hi there well done .best to all john
Would be nice if you showed the mechanism of the blade from other side so we can see how you fabbed it to function properly... Hope to see another video of this 😉
Thanks for the video and the ideas! I have a 32T Ariens which is a great 2 stage splitter but has the blade on the ram which has always bothered me. When the snow flies I'll bring it in the barn and get to work making your mods.
Very impressive. Best modification I’ve ever seen on box store splitter. Now you got me wanting to call my welder buddy. 👍
Great little mod for homeowners around the woodyard. 😊
Great mods to the splitter .. taking a box store splitter and making it better.. worth every penny.. good job.. subbed to see what you come up with next..
thanks, working on the next project right now!
You sir are a genius , I wish I could bring my Countyline to you and pay to have it modified like this . I am a new sub for sure !!👍🏻
you are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing this great modification. I will attempt to replicate it with my own splitter. God bless!
Good job! I have been planning on doing this to mine when I get some free time. I don’t plan on making the blade adjustable though. The horizontal blade will be stationary approximately 4” above the deck.
Barney just found your channel, new sub here.
thats a great idea with the insertable wedge, i can definitely see how you doubled or tripled your production.
Good luck with your channel.👍TCT
Great job!!
Very nice. I wish I could weld and come up with ideas like you did. God gave you wisdom!
He truly did!!
I think i might weld up my old box store splitter in the same way. I do have a ruggedmade splitter with the lift arm, but the old gome depot champion splitter might get a face lift, great idea, i like the verse at the end also, never heard it before. Thanks
Thank you, GOD bless!
Nice conversion! You have some great skills that are working to your advantage. Well done sir!
Thank you very much!
real nice , i have the same splitter so now i have a new project. lol
Excellent job my friend!
Very good alteration. Having split a lot of firewood over th last 50 years and have a processor, saw, splitter etc. may I tentivly suugest, the machine is repositioned so you do not have to walk round it every time a couple of logs are loaded and the "taker" off person waits until the next split logs come through. then she does not have to struggle with the nearly split bits. The machine pushes them out. Well done with the four way. you could of course make a 6 way if your logs get any larger.
Good morning, awesome video would you mind sharing the link or model number of the new wedge. I’m interested in purchasing one . Thanks.
Good work
Want to speed up production, have Sandy work the handle while you load the logs and unload the pieces. great work on the splitter
I like what you did smart man thinking about improving your splitter and a Christian family ❤
3/1/24..Hello from waaay down South in New Orleans area! 1st time viewer, 👍&🛎✅️ 'd; I watch Outdoors w Morgan's, Rock Hill Farms, Eastonmade & others, all use several Manuf'd log splitters with hydraulic lifting, elevator tables to prevent operator lifting the 'rounds' up to splitter/ram area. Your unit is nice & strong, looks great! Love that manual 'stair-step' notch position design for 2 or 4 way splits. Very clever! You are very handy & innovative! Great video! Stay safe. Carry on & keep on innovating!😊👍⚙️🔧
Thank you very much!
Good job!
Where did you get the new 4 way blade?
Nice Build!!
Nice one!
🎧🤪🎤🫶 Thank you so much for sharing 🙏 I wishing you a beautiful day to you and all your viewers. Much Love Thierry ❤️˘◡˘❤️
I’d be interested to know how the wedge faired after repeated pressure from the cylinder. Did it stay in place or did the hydraulics push it apart.
That is to cool. I'm so doing that.
Nice!
Thanks!
If you tilt the 4-way blade "forward" a bit it will leave room for the bottom logs to come free more easily.
Excellent innovation!
The wing you welded on needed just a bit of draft angle and it would keep your firewood splits from hanging up underneath as much.
Thanks for the ideas.
That is super cool! Almost like a homemade eastonmade if you heard of that. What was the splitter brand?
Thanks, yes it is really cool. The brand is SpeeCo Split Master 25 ton from Princess Auto. Its a great little splitter and works really well. We've never had one issue with it.
vertical splitting ? great for small work
Pretty good man, 👍 i like the manual hieght adjust for the 4 way, is there a way to lock the handle into place? Like with a clip pin from a trailer hitch? If u accidently bump handle with a round or lean on it wrong, could some one get some fingers pinched? Like if it released the wedge an it dropped? Just wondering, good welding
Thanks for the thoughts. Yes, I could make a way to lock it if we find that it's necessary.
