet unfortunately is getting popular in global medias, not only in USA or Canada, by diet culture. many popular celebrities are trying this and making videos, so you might have a feeling that it’s American thing. In fact, as I said, it’s only like this in social media, in reality a few people are actually on low carb diet.
It’s a staple food in America too. This is about extreme dieting in case you didn’t notice?

Therefore, I was just wondering if it is common in America/Canada. That’s not a healthy mindset. If you look to other nutritionists a lot of them would not recommend Abby’s philosophy of “intuitive eating”. She’s been called out a lot so I wouldn’t trust her at all.

@@punkqueen5664 The triggering pertains to eating disorders some people have. To them, even normal things such as calories, weight scales, diet examples, can trigger a bulimia/anorexic episode, for example.
We should not judge, this is a product of our sick society.

I don’t eat bread because I have been holistically healing Crohn’s disease (it worked!!) but honestly I never liked bread much and I don’t miss it lol. I love the way I eat now, idk. Maybe I’m just weird. I never liked pancakes either, even as a little kid 🤣
Thanks for highlighting the risk of no period. I had an eating disorder as a teenager and never got a period. Found out I had osteoporosis at 19 years old. I’m 29 now, a mom of two, and am thankfully able to breastfeed. I haven’t had any fractures yet but the health of my bones is something that I think about quite often.

@@graysoncamille hey, also Kamila here 😊 wow, that is terrible… how are you able to keep yourself from getting injured? I also wonder what to eat to support my bones and skin. I think I was stuggling for a while with undereating myself, but only for a short time and I am 35, regular periods - so nothing dramatic. I just want to be healthy, have normal body fat and muscles. My issue is that there is such a huge amount of info regarding eating and workout, which contradict itself - I am so confused now about how many meals I should have, when to have the last one…. Even “experts” have often different approach towards this. I don’t want to starve or have less vitamins and minerals, but I don’t know how to deal with meals when I workout or go for very long hikes where I need more energy. Sugar is really demonized around me. Fat as well. I eat fruits and I love 70% cocoa chocolate. However, when I eat this my friend who is a trainer tells me it is too much, app I use (only sometimes) says the same. But on this channel I found out, that this tiny piece of chocolate is nothing and I still eat less sugar than I should. I am lost. So confusing.
I'm so sorry! That's so awful. This needs to be talked about more. I think when we are young we take our body's ability to heal for granted, we don't realize that yes, there can be permanent implications. Well, with ED sometimes the goal is coping with life and they are in too much pain to worry about the future, but for most kids with disordered eating habits watching these influencers that information could really help them

No no no…carbs here in America is worst then in Italy. My husband and I (doctor and nurse) super into diet and wonder why the Italians were so small in comparison to America…we took a trip down there last month. Turns out the carbs you guys eat is closer to the source, while in America our carbs are so heavily processed. Also, the oils America use is even worst…the oils we use (vegetable oil) is used in almost all our foods and that oil screws up with our mitochondria, which is the cell that helps with energy (ATP) makes it harder to make ATP among other things. There are studies and science to back this up. Italians use olive oil which is extremely healthy and a big deference in why Italians are some of the healthiest people in the word (particularly as you guys get older) It’s possible that the oils contribute to obesity more than the processed carbs even but there’s no hard evidence for that.
Just please don't mix things up! You're skinny DESPITE eating pasta and bread, not because of it. Pasta and bread have pretty much no nutritional value whatsoever, that's why it's not recommended if you're on low calorie diet

She has to keep her body looking like that with a super low calorie diet because the truth is that’s why people go to her videos. Because she has an aspirational body and she is aware of this. She doesn’t offer anything else. Without it, she would lose followers and views because her workout videos aren’t anything expectational. Her entire following is built on her body, that’s how she markets herself, she’s dug her own self into this hole, so she’ll have to eat low af and maintain this no matter how hungry, miserable and destroying herself from the insides she is.
You hit the nail on the head. Sadly, I don’t think she would want to follow any of Abby’s gentle diet tips. She doesn’t want to eat more. She knows what she’s doing.

I remember her posting a photo of her butt with something like: ‘showing your body is not bad. Everyone is made differently and should feel beautiful no matter what society expects us to look like’ 💀 she is so disconnected from regular people in my opinion.
It made me feel so bad for her. She is exactly what society expects women to look like. It horrifies me to make a whole career out of eating a low calorie diet, I think I would be so unhappy.

Activated charcoal is no joke. I take a strong anti anxiety medication and started taking activated charcoal for "bloating" and it messed up my medication so bad I nearly had a mental break. It should not be so easy to use and consume as it currently is.
Active charcoal can bind anything really in intestines. Most of the medications also,but also many good things that would otherwise be absorbed.

