    Carl…ness.
    Recently awarded “MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR 20/21” for the QLD Prestige awards - Carl Wockner is a straight-up SAVAGE! (the good kind).
    Latest single “Fool’s Gold” is a delicate balance of organic-acoustic POP mixed with singer-songwriter lyricism and honesty, which is exactly what you get when you’re first exposed to Carl Wockner, especially in a live setting.
    Determined to pave his own path in modern music - Wockner uses multi-instrumentalism and dynamic production to take listeners on a journey through multiple genres and sonic excitement, all while telling a story.
    “Recent singles of 2020 END OF ME, PAINT THE AIR, STEREO, CMB have been a collaboration with pop producer Ben Flanders. We added specific ingredients of Pop production with REAL acoustic guitar, hits, taps - vocal trills and voicing. These were all incorporated INTO the beat to give a nice earthy presence, and we even added Kazoo (on Better) just because.. I really feel like we just straight up need more kazoo in our lives!”
    Carl Wockner was named the first and ONLY Australian artist to ever win Top Honors at the International Acoustic Music Award’s 2015 (USA), along with top of the AAA category for the release of his album Crayon Days with producer Michael Flanders in Nashville TN. Wockner has skipped up the charts with his first two single releases receiving high rotation to national radio in both Australia and USA which landed the title track into the International Billboard Charts. The same album has received a 2016 IMA (Independent Music Awards) Finalist nomination for Best Adult Contemporary Album. It was following this recent success that Wockner relocated his family to Nashville TN, USA as a strategic move for his evolving career.
    Sept 2019, Carl was featured for an entire episode of “Backstage Marquee” a syndicate show aired across the USA featuring original artists set to be ‘the next big thing.’
    Sept 2018 Wockner performed LIVE on National USA Television. The show HLN on the CNN Network for the segment “The Weekend Express,” featured Carl’s original songwriting and performance as a showcase taste of Nashville / Music City.
    His rare “Live Looping” style solo performance matched only with his signature vocals and unique acoustic guitar work renders Carl in a league of his own. The live shows have been recognized throughout Australia and USA with multiple headliner performances at festivals and touring, and Wockner is now rumoured as one of the busiest musicians in Nashville, TN - aka “Music City.”
    Since landing in Nashville, Wockner has released two EP’s including a Christmas release with the favoured “Santa Selfie.” Currently his latest single “Better” is noted as the best studio representation of his signature live performance style.
    There’s something about Carl Wockner’s music that simply exudes peace. The peace you feel when you’re humming along to a nostalgic track, or the peace you feel when you just know everything’s going to be ok. However you connect with Carl’s music, you would agree this he is definitely onto something.
    Carl’s first EP, the self-produced, recorded, mixed (all in his lounge room) Acoustic…ness, was released in 2011 to an overwhelmingly positive response. Single “Pictures” received airplay on Hot 91 FM and ZINC FM, the latter of whose DJ’s referred to him as “the man with the big hair and Golden Tonsils.” Carl was also named a finalist in three categories at the 2012 and 2013 MusicOZ awards: Acoustic Singer/Songwriter, Blues and Roots, and Pop.

    This is the future . I've been in so many bands that we sounded great together , but we all ended up hating each other and couldn't stand being in the same room to play gigs. That's every band I was ever in . Could be me? Through the miracle of electronics i have preloaded bass ( that I play) and drums into separate tracks outputting bass signal to 750 watt bass amp/ drums routed to large pa along with my vocals. Guitar straight to marshall.I am glad I lived this long!!!!!!

    Carl, my brotha! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 15 years ago I cried for a year straight after my very unique and old "S.S. Stewart" acoustic guitar, which I found in used guitar store, was murdered one night when I was staying at my parents' house on a cold evening, put the guitar in it's case on the other side of the bed I was sleeping in, not realizing that there was a heat register there, melting all of the glue in the guitar, which I discovered to my horror the next morning when I woke...As soon as I watched this video, and heard you strum that Maton EMD6...the freakin' hair on the back of my neck stood straight up...It's sounds EXACTLY like my dead guitar! I immediately went onto Reverb, found one, bought it, and soon it will be mine!!! So pumped!!! Thank you!!! I originally found this video because I was researching more info on my new Headrush Looperboard (also such a fun new toy), that I just traded my old school Boss RC-50, and RC-3 peddles in for. I have been using a similar live set ups to yours for my performances these past years, but am completely revamping my whole set up this year (just pre-ordered the Neural DSP Quad Cortex, too), so I appreciate the inspiration and the exposure to the Maton! Great music, btw! (My stuff, if you're interested: www.gunsgunsmusic.com). Cheers, Carl!

    I've had the Headrush looper and the RC300 and actually decided to go with the RC300. I absolutely love that in the rhythm section the boss has the Just Hi-Hat option as rhythm and I used that as a live click. When I begin smacking my guitar to make kick and snare sounds it all glue's together really nicely. It is so easy because musically it matches every song so I'm not scared of the audience hearing it meaning no weird routing issues to deal with trying to hide the click like on the headrush, and all of my loops are super in time every single show. I use in ears in my rock band and don't really like using them doing singer/songwriter stuff.
    A Side note it is time for Company's to start paying you for this because I just went out and bought a OC 5 and the Wompler pedal after watching these vids.

    • @carlwockner
      @carlwockner  11 месяцев назад

      thanks for the comment mate! I love this - so many people overlook the RC300 cus its an older pedal, but its very stable and fantastic to work with. Honestly the Headrush and even the RC600 are quite high end / professional series loopers and you really need to be specific with settings in these to get what you want out of them. hahaha - ONE day Ill get a sponsorship off them hopefully!

    Hey! thanks for sharing the video. What is the wood block you use when tapping on your guitar?

  • @surftiki
    @surftiki 3 года назад

    This is awesome! You are the Boss... even without the Boss (RC300 :-) you have such a cool and laid back flow when building your loops. Very inspiring... But is the soundquality of the headrush really that much better? I believe the 300 has 16bit WAV files - can you hear or feel the difference?

    • @carlwockner
      @carlwockner  3 года назад

      The difference mostly lies in the transparent output. Whereas the RC300 has compression/limiting built into the output signal. As soon as you overdub a couple things it squashes the mix. Which IS actually a good thing for most people to tame their loop. But when you dive deep into dialing in your quality it’s a restriction. Also I’m not sure the rc300 is wav quality. I thought it was 16bit mp3 output (just the loop). Whereas the RC505, and the new 500 are both wav file outputs. The 505 is 16 bit wav not 24. But there’s barely any difference in that

    • @carlwockner
      @carlwockner  2 года назад

      Thanks mate! No these tones have taken quite some time to dial in. But the order of importance is: - 1. Guitar Pickup, 2. quality effect pedals, 3. playing ability. 4. Effect Settings. Hope that helps mate!
