They might not abandon it. Career mode on 2k games is a big part. But FIFA/EA career is free to play after purchase, you can also play it offline. With NBA 2k, you need to spend substantial money to enjoy career mode and because it's all based online, the parks and such, they can turn the servers off after a game lifecycle. 2k are ruthlessly greedy.
Its rose tinted glasses. A lot of these FIFA players and content creators only play FC/FIFA. They have no idea how other games are monetized. 2K is so monetized even its career mode is P2W. Thats also in its WWE game. 2K favors My Career over things like Myteam(which is their version of Ultimate team), bc mycareer players get used online. If 2K made a futbol game, they'd made a mode where you and a team of other players would be using mycareer players in online modes.

In NBA 2K you can download community files and squads. It might include real badges and kits and even rosters. Imagine download a game-supported patch on console, that's pretty much what that is. The community can solve the issue discussed in 2:30 to 2:38. Also 2K has expiremented with the idea of eras, retro start dates. NBA 2k has 5 eras : magic vs bird, jordan kobe lebron and modern. Examples for a football game can be : 2003/04, 2007/08 2011/12, 2015/16 and the modern start date. This feature can be found in MyNBA on NBA 2K. All the features you mentioned are real possibilities. But you forgot stadium creator
Exept NBA 2k only needed to get the licenses of one league. If they make retro eras, then they'll need to get most great players from like 20 teams across 3 leagues.

I fully trust 2k. In the mid 2000s, they pushed EA all the way with their NFL 2K games, which caused EA to buy the exclusive license to NFL games. If anyone is going to challenge EA, its 2K. I'd fully expect them to create a very realistic game, but it will all cone down to licenses ultimately
It will be worth buying this game, if it has a qualification phase at its World Cup Mode, if you want to play as Laos, then you can do that or the Philippines, that's also possible. Kinda like FIFA Road to World Cup 97. Also qualification phase on Euro, Afcon and Asian Cup.
I just can’t wait for career mode. In 2k you can edit ANYTHING. And have your dream set up with transfers and editing players ratings and stuff and sim it and see what happens. I hope they do it like My League in NBA 2k.
The only features I ever wanted in fifa was to able to play with old teams like the way 2k does it. I wanna be able to play with 2005 Barca or man utd 2008. Just give us the options the way 2k does it.

Gameplay bro… Who tf cares about presentation.. it gets skipped anyways. i personally haven’t enjoyed a game since FIFA 16. NBA 2K stopped improving gameplay with NBA 2K20. But it’s still playable. It’s enjoyable, but it did get old. With FIFA it’ll be easier to improve because of how complex the game is. Skills, touches, dribbling, shots. FIFA competitions and Champions League at least.
i really hope we get an in depth career mode like NBA 2K. especially the stats and records. i love keeping tracks of statistics and records and right now fifa doesn't actually do that as effectively as NBA and i have to do so on my own in spreadsheets, which makes the game more fun for me, but it is really time consuming and would be easier if it was just built into the game. also player customization on the fly, like for eg if im doing a player CM and in my personal storyline i wanna switch clubs, i can just go put the player in that specific club and not have to start an entire new save or hope to get an offer from the club like you usually do. just basic little things that would make the CM experience more fun
Just for comparison in developers, EA have just released the 10th patch update for FC 24 since its release in September 2023 and the updates have been minimal. 2K Games' released WWE 2K24 for early access on pre-order FIVE DAYS AGO and for standard sale only YESTERDAY and already they've had THREE patch updates to fix a variety of bugs that affected gameplay! It seems that they actually care that their customers enjoy their products. EA, take note otherwise you're going to lose a ton of customers if 2K do go ahead with this.

