    Great video Mark. Sense the video my setup on the Axiom is Quest wireless with after market headphones. My favorite coil is mono is 11 inch mono unless its A junkie area I go dd coil. The 6000 I think is the best PI for very small gold. Im not worried about missing small gold one big one makes up for A lot of smalls. I also run the Equinox 800 in very trashy areas for gold. My friend Seth taught me how to run the Equinox for gold. I run in park 2 with the six inch coil. That cuts out much of the trash and helps with hot rocks.

    I personally know tom we use to detect every week together. Tom is a beast, he can out dig 98% of the younger generation. I bought the axiom as a replacement for my 2nd clapped out sdc, the axiom in my opinion is more superior than the sdc hit a 1 oz pocket inside a mine the sdc couldn't hear, along with multiple small nuggets wedged in cracks of bed rock. I favor the 11 dd fc coil over the 11 mono, i run my separate wireless set up for my personal head phones, the z link ms head phones that come with the axiom isnt that bad IF YOU DONT HAVE THE HEAD PHONE VOLUME ALL THE WAY UP, turn all the way up then back down a smidge to get rid of the destortion. So far i like the axiom found some very small gold with the 11 dd fc coil and hit some bigger gold at a decent depth with the 16" mono. Since i got the axiom i dont swing my 7000 very often, the axiom has a variety of settings that can be customizable for the user, i have noticed the axiom is not a full sensitivity detector here in California unless you like all the extra back noise and extra sensitivity to hot rocks, in which can be ground ballanced out. Im not knocking minelab they are excellent detectors that has found me A LOT of gold and some monster nuggets. But for what i do the axiom is great and of you know how to set the machine up tp your liking it performs better. Best of luck to everyone out in the gold feilds.

      Well I definitely appreciate your comment and I am going to pin it to the top for everyone to see. Yeah Tom is an amazing gold prospector and all-around great guy. I never got a chance to use the Axiom much as I only use the GPZ-7000, GPX-6000 and gold monster 1000. It's nice to hear encouraging comments from a fellow GPZ-7000 owner too! Any issues with battery life or the comfort/weight of swing? Thank you for the view and comment!

    I have changed to a 6000. I found a small nugget today in the side of an old dig hole, clear signal. Someone must have heard it, dug a big hole, then given up. This is the power of the the 6000 to shine on those small pieces.
    I am up to 14 grams this week so far. I loving the 6000.
    BTW I always turn the threshold off and run manual flat out. Difficult.

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  10 месяцев назад +1

      I have never considered turning off the threshold and cranking the sens up, will definitely try that! May miss a few deep signals but from a productivity standpoint, your probably doing better by not chasing small birdshot and iffy signals. Thanks for the view and comment!

    Great video Mark. It’s amazing what the new technology has done. That field has been gone over with various VLF’s and every Minelab PI detector made over the last 25 years and every new machine finds gold that has been missed. Now my motivation is pumped up to get out there.

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  10 месяцев назад +1

      That area has always been the best testing ground for new machines for sure. Scott still can coax a few out of the ground each time he goes. Heck yeah man get back out there! I can just imagine some your early days out there!

      Thank you for watching and for your kind words. In this case, we have lode deposits in the area with tilted slates and exposed quartz outcroppings (elluvial gold, not placer). We have been finding nuggets for decades out in the flat fields near where I live. Thanks again for watching the video and for leaving a comment!

    I really liked my SDC2300, but having upgraded to the 6000 I have not even thought about looking back! I added the nugget finder Xceed coil, and that detector just seems to be smoking hot now! Last outing I found 17 tiny nuggets in a small area. I’m about to go back, and fully expect to find more now that there has been some water movement. Also have the Manticore, so I’m happy to see the comparison, even though I don’t ever plan to use it for that.

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  10 месяцев назад +3

      I am too tall for the SDC-2300 so I never bought one, even the GPZ-7000 seems to be a few inches too short for me too but the GPX-6000 is fine. I swing my 7000 quite a bit to get that little extra advantage but then pay the price the next couple days as it causes me to lean forward a bit when swinging it. I can see what you mean about not looking back, huge difference in comfort and the way they swing. Same here on the Manticore in gold, I have a Gold Monster 1000 that gives me everything I need in a VLF gold machine if I need discrimination. Don't remember ever having a 17 nugget day! That's a nice ride home and a good sleep that night!! Thanks for the view and comment!

