I wish Origin could be on Spotify. Some of these songs were AMAZING and I wish I didn't have to go to two different platforms to listen to all of Ev's songs. But I get the band's past.
My 16 year old cat passed away yesterday. I spent the day comforting her. I grew up with her, I got her when I was 8. This was the last song she ever heard. Part of me died with her. I will carry and cherish my memories with her for the rest of my life.

Majority of my friends didn't become aware of Evanescence until "Daredevil" with Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner was released. The song "Bring Me To Life" was the lead single on the soundtrack.
That wasn't the case for me. I heard this on the radio back in 2000 and instantly fell in love the band. I bought their album "Origin" the following day from Wal-Mart. I still got it.

The first song I heard of evanescence was my immortals, cliched i know but i was recommended by a friend, he only listened to that song aswell, but now that i dig deeper i regret not having done the digging a while back
my cousin introduced me to this band, she put it on the computer and me, her and her friends did nothing but sit and listen to the full album fallen. i remember getting spooked by the beginning of haunted.

OMG I feel so bad for you when I was 9 my cat that we got when I was born died. he only liked me and I never got to say goodbye. he ran away and lived with my neighbor for a few years and then came home again the day he died. I wasn't home though. I think all he wanted was to say goodbye to me. I was too late

This is my favorite song. Out of EVERYTHING I listen to (20k+songs), this is my favorite. I'm still hoping that one day I'll find her, the one I can run away with and fall in love with. And yes, this song has kept me from suicide as well. Many times.
A friend burned me a copy of this album way back when Evanescence first hit it big in 2003. I always enjoyed this album more than Fallen, and it was because of this song. The outro of "Where will you go" was on the original album and I always found that to be a perfect end to this song. It was the icing on the already beautiful cake that "Anywhere" had become.

Me and my husband were high-school sweethearts and we both listened to this all the time and would write parts of the lyrics on our letters we would write to each other when we were in different classes lol. Still love it to this day and we danced to it the day we got married 🙂

Scott Summers 'Origin' in itself was an incredible demo album. Considering Amy, Ben and David were all still teenagers at the time. It's amazing to hear the evolution of certain songs this the demo to how they appear on 'Fallen'. That's true talent for you.

The sister song to Radiohead's "Exit Music (For A Film)", but instead of being spiteful and pessimistic (or perhaps realist) it's naively idealistic and romantic.