It's used in hospitals to treat certain overdoses for exactly this reason; I've had similar supplement issues (magnesium and IBS-D is a nope) and it is way too easy to do serious damage with OTC stuff.
My clients at work that use charcoal deodorant and face products usually have extremely distressed and irritated skin as well
When I eat a banana, I'm pleased with myself for eating another serving of fruit and the various nutrients that come with it. It's so strange to see that some people are actually concerned about the carbs that come with bananas, as if it's somehow...unhealthy to eat a piece of fruit???
Though I don't usually eat a whole banana at a time anymore. I'm more likely to freeze it in bites, then cover it with chocolate. It's a yummy dessert, especially when I've run out of ice cream and won't let myself go to the store again until I'm also out of veggies. ^_^

I just can’t imagine being low carb, I honestly think a lot of women cut out carbs under the guise of low carb diet but it is really just a way to cut calories more, when I eat just protein and veggies I’m starving!!!
I'm with you, girl. A good balance of macros has always been good for me. A protein goal range is my only guideline - fats and carbs get filled in as I feel I need them! I've never done well on low carb nor low fat and neither of those are even necessary.
If you eat low carb you need to eat higher fat, which does make you really full. I eat eggs and bacon or avocado with full fat Greek yoghurt and low carb berries for breakfast and it keeps me full for hours.
I agree. I personally believe in incorporating carbs, protein, and fat in my diet because each has its own purpose for a reason, in my opinion. With the exception of medical conditions that require specific dietary needs and necessary restrictions, it's really not necessary to cut out a group (not including religious and lifestyle choices). People are over complicating it

So basically what I got from this video is I’m in an extreme calorie deficit and that’s why I’m not getting optimal results from my workouts. This video was extremely informational for me and helped me realize a lot. I guess I was viewing food just like this girl. I’m very glad I watched this video.

I recovered from OCD and I realized that I was developing an unhealthy relationship with food. Abbey's video really helped me to reset my mindset about food but also about working out and, essentially, myself. Now, roughly 1,5 years after I found this channel, I feel so much better and I thoroughly enjoy every video :)

@@makeupmadness2010 Not speaking for OP here, but I got diagnosed w OCD almost 10 years ago and would consider my state of mild daily symptoms as (almost) recovered, as it doesn’t currently impede my life. Of course I still have work to do, but I am happy to be where I am!
So I am basically saying I don’t think I personally will ever be symptom free, but I am recovered in a way, having my symptoms be largely unnoticed by other people, and not as hinders :)

It's like Confusion Perpetual State said, I can now live with it and I even notice when I develop unhealthy patterns (as with food, excessive training and other things!) and I can try my best to kill these habits early and speak to my therapist about it.
I can only imagine how much time it takes to find real studies, read through those studies, and then report the information back to a viewer in an easy to understand way. You should review Old Hollywood Diets- like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, etc: There are several accounts of what they would eat in a day. Judy Garland is a good example of how toxic Hollywood was back then (and it continues to be today tbh). It would be interesting to see a modern dietician's view on this! Great Video as always 🍒👍

@@cristinaelisabet9370 I read somewhere that Audery Hepburn's digestive system was severely damaged because had to survive off flour made from tulips during WWII (which I think is toxic?). It caused significant issues for her, her body wasn't able to absorb nutrients properly for the rest of her life and she had trouble eating/digesting a lot of foods. It's why she was so thin her whole life (according to what I read).

Thank you for calling out this unfair demonization of bread! I had a personal trainer recently tell me my sourdough bread avocado toast for breakfast that day was 90% of my daily carbs that I was “allowed” to have. I’m so tired of people saying you need to “eat clean” to be healthy, honestly what does that even mean.
Personoal trainers should NOT be giving diet advice or telling you what you're ALLOWED to eat.
I used to be a PT, i never gave dietary advice, always reminding my clients that although i can guide, i am NOT a dietitian. Unless qualified to, they should stay within the boundaries on exercise.

I had a trainer tell me basically that carbs are the devil and to really limit them. At the time I was morbidly obese and had no idea. Thankfully I didn't listen to her, ate the carbs and lost 140 pounds

I just started intuitive eating. Best thing I've ever done. I never realized how much stress I was carrying all the time when I would worry about dieting or what others thought of my body shape. I have a long way to go to work on my food issues but for once I'm so excited to have a healthy relationship with my food and myself.

Growing up in an Ashkenazi Jewish family we put celery powder or celery salt in fuckin everything, and I haven’t died yet! It’s fine, and makes your egg salad and tuna salad super super tasty!

