I so admire how to care for your mom. I am retired for three years and care for my mom as well. It is a blessing, but also a process as well. I also have a daughter in college as well. I have not yet found the quiet downtime that I thought retirement would bring. I am busier how than I was before, but it is nice not to have to juggle work in the process of everyday life.
@@kathyfrederking2298 yes my retirement is coming at a good time because I’m needing to help her more! I’m so grateful that God has led us this. I was so naive in understanding what all this would be like. Just never really thought much about it and then was in shock. 😳
They say you get busier after retirement!
We’re having similar weather here in Northeast Florida, we call it “wrap and peel” cool in the morning, very warm in the afternoon. I really love it. 😊I’m 2 weeks into my retirement and I haven’t slowed down yet! My mind and dogs still wake up at 5am, I’ll be glad when that changes.
@@JeanShuford enjoy the retirement! So jealous! I can’t wait.
Definitely interested in emergency planning
I’ll work on this as a topic and share my specifics.
I’m watching this video on the 19th of November so you are now very close to retirement which is so exciting. My husband and I are retired and we love it so much. Loved the great 80s outfits, great fun.
Thx for watching. Yes so close I can sniff it lol! Only 15 total days left in all.
Yay, the deer! Don’t stress about the vlogging.
This blog was so good. I love your Halloween costume and also your friends at work. Tell them thank you. I love how you take care of your Mom ❤️
@@rosamondhazell2149 thank you. My work buds are fun. Good people and I’m gonna miss them.
Your hair looks so nice! About being prepared for the unexpected, I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and my mother always had a box of canned goods in the cabinet for hurricanes, just in case. Never hurts to be a little prepared. 😊
Yes! Apparently we need to be prepared for hurricanes too lol- in middle YN we get the flood warnings. Once everything flooded around us in our community- main streets, neighborhoods, and interstates, but we were up high and ok.
I am loving your short hair! I’m sitting here on patio with my morning coffee, watching your video and I’m so excited for your upcoming retirement! It’s been 5 months since I retired and after adjusting to taking care of mom and dad AND learning how to PLAN a life for myself that includes fun trips, and just simple ‘Me Time,’ I can honestly say that life is good 😊
That’s so wonderful! I’ve looked forward to this moment for a long time.
We left for Walmart at 8:30 and got back at 11, lol😊
I know - it’s a time warp of some sort! lol
I just love your vlogs…. Can’t wait to see you enjoy retirement. Grocery shopping is the worst chore …. I do grocery pickup 80% of the time.
Thank you for watching! George and I love to grocery shop. I guess that’s why we usually don’t pick up. I’d spend more time on line picking it out and would order 3 batches of bananas instead of 3 bananas lol!
We did a 50's themed party at work years ago. My granny still had a black and white checkered poodle skirt. I bought a white shirt and a black scarf to wear around my neck and one in my hair with candy apple lipstick. I had so much fun that night. Those poodle skirts were made for dancing!
@@staynyourlane422 Yes, the 50’s is a fun party!
I schedule to watch you guys every Saturday while eating breakfast. Love, love your channel! ❤
@@michellecalvin413 That’s so nice! Thank you! Bon appetite:-)!
So excited for you, you can officially say ‘next month.’ Looking forward to your videos in 2025. I’m right behind you in February, and I hear you on the days, sometimes it flies by and sometimes it’s slloowwww. 🏃🏽♀️➡️🐛 I work remote, and my team all does the same work so no having to train anyone, but I’ll definitely give enough notice. I plan on working part-time side hustles, full-time work really takes up all your energy at times, sometimes leaves little time and energy for anything else. Thank you for the 80’s flashback, leg warmers, headbands, neon colors, I miss those days, I remember when aerobics classes were all the rage.
@@Lulusvideos1 Retirement will be fun for you too! Feb will be here before you blink. Remember Jane Fonda and Olivia Newton John in their fitness routines lol?
