I've loved this book since I was a child, I'm seventy years old now and still find humour and philosophy within its covers. An absolute classic to rank with Wodehouse and Dickens.

There's a certain charm in how amazingly low-budget this looks yet still they put together a piece of film for an equally-charming low-budget book that we can all just love and relate to.

Missed my favourite scenes in this version. Packing, Uncle Potter hanging his picture, the tall tale about catching a fish and the hilarious stories of Montmorency and the cat and the dogs tied up before a store. The book is absolutely hilarious.

This is a brilliant adaptation of the book. I love how the movie include the book's reminiscences of other trips as conversations between the characters; how the book's poetic passages become actual poets in the film, and how the three comedic actors bring to life the writer's narrative humor. Tim Curry as J., Michael Palin as Harris, and Stephen Moore as George make the viewer want to join in the spats and practical jokes. The pacing of the editing keeps the whole thing sailing along. Wow!

I am not certain how many agree with me but this book is a watershed event in English Humor.
The impact is so profound that those who wrote after Jerome K Jerome either by design or
unwittingly try to emulate his style and his ability to sober up a tragic situation with a healthy
    and funny retelling.

I read the book back in the eighties, and found this adaptation a decade ago, and to this day find it a PERFECT evocation of Victorian bachellordom, by turns satirical, lyrical, poignant, and genuinely poetic. A splendid flight of English fancy!

Karin Hvass Isn't that the best feeling? To hear oneself laugh out loud unexpectedly at some brilliantly witty phrase is so delightful. Of course, the other night, I listened to an audiobook story and actually gasped out loud at a terrifying and unexpected turn in the tale -- also a thrill!

I just heard of this book/movie, and realized I actually lived this. A couple buddies and I took off for a couple weeks holiday in my friend’s dad’s station wagon. We camped all along the way. Instead of a rainstorm we got caught in a freak blizzard that snowed in our camp. We did go and find Sam McGee’s grave, you know, in Beiseker Alberta. Of all the crazy things they had a hamstery store open up on Main Street. We wound up at the Fish Mongers at Pike Place Market in Seattle and ordered Starbucks, but the real cool thing was the Boeing Plant in Everett.

Some of the incidents missing that of those in the book like when george's watch stopped and he woke up at 3.00 am and that he was late for work...and also when they are very much hungry and looking up for restaurants at some town(i dont remember it now) and all were closed or full then a boy came and invted to them to his house(who lived with her mother) and gave them supper and place to stay for that night....and also the things he remembers are in the book and questions but here the frnds ignore him and dont let him to do so....but still it was a nice movie...

It is a Tim Curry movie, one of his first. I like it a lot. Subtle humor. It was released in 1975, the same year as Rocky Horror,. Do you remember this from that movie?

I’m here because I am studying English. I downloaded an app to read books and I’m actually reading exactly this book in the app. There I understand almost everything when I’m reading but I need to improve my listening!

And for those who didn't get subtitles, you'll probably looking in your phone, and if you are, tap on the "3 vertical dots" button on the top left corner of your screen, select the 2nd button from the left, select the language as English
And you'll get the subtitles! Have fun!

although some chapters are missing (Uncle Podger etc.)but it's good if u want to understand the story dramatically.