Honestly celery itself is a huge hate for me 😂 I seriously cannot eat it cooked or raw, and I love most veggies so I don't feel bad to avoid it. But even I consider celery powder/celery salt an absolute staple in potato salad, deviled eggs, etc. 😂

I used to diet very harshly, I was obsessed with eating only foods that were "healthy", and I would feel immense amounts of guilt for eating something that I would have considered cheating on my diet. Once when I was watching a video of yours a little while ago you said, "unless you stole it, all food is guilt free," and that really stuck with me. Since then I've been able to greatly improve my relationship with food and watching videos like this really helps me to understand nutrition better and allows me to continue making improvements to my mindset! I agree that "counting macros" isn't part of the Intuitive Eating mentality, but I think that it's possible to incorporate nutritional guidance and knowledge into Intuitive Eating in practice. Aiming for your gentle-type nutrition suggestions can be a goal within a framework of listening to one's own cues, as long as you still listen carefully. So if you know in practice eating a solid amount of protein per meal is good but just don't feel it when you sit down to your plate today, it's okay to choose something different at that moment. But yeah, whatever Daisy is doing here is obviously not this.

Their eating pattern is definitely not ideal. But we have to consider the fact that they’re models. It’s their job to “intentionally trying to have a flat tummy and a big booty”. They’re making their livings out of it

That should be the case everywhere. They didn't exist until I was an adult, I remember trying red bull at 19 and I literally spat it out and never tried any others since, and I'm 34 now 😂

I think Abbey is very professional in the way she reviews influencers diets. Great video! Made me realize I am still in a “diet” mindset with some foods. I always did the half banana thing 😂. I was told too much sugar don’t eat a whole one lol. How silly is that?!
As a Jamaican, we eat alot of carbs (ground provision) like yam, dumpling, sweet potato, Irish potato, white rice and bread (whole wheat and white), cassava. It's quite filling for us, especially men, sorry but no carbs only leaves my belly mostly empty 😂😂🤣💕🇯🇲

Bought her program before finding your channel and the main recommendation was to have a smoothie for breakfast which for some reason I couldn’t ever get into doing. It made me feel guilty and like I was failing the program if I couldn’t replace one of my meals with a smoothie or workout on an empty stomach.

For those asking about the stigma around bread in North America I have some answers! Because of our ability to make everything unhealthy and cheap, the most readily available bread to us is white bread filled with preservatives and a ton of sugar, the ‘wonder white bread’ is typical. That does not mean we dont have amazing bakeries who bake fresh and delicious sourdough, rye or nice breads. BUT people refer to the wonder white bread as the baseline, in which it is not healthy or very good for you.
But I agree, good fresh bread is amazing and its not the enemy and it’s unfortunate that so many people fail to see this!

Influencer culture makes you feel like moving and eating healthy is a chore or punishment for your “bad” looks or body. Deleted social media, deleted my own idolization of influencers....now I love to cook to feed my body natural vitamins and nutrition, and I love to move my body to remind me I’m strong and check in with myself. It’s really irresponsible for any influencer to give false information, especially as they know they are held as a beauty standard. This video reminded me of WHY we need people like abbey sharp...to give us a reality check on why we should love ourselves and our body, and how we can nurture ourselves properly

It took me YEARS to unlearn the idea of “good” and “bad” food. I used to restrict myself from eating “bad” food so much that I would end up binge eating it all and feeling sick after.

The flat tummy bit really doesn't make sense to me. I just think back to when I was 10-12 and I was tiny, but my stomach has never been flat.... because my stomach just isn't built that way

Same, I have abs, I am extremely thin and petite, I still have a pouch since my body is simply not built to have a completely flat tummy where my uterus is. Shocking to see younger girls idolizing the completely flat tummy models and then beat themselves up for not achieving that standard since they don’t understand that different bodies are built differently.

This does work, because it stops the alcohol from being absorbed, so you wouldn't get the effects from alcohol at all

I’ve been listening to your videos while doing my stretching routines for a week, and I got to say I’m learning a lot and your voice is very soothing!
Your healthy view on food is so refreshing! I’ve been unhappy with my body for a while. I was the biggest girl in my ballet class which influenced my view on my body at a young age, especially when an entire wall was a mirror. I used to just stand in front of it wondering whether I had a thigh gap, what a thigh gap even was, and whether or not it was a good thing to have. My family are also all super fit - my brother and sister are naturally very thin, my mum runs a lot, and my dad is a world-champion 1500m runner. As I got older, stuff started piling up. There was a solid few months when I couldn’t look in the mirror because every time I did I started crying. I’m lucky Covid cancelled my prom because I was planning to starve myself in the run up. I’m on study leave and recently I’ve been eating a meal a day. But I woke up today and decided to take another approach - I’ve made a beginner’s workout routine and I’m learning about what amount of food is actually healthy for me. Sorry for the long comment but I want you to know how grateful I am for helping me in my journey to be healthier and look the way I want!
