Great video...Thanks. Lowering the sensitivity to 3 or 4 will get the Axiom running smoother. I have found similar sized gold in the Morristown area with mine set on 4, no problem and smooths out the threshold tone.
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK No way Adam, you just be you, I get a kick out of it plus it wouldn't be the same without it bro. You are my favorite prospecting RUclipsr.
Really enjoy your videos, and always enjoy seeing the gold you find, would love to come out sometime and detect with you and learn from you, I a up in the Oracle area, and also purchased a Axiom for my first PI
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK yes it does there is still some big gold out there, I been using the Garrett Gold Master 24K and figured it was time for a PI, and chose the Axiom
Well done ,the first time out with my axiom off bull rd there's an area absolutely pounded by every different machine! The axiom picked up a tiny slither of metal I could barely see😮 man I regret selling it!
Nice machine....good for you! Can you spin the coil a 180 and have the more sensitive side in the front? That was a beautiful backdrop and well framed!🍻
@@PhaseSkater I think so. But keep in mind that the 6000 had been over this ground just a few weeks earlier. The 6000 is an absolutely mind blowing machine though. If you have the opportunity to get one on the cheap, do it. Otherwise the Garrett axiom has been kick ass on gold Nuggets.
Maybe you'll use more of the Axiom. I have the ATX PI machine. It's much the same as it picks up the small gold very deep. It's a pain though because I think I'm digging a real size nugget 😊
You can turn them around they are equal in every proportion, including where the cable goes into the coil. I have already done so, but have not tried it out yet.
It was definitely a stronger signal response from the heel side of the coil. To early to tell on the comparisons between the two detectors. Boulderdash has a 6000 so I anticipate some videos in the near future.
Just got to Arizona and today was first day out. I bought a 9" coiltech coil and some new grey ghost headphones. Went to a place ive hammered just to try them out. Got 6 nuggets! Unbelievably, i got one at about 1 foot and figured i had a 1/4 ouncer. I was floored when i weighed it at 9 pennyweught! 😅 just under 12 dwt today total! 🤸♂️
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCKJust goes to show, you never get them all! Now I'm stuck wondering if the coil made that much difference or if I just missed them before? 🤪 2 of them I don't think there is any way I didn't get over them before, but the others, maybe. I really doubt it though.
So did it put the coil on backwards? Or is there no orientation written on it…. Regardless I’d flip it around the “backside” sounded way more responsive and will probably help find more in the future. Looking forward to learning this new machine with you in future videos. No skunk this time congrats and thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
I agree turn sensitivity down until machine is quiet. Believe it or not all the groaning will mask targets. When you hear something bump it up 1 to confirm a target. Usually able to run 3 after freq scan. Some like to run hot 4,5,6 sens but makes your brain work to hard to cypher all the noise. A true signal wii be more easily heard. Kinda the same as running the gold bug 2 out of balance. A lot of extra noise to hear a signal through. I couldn't run a 6K all that noise will scramble my brain.
I have never liked alot of threshold. I can test the machine with a nugget and seems to drown the target more when the threshold is higher. Thanks for the tips, I hope to get out with it again very soon
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK - It seems that the best threshold setting varies, so I like to use various test nuggets and adjust it once in a while. I run anywhere from -3 to max, it just depends. I don't think there is one best setting I almost always run the sensitivity at max here at Quartzsite, although the ground is a little different in the area you were than some of the places to the south. I like to run the MODE setting on fine or normal, if you accidentally set it to salt you probably won't find anything, at least not smaller nuggets, until you discover the problem. I did that once and couldn't figure out why I wasn't finding anything. The SPEED setting seems to best at SLOW tor MEDIUM.
@@russellhiller4198 you mean by the position of the label? Coils cannot be installed backwards, it’s only the perception of what should be forward based on the label alone. I found the most sensitive area to be actually in the back, so I flipped the coil around so that the most sensitive area was in the front
Me an the wife are coming out to Phoenix around the 15 of June it's our 38 th anniversary and we're doing a second honeymoon trip to phoenix and Las Vegas do you do outings with your viewers and show nubes how to detect we'll rent the equipment from you
Sorry, we do not provide any services that match that description. Besides, the middle of June can be pretty toasty and uncomfortable, and other mining projects may already be in motion at that time. There are people who provide those services, however and I believe one of them is at Rich Hill / Stanton area .
Dude i was in prescott and i was speaking with a local he mention your videos I am hearing impaired and looking for a good metal detector for gold I would have a hard time with the ear muffs please suggest a few fora beginner thank u
I am not sure I understand what your needs would be regarding the hearing impairment. The Gold monster 1000 does not need headphones As the external speaker is really good. The external speaker on the Garrett axiom is also fantastic.
So, I that was my first and only outing with the machine so far. At this point, i`d say very comparable. the signal response from that gold nugget was fantastic. Priced at $2,500 less than a GPX 6000 , this may be a great detector to get behind.
Great video!! I have been at this desert mining for three years and haven't found any gold with my monster 1000. I know I am using it right because if all the small pieces of lead and metal slivers. I live in Casa Grand area and was wondering if there are any areas less traveled within an hour or so that I could go try. I have mostly been driving north to the Morristown area on the GPAA and the Roadrunners claims. If you ever need someone to go with I would love to see what type of ground you are covering. I guess I am not hunting the right spots. Thanks Red
A question for you would be ....How much time do you actually spend detecting the morristown area? If you drive from Casa Grande, it does not sound like you get much actual time on the ground if your going on one day trips. Only detect bedrock areas to increase your chances. Stay off the overburden if its more than 3 inches to bedrock. Roadrunners have over 200 claims in Arizona, I`d suggest some camping trips so you can spend more time prospecting and less time driving.
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK Thank you for your advice. Yes these one day trips are really rough. Especially with the summer gas prices. I will try to find some bedrock areas. Thanks again Red
So far, yes, it sure is. I have found it when I lower the sensitivity to three it quiet the machine down quite a bit and I still have the ability to find sub 1/10 g gold.
I love your enthusiasm when you find a nice piece. Keep up the good work and heavy pans to you.

Depends on the depth of the targets. The VLF’s will find smaller gold shallower.