@@BarSanHomestead but hey you literally reinvented the wheel here, and did it good!
Thank You and GOD bless!
You maybe should have asked your helpful friendly neighbor if he would prefer the new one or not. He probably would have said no. The way I think these days is everything is being built with less or no pride at all. People cutting corners and having no respect for others or themselves. I’m happy to hear how you and your neighbors are acting the way all people should act. Peace my friend and to your neighbor friend. ✌️👍🇺🇸
Thanks for your kind words. GOD bless!
The only mod you are missing is the log lift. I would really put a cage around the engine. Can't get good Honda engines anymore and they work like a champ forever.
Thanks for your comments. I have some different ideas for mods in the future for putting the whole log on a conveyer with a chop saw.
@@BarSanHomestead I've looked at that myself. I am thinking along the lines of a gravity roller setup.
Where did you get the blade?
Cant tell from the sped up video.
The real rpms the engines turning at.
But i ganed a good bit of speed going from a old flat head Briggs engine turning about 3,000rpm.
To a more modern ohv engine turning about 3,600rpm
Took the round trip of ram from around a 18 second trip to a 14 second round trip.
.
One side affect is fluid heat. It doesn't get over the point thats bad for hydraulics, but it gets above the temperature that you can safely touch.
i have not timed the cycle time on this one but its not bad, i get slower so it seems faster , thanks for watching!
for relieve splitter weight, put a spring
Would you mind sharing the dimentions of the new wedge?
approx 29" tall and 13" wide
Maybe the tailer should have control of the multi splitter, because she can see where the quarter size better than the feeder. I don't know??
You can actually see really good from the feeder side. Thanks for watching!
Where did you purchase the four-way wedge blade from?
Range Road Enterprises Ltd, Alberta Canada
@@BarSanHomestead thanks!
are you going to add grizzly bars to help clean the split wood.
No, we keep the bigger chips for kindling and the small ones go on the burn pile to cook our hotdogs for lunch. :)
you don't need an eastonmade when you've got skill.
and time.
Can I ask what name splitter you modified to your ideas.
Its a Speeco Split Master 25 ton from Princess Auto
@BarSanHomestead I have the same splitter, was thinking of putting a 4way on it but wasn't sure it could handle it. Now I know! Great video, thanks for sharing.
First video with a gas powered splitter being run inside a building!
Be safe!👍
Yes, just a small trial run, before going outside. Big shop, lots of air!! Thanks for watching!
How many ton is the splitter ?
25 ton! Thanks for your interest.
Any issues with splitting knots and would you change anything?@@BarSanHomestead
@@BarSanHomestead looks like you’re splitting Pine ? Can it split hardwood with 25 ton four-way splitter
Thanks 🙏🏻@@BarSanHomestead thanks 🙏🏻 would you use a higher rated 40 ton hydraulic for four-way splitting of hardwood?
no problem splitting knots , so far like it the way it is!@@brenttalk9788
I am really hoping that you both wear the necessary PPE when you are splitting. Ear and eye protection. back brace and gloves too. such things would encourage those who might not be inclined to use PPE to do so. I always wear PPE that i mentioned when splitting wood.
Mine is 16 ton !!
I split only HARDWOOD!! Many larger diameter! I got ab5-way splitting head, but larger wood won’t make it (HP !!!)
have not stalled this one yet!
this is good but it loses the ability to split vertically. i often have rounds over 24 inches in diameter and green. then vertical splitting is a blessing.
Where we live, we rarely get anything that big. Thanks for watching.
Not sure why you covered up the brand name. People might be interested in buying one if they like the performance you show in your video.
I was thinking the same thing..
Same 🤚
sorry people , i am new at this and i thought their is some kind of copyright stuff where i could not show it. it is a speeCo 25ton split master from princess auto
@BarSanHomestead yeah figured that was the case...
@@BarSanHomestead No worries, now you know! Thanks for the video.
Just buy a wolf ridge
went to the internet and looked at them, i could not afford one of those for all the wood we need personally , but it would be a great machine . we are plenty happy with ours and it cost a hole lot less even with our mods!
