I like scrolling through these videos to see how so many mislead people on repairs, like removing calipers, taking break lines loose and so on. Thank you for posting a no nonsense video on how to do this. You are a professional!
Bravo! Take a bow. You know you're good, when you can make it look this easy. Thank you.
Just finished replacing my 2014 Sonata 2.4L GDL driver side CV axle. I WISH it was this easy, but my stock assembly was definitely not built the same as the vehicle in the video. Mine didn't have those 3 bolts to remove and fold everything over. Had to remove caliper and strut to fold knuckle down out of the way. Fortunately the the axle did eventually come free from the transmission with the right amount of coercion from my position laying on my back under the car. We don't all have nice lifts and huge garages to be able to walk underneath the vehicle. The new axle slid in, jiggled a bit and voila! It seated itself like magic! At least that part was simple!
I wish all the how to videos were this simple. Not too much commentary and simple way of doing it. Thank you
+dancelilman Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
I would have done mine the hard way by taking the caliper and strut loose if I hadn't seen this. Thanks for the great video.
Same here
This is the first time I did replaced the cv axle shaft and it is also the first time I watch your video and all I can say is that you are a Legend and I so thank you so much for the simple and very clear explanation
I just learned a bunch. Wish I had all the time I have wasted over the years back. The explanations were great. Thank-you.
What this doesn't tell you is that the part at 1:28 is actually sped up for the video. The real process takes no less than an hour and 24 curse words. Getting those bolts to pop out of their holes was like pulling teeth with chopsticks while wearing mittens. I am entirely convinced that if I never put the bolt back in the top or the nuts back on the the bottom (as shown at 1:20) I could have driven the car for years without working those bastards loose. They laughed at my lube and literally broke my hammer (it was rubber). That said, this was a very helpful video and I did successfully replace both my CV axles.
You're amazing! Not a mechanicr but your video made it simple and easy! Thank you!
I was watching other videos, and they were all taking ball joints apart, and taking calipers off. They all need to watch this video !!!!! VERY GOOD JOB
+Steve Bastardi Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Loved your video thanks for the detailed instructions and detailed information on bolts needed for the project. I did mines today drivers side. It was a little challenging since I don't have a lift had to do on the ground. There is something I noticed worth mentioning don't pull the wheel to hard to the side might mess with the ABS sensor now I have to replace mine.
Great tutorial! Well done! I need a lift in my garage. 😣
Great video personally i would do the top from the strut. Im glad you spoke on the reason why you didnt do it from the top because alot of people were going to be confused on why you didnt do it from the top
+@conleyproduction5440 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
I should've learned when my dad use to aske me to pay attention...great video !
Very straight and to the point video with some pro tips. Thank you
Did anybody watch this and think that was easier than usual?
Every single time I see one of these videos. Lol
Too easy to be true and sometime your eyes fool you😂
You did very good job!
Like the video clearly!
Thank you very much!
Fantastic video. Very informative, good clear speaker, shows important details. Saved me a lot of wasted effort. Thank you!
Best video on this. I hope my job goes this easy.
nice work, you breezed through that axle swap made it look easy
This woman is amazing...I don't even know how to take the tire off to begin the fix ..
To the point with no bullshit! Awesome job and video!
A good working snow bunny🌹😘 thanks for showing me... 2021😷👍
That was perfect ! Mine is rusted all over but this helped
All in all a good video. Well lit and shot with better than average audio. How about grease on the outer splines, clean fuid on seals, I like using medium strength threadlock. If you have the wheel off always clean it well, keeps brake rotor cooler as the wheel acts as a heat sink and your brakes last longer.
Your great you just gave me a lot of confidence doing it myself the part i misunderstood was the peace you spun that goes into the transmission
I am such an animal. I was thinking undoing the breaks and the whole enchilada. Great video very helpful. Thank you
Thanks, can't tell u how helpful and cost saving this video is
Thanks 😃 for the video, you did a really
good job ! 😉 .The video had a clear
good volume voice sound when you was
talking, a clear close up view and clear far
view when it was needed of each step
that you was performing and showing 😉 .
This was an above average video. Thanks. Good job.
Excellent Video, this is perfect! I assume same process and technique for a 2015 Sonata?
One of the best videos I have seen do you need to replace the seal while the cv joint is out?
Awesome video. Couldn’t have been made any better….she is an awesome mechanic
omg you make it look so easy. unfortunately, I am changing bearing ball joint and inner tie rod as well so I am assuming more has to come off, but the way you took that axle off. other videos stated you needed a speacial tool
Once again thank you for a great video. I love the way you demonstrate you work.
Great video! This is very helpful. Thanks 🙏
A really good vid !! Right to it.. No sappy music.. I am about to do the driver's side tomorrow.. Thanks !