Good morning!!! You are getting closer and closer to retirement!!!! So excited 🎉
Yes. As of today only 16 more days to work. Period. :-)
@ that’s great!!!! 😃 I know you are doing the happy dance 💃
Yes!
Loved the video. Funny, I had the same urge to start prepping for the unexpected. I cleaned my pantry shelves, relined and must get more supplies. I have a RO water system but did something I never do, bought bottled water. My son and his family lived in TX during the ice storm. Oh, the stories of what they and others went through. The saddest was people who were on oxygen or other life support things that required electric and battery back up. The batteries went dead and the hero’s that helped them. Yes, be prepared. I am not a Halloween person, but those outfits were fabulous! The girl on the big black phone was hilarious. Have a good week and looking forward to next Saturdays video.
I’m not a Halloween person either -from an evil standpoint - but I love reeces and the eighties lol. Yeah I think we should be somewhat prepared. I’ll be working more on it soon.
I just recently found your channel and really enjoy watching. We actually live really close to each other. I live in Cookeville! I look forward to seeing more videos from you!
That is awesome! We almost came there to shop this month but it didn’t work out. It’s in our excursion list though- even if it’s spring time.
So great, your retirement day 12/20 is my husband's birthday, he still believes he has blond hair, just going with it. We are in Western NC about 1hr from Ashville, were without power and water 8 days, but we survived. 😊
Oh bless you - so glad you were able to get through all the weather and off grid situation. Lol on the hubby blonde hair. George thought his was still brown for a while. lol
How many hours does it take you to drive to Texas
@kathleenessig541 It’s about 14. So we stop in Hot Springs. It’s two hours West of Dallas.
Look in to Carvana, I sold my Mustang on there and got more for it. They come and pick it up and take it away. Really easy to do the process. Love the 80s costume with the work gang . I have always been prepared from when I grew up in Ohio I lived 10 miles to a store so I always was a prepper . Still am now in live in Flordia you have to be. I have made mine up to retire the last day being February 28. I will be turning 65 I’m tired and stressed from work to much on my mind and body don’t need it
@@pamelaking4414 Yes. That’s what we used! It’s done! :-) ✔️
@@pamelaking4414 oh…Your retirement will come soon. It’s hard waiting though lol!
Try to enjoy the slow down at work, now that you're finished with training your replacement. I'm sure you've earned it. When I retired I gave 3 weeks notice (because I knew they would try to talk me out of leaving 🤣). I'll admit that retirement has been quiet an adjustment, I still have a lot of days that I feel completely useless 😢, but I wouldn't change being retired🤗
I am enjoying it, mostly. I have so much to do in retirement that it will be a long while, if ever, before I get bored. The RUclips, and Mom, and home projects and lots of hobbies and church work helps. Family to visit, dogs, friends to see. I’m so excited. And to rest and sleep and cook and make bread and try new things!
Crazy Halloween Day at work! Loved it! 🎃🎃 BOO!
Great Video! Love your Hair.
@@karenzirk6800 thank you so much!
i love the 80s party !! sounds like so much fun !!
I love your top on the day you went to Walmart. What is the brand and where did you get it 😀
The brand is Misia. I’m not sure where it came from. Might have been a pop up vendor at Christmas Village, TJ Maxx or Ross.
What do you plan on doing after retirement?
Catching up, helping Mom, resting, playing. Exercising, reorganizing and cleaning the house, painting some rooms, writing, working on video channel and cooking! :-) George and I will do some day excursions, read, play computer games and play with dogs. I’m so excited!
So happy and excited for you!
Thanks for sharing! Hope you had a great week!!
It sounds like you buy for an awful lot of people for Christmas. Other than your immediate family, how many other people do you buy for?
@@elizabethjones5571 We buy for about 15 people in our family and extended family. We don’t do extravagance, but practical gifts that are useful, needed and desired. We do multiple small gifts for each person to make it more fun. We have a few friends we buy for as well. Most of these are people we celebrate the season with in some form and give gifts to show our love and appreciation for them and help out their life situation.
Cream of Disaster
Yes! lol
