    Nice unit. To be honest, who would leave it in the direct sun ?
    If i were using for the cooling function, i would put block ice or frozen jugs of water. The bigger the block or more solidly frozen block, definitely lasts longer.
    Is without a doubt a worthwhile unit to have. Especially here in Texas in the summer.
    Would be nice if this utilized a common tool battery, for interchangeability , and one less battery / charger to keep up with.
    Nice unit with a definite appeal.
    God bless J.D., keep up the great work. I hope your health is still doing ok and you're doing what you should. 👍 👍

    I love those units, but I don't understand why anyone would use it as a normal cooler. Doesn't it defeat the point of the unit? You can get a regular cooler at Walmart, and it would function as well as this for your drinks, and you don't have to open your Icy Breeze, and it will keep you cooler, longer.

    Looking forward to future tests. I’m especially interested to see how long it can provide cool air off a load of ice. How filling it with crushed ice vs blocks of ice vs maybe a bunch of frozen water bottles impacts how long it can cool in AC mode. You would want to weigh the ice going in and add the same amount of feed water to all those tests to make sure your getting a fair comparison.
    Really glad to see one of these getting some solid independent testing. BZ.

    I’ve got one for the aircraft, it works even better if you take a few of the bottle waters and freeze them. The ice lasts longer that way…

    Just thinking out loud about this. I have a solar generator and this would be good to use during power outages, using my generator to recharge the battery and keeping a small freezer going for the ice blocks. I'm wondering if the air inlets were switched to the other side if that would improve moving it without spilling H2O? Additionally, if they had an insulated secondary lid to keep the ice from melting it would extent the cooling time. The secondary lid could sit below the original lid with the air vents and then add a drain so the water condensation would return to the tub. So in essence, you have the fan air inlets and another lid directly over the ice to insulate the ice tub. Thanks for your detailed review!

  • @andrewforte
    @andrewforte Год назад +10

    Why did they not put the air vents on end with the handle? That way when you wheel it along, it won't spill as much water ?

  • @stephenodell1417
    @stephenodell1417 4 месяца назад +3

    Why do you have it 3/4 full of water? I believe it only needs 1 gallon and the rest ice. So it’s not a fair test.

    Looking at this design, I would think someone who knows their stuff could easily design something that would work better.

    I would want to try using ice blocks too and/or freezing the water bottles and see how long it lasts, I bet it would be a lot more time. I remember when I used to go sailing we always got blocks cause they took days to melt.

    This device only works well in small tight spaces like truck camper shell or small tent and as long its not too hot outside.

    There’s a way to completely seal the unit using a check valve type setup. The engineers need to use their brains.

    Test the Anker EverChill or whatever it is. No ice or water needed and can potentially be a fridge/freezer. Not even sure if it’s out yet. That’s what one excited for.

    Idk if you can actually say as part of your partnership, but is that a dewalt compatible battery? Looks like some of the ones i got off of amazon for my tools. Would be nice to be able to use one battery for everything

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  Год назад +4

      It's not. I don't have any partnership or relationship with Iceybreeze. The battery looks the same as the DeWalt 20v pack but it's a 12v battery, so NOT interchangeable.

    I actually purchased one of these and they don’t work that well at all to be honest. I wanted it to work well, but they don’t work that well. It doesn’t push out enough air to do anything really. They advertise these for an outdoor air conditioner and that is absolutely not true at all.

      @@leepayne2596ok, clarification, dry ice in a cooler with water won't benefit it. When dry ice is exposed to water it goes directly from a solid to a gas and that gas dissipates too quickly to really cool the water
