So yeah, the writers thought making a movie where a teen boy makes a game about his dead military father sleeping around with several women and murdering his step-father so he can plan to do it in real life and go to prison was a good idea.
I've never seen this film, but noticed the title.
but the thing that you have overlooked as that he didnt go to prison
he murdered his step dad and killed himself to join his dad.
Makes you question the sanity of said writers.
@@brick11223344 No, he went to prison. Rewatch the ending. He only uploaded a version of himself so his dad could have his son in the video game. The son killed the step-father and is shown in prison.
Even if that was the case, that's just as bad if not worse. Killing someone and then yourself to be with a dead relative is not a good message or story for anyone. That's just straight promoting suicide.

So the son creates a game about his father and manipulates the game to where his father has to kill his abusive stepfather. But in reality his father is actually out dead and he kills his stepfather. Then he joins the game to meet his father again while he's in prison for his stepfathers murder. I am TWILIGHT ZONE confused.
i think he is with his dad in his imagination. in prison, he can just sit alone with no distractions. really weird movie ending

Pretty sure he just uploaded a AI copy of himself into the game for his dad ai, that's In the game, and in real life hes In prison. But to have a child that young in prison is strange in itself

My question is, how did he make the father sentient/have consciousness? Like the father literally 'awakened' and all the others were npc's. I know it's a year later but I am literally obsessed with this movie.

yes i especially liked how the son wrote a game about his dead dad sleeping with several women and details of his stepdad's abuse. it was definitely touching and not at all weird or creepy

Just based off the recap (haven't watched the movie), it looks like real son programmed a digital son for his dad to fish with right before real son went to jail. It doesn't sound like there is consciousness upload tech in this world so digital dad was purely made by the son as well out of coping with his grief and is a construct of his imagination, not the real thing.
@@jamestk656 reading it spelled out actually makes me like the movie even less, what a ridiculous plot that’s using “confusion” in an attempt to replace “good writing”. the characters were so forgettable it’s almost shocking they got a literal ‘whose who’ of celebrities to act in almost every major role.

I’m sorry but this plot is absolutely terrible - the “twist” @ 7:45 is so remarkably stupid it’s actually frightening. I couldn’t even watch this seriously after that, what nonsense. I don’t see many people that disagree, so glad I’m not alone.

I’m more confused from the comment section. It seemed like the son was fighting some inner problems and everything was imagined except that he actually killed his step dad and went to prison. Even down to the dad making decisions seemed like a figment of the son’s imagination.