I think if 2k makes a fifa game it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. For starters, if they do bring things from NBA 2k over to fifa, such as my career, build your own stadium, and being able to choose sponsors, that would be awesome, but let's also remember these modes souly depend on the server and once they're cut after a few years the game is mostly unplayable other than just a quick match. If they get rid of server dependency I think it would be a big competitor for EA. I think also adding lower division teams and USL teams would be awesome to see. It can break classist gaze, if we could call it that, on how we view professional football thus more options for considerations of loans and transfers plus a deeper buildup than just from 4th division.
Actually Major factor you missed is since EA has been with all the clubs and league licences and has exclusive rights over it, so no one will play FIFA2K since it would lack authenticity and it would become the next PES or EFootball as you say.

They need to have player career mode in the first game. its a must there is so many people that been waiting for that style of soccer. to make a player and play against others and customize it how you want. in fc24 they made volta and its good. but it lacks the interaction that is implemented in 2k.
If u look at a real football game in real life the ball follows a certain pattern in basketball it's sort of easy to see the game the way they simulate it. In football it's more difficult it could be fine tuned to the length of half you are using. In NHL video game they have a simulation feature wich defaults to half of the actual time of the game if they game was tuned in to at least 10min half's as default maybe things could get better in football games in general.

Football is a all different Sport compared to Basketball, so most of the features in Basketball games wont apply in Football Games, but ya, I got your point.

My brother in law plays nba2k and watching it just made me mad lol. The clsssic rosters and challenges involving them are so sick! Imagine lfc CM and one of the challenges is playing 2005 ucl final, starting at the half 😮
Only good thing about 2k doing Fifa in my opinion is they will probably add a mode similar to My Park like on NBA 2K, where you can wear regular clothing and play at random places

2k will make a good game, I don’t doubt that, but there’s so much fluff that exists in NBA 2k that isn’t necessary. Wandering around in a city where you have to pay money to unlock faster modes of transportation is highly frustrating. Things like that made me stop playing 2k

My brother in law plays nba2k and watching it just made me mad lol. The clsssic rosters and challenges involving them are so sick! Imagine lfc CM and one of the challenges is playing 2005 ucl final, starting at the half 😮
I hope this actually happens because the competition will actually force EA to make improvements to their game. It's a win for us consumers.
Only good thing about 2k doing Fifa in my opinion is they will probably add a mode similar to My Park like on NBA 2K, where you can wear regular clothing and play at random places

2k makes games much better than EA do, especially the details, 2k has a lot more settings, gameplay features, while EA is degrading with each new game, the gameplay in FIFA right now is terrible, absolutely unplayable

Be cool if they added the league teams below league 2 and can see them come up and down divisions too, showing the teams that sometimes creep into good fa cup runs woth full access to them at same time, with a whole new potential of upcoming young players close to home in the english game, and to also capture every football ground in uk football and worldwide instead of these mock up ones that haven't changed for years in fifa, with stats of each club and each player and their track run and history, how have none of these games started doing this yet? 2K will definitely be better than what EA produces. 2K at least adds new things that people want especially in the career modes. While EA only cares about Ultimate team. I think this was a good move.

Everyone who’s happy about 2K getting this game clearly hasn’t seen what’s been happening with NBA 2K24 and WWE 2K24. This is just as bad as EA handling the game but now they’ll include microtransactions in MyCareer. This doesn’t look good and although I will try to hope for the best, if it goes sideways I can say I saw it coming
2K gonna have yall paying 5$ for tattoos, 5$ for hair styles, 10$ for kits that walk around the online player hub in, VC to upgrade mycareer equivalent player. 2K has a lot of modes, options, creativity. But its not the happy grass is greener side yall think it is. NBA2K content creators make the same complaint/rant videos Inception makes, they make the same "this is the worst NBA2K" videos every year.
Fifa 2K will be more advanced than EA games, UFC should sign up with 2K as well for real! Need For Speed and NFL Should be the only games to partner with EA Sports, they never disappoint when it cones to those two games.

2k will make a good game, I don’t doubt that, but there’s so much fluff that exists in NBA 2k that isn’t necessary. Wandering around in a city where you have to pay money to unlock faster modes of transportation is highly frustrating. Things like that made me stop playing 2k