+Lee Captis Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Is this the same procedure for the driver side? The "easy way" that is without taking apart the brakes and such?
She is a badass! Great vid
Just finished doing this and your video was very helpful. However, I forgot to put that big washer that goes on the wheel hub side of the cv axle back on from the old axle. Would you take the wheel hub back off and put that big thin washer back on? How big of a deal is it? thanks
Can you please do video on the cv axel seal or tell me the tools I'll need and how to go about it
Wow, clear and straight forward 🎉 Thank you
A quick and easy way. Without getting a Alignment..
absolute great vid ...audio ,,,lightning ...and camera angle ,,,,also great details on socket sizes and torque specs ...that said can I ask why does one need to change this axle.?.. what symptoms do you notice to tell you that the axle needs changing ?.... when am driving along I hear a clunk clunk when I hit the depression of a man hole or pothole ?..is that the strut ..?.. the ball joint ??.. or the axle ?? How does one actually make the diagnosis .
If you have a 2012 veracruz and some other models, this way will not work because the studs that enter in the ball joint are enclosed on top and bottom unlike this one where they can just separate without removing the studs. Other than that i know this also works on some honda accord models and almost any vehicle where the ball joint connects to the lower control arm in the same way this one does. Awesome video!
Great job, I’m doing mine next , I see you got it done in under 7 minutes …so that’s a piece of cake …PD I know that’s not gonna take me 7 minutes looks easy to your eyes ..
Does this apply to a 2013 Elantra ? As far as specs and socket sizes ? What size impact driver is recommended ? I don't own one but there's a couple sales going on
Thanks ,your way is fast .Used on 2009 sonata ,Work very well.
Question do you drain the transmission fluid 1st before starting this job?
This video literally helped me so much
Wonder if it's same steps for the driver side. Fixing to have to do both sides on my gfs 11 sonata limted edition. They popping like crazy when turning and backing up and turning.
Great video
Excellent job and description.
Great video, but does this process work for the driver's side as well???
Great video and I will be doing both of mine tomorrow using this perfect demonstration. However you did give me a heart attack with the washer comment yet you proceeded to use the same one lol so I guess I'll be doing the same because I can't find the part online.
I didn't think you needed an alignment after replacing the struts on the sonata. No tapered camber bolts.
She's better than the mechanics at my job
great video .
You did this with ease what it take you about 40mins?
Hello!could you tell me what size prybar I should order?I'm doing this from home
Need a drivers side video update
Go ahead girl do your thing
+@nikkina2828 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Great Job!!!!
Does this also apply for the driver’s side too
Thank you so much for this video 💕
Thank you!!
It's funny most mechanics do this the hard way.
What type of impact drill are you using
Is the process the same for the drivers side?
Just did one it’s easy, felt weird and all I took off was the caliper, rotor and top strut from knuckle
Respect and admiration for you
Does this work for a 2013 Hyundai Elantra?
This method will work, even my Toyota is almost the same too. Almost all *front-wheel* *non-electric* and *non-hybrid* cars are pretty much designed the same way. Just make sure a new castle nut comes with the axle otherwise buy one, and also buy cotter-pins when getting a new axle.
Thank you
Why would it need an alignment if you remove the strut bolts?
I didn't think they were...what is it...eccentric, I think. They are just straight bolts and standard nuts, no? I could be wrong obviously, but I'm just curious.
That was brilliant!
What’s da torque for 2011 Elantra cv axle nut . Is it he’d to remove da seal n should i remove it if da seal doesn’t leak n car have over 269k miles .
Same process for the driver side???
Perfect
Great and clear video. Doing my wife's here soon
Half inch drive or 3/4in drive for the 32mm socket?
Thanks for sharing
Do you have link for same part, but for hybrid? 2012 Sonata Hybrid 2.4L ship to Canada?
Wow, bravo.
Excellent explanation, well done! start follow you)
Can you replace the output shaft seal while the axle is out?
Straight forward
what kind of gloves are those
Why was the seal not replaced?
The original had a vibration dampner in the middle. I've noticed the new ones do not and it makes a weird vibration without it. I hate that. Other than buying OEM, does anyone have any idea where to get ones that have them on it?
Lol.....I wish it was that easy! Cv axle fell apart and i broke 2 pry bars trying to get tge end out of the transmission.
Thank you so much
Beast!!
Very well!!
Boston?
good Video
+TheMagno707 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
My only issue is.....they discontinued the cv axles for my car pre 5/13 for 2013 kia optima sxl 2.0l turbo aaaaaand nobody knows what works aside from a few guesses which i havent seen anyone verify
She's good, I want her for my mechanic
I'm wondering how you got the old axle nut off without using the weight of the car like you did when you installed the new nut?
Power tools! there is no torque spec to take the nut off
No non sense and straight to the point !!! You're doing a tremendous service to many people