    Great video. VLF's are tough going when gold hunting if there is any kind of mineralization. Never liked that big coil for the 6000. Hardly ever use it anymore unless I'm hunting for a patch and want to cover ground. 11" stock or 14x9 Coiltek. is hard to beat for general hunting.

      Thanks for the view and comment! Love your channel and your area in Utah! Scott bought the 9" round goldhawk recently and has been killing it! Like it opened up a whole new patch in beat up ground. I think he did well with that 12x9 too. I don't get out for gold much to keep up with those guys but they find it!

    A small mono coil on the Garrett Axiom would have been a better comparison. Mono coils generally out perform dd on small gold. Even though the Garrett dd coils are wound A little different. Great video though.

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  Месяц назад

      Absolutely, we agree! Perhaps another head to head with that coil. At this point I don't have any friends that have an axiom anymore. So I would have to find somebody to do the test with. But I do agree with you and will do the test again if I can. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment!

    Great video as always Mark. Have you had the speaker mod performed on your 6000 yet? as it sounds a little un-stable. I really enjoyed seeing the comparisons between the different machines esp bringing in the M-Core...looks like there is still lots of shallow stuff for it to hit on. Recently came back from a trip up in the high country. I used the 6k with the nugget finder 12-7 and the Coiltek 10=5 Both great coils but the 10x5 made it much easier to hear the smaller nuggets after going over and over the same ground with both coils.
    strick

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  10 месяцев назад +1

      I have not and I do not know about the mod. 🤔 Can you tell me about it? If you want you can email me at the email in the video description. I need to hear about that!! 😁In this video there is a huge array of antennas on a hill close by and we get all kinds of interference from there as well as every plane that flies over on approach to our local airport, also busses driving by seem to interfere as well. We have to use difficult ground and noise cancel frequently. I have not bought a Coiltek or NF coil yet, guess I'm like the only person these days that hasn't yet. I need to! The guys I detect with all have various aftermarket coils and do great with them. Which coil do you recommend for my 6000 in my ground down here in the foothills? I don't get into creeks much with detectors. Thanks for the view and comment!!

    I wonder which one is better between the 6000 and the 7000… the Axium looked interesting but not quite up to the 6000.

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  10 месяцев назад +2

      I have both the GPZ-7000 and the GPX-6000 and they are both great and have their own strengths but the 7000 is still the undisputed champion of depth!!! It just beats me up to swing it for hours, it feels about 2-3 inches too short for ma at 6' 2". I have been called over by a buddy a few times on targets he heard with his 7000 and asked me to check it on my 6000 (one time 3 of us all came over with 6000's to listen) only to realize the 6000 could not even hear a whisper on a target the 7000 could hear and they always turned out to be deep nuggets. I love swinging the 6000 and I wish I didn't have to ever swing the 7000 but it gives me that chance at deep gold.

    Please darken your den. The white walls are off-putting. Consider burnt umber. Also, even if you don't smoke or drink, would be nice to see a cigar box and brandy somewhere in the frame. Nice video by the way. Those PI machines really excel on the lawn, 100 meters from the parking lot. But for me, fighting through brush, scree, and rattlesnakes with a PI rig has been a challenge for both man and machine, especially on steep slopes a mile from the nearest donkey path.

    Have you taken the 900 out to look for gold nuggets?

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  10 месяцев назад +2

      I have not. It's tough honestly as when I head out the door to go detecting, 9/10 times I am going to take a relic machine and go look for relics (1850's California Gold Rush relics). 1/10 times I will go look for gold with buddies who are looking to get out. Then I have to choose between the GPZ-7000, GPX-6000 and Gold Monster 1000 to take for gold. In other words, I would have to take the Equinox 900 out specifically just to test it and potentially miss out on deep nuggets that the Pulse Induction machines would have heard. Maybe next time I'll throw the Equinox 900 in a backpack and have it ready to check signals that I find with the other machines. I am confident that it's going to be a very capable machine on gold nuggets though as the Equinox 800 was and still is. They are different processors though between the 800 and 900 so it is a test worth doing! Thanks for the idea, the question, the view and comment!

      Better no doubt! Nothing can compare! Some have commented that their 5000 with a 21" coil can beat the 7k in Australia but here 7k is the king! I have been called over with my six to listen to signals on the seven many times that I could not hear turned out to be large gold very deep. Thank you for the view and comment!!
