- Making bonsai doesn't have to be daunting and difficult. My hope is that in producing these videos you find the confidence to create your own bonsai out of, pretty much, any material you can find. In this video I create some interesting bonsai styles using raw material. Easy.

"Wherever there are branches... JUST WIRE THEM! " Another Peter Chan classic quotation! Thanks for video. I really enjoy it.
You are such a natural teacher. You’re speaking what is in your mind as you work and it is so enlightening and enjoyable to follow you.
Yes, it's really amazing.
I am Learning from him everyday, the wisdom is great
With your help, i was brave enough to pluck and wire up a small wild pine I took from the woods last year. I fed it some holly tone and she looks so happy. You can tell when a tree is happy. She grows new sprouts all over.
I cannot convey how much i love this channel
What a beautiful hobby that doesn't have to break bank and teaches patience!
What kind of human are you that gives a thumbs down to this man? He's such a amazing man
Millennials…..
I have only just discovered your channel a short while ago and have been watching three or four of your videos a day to try and take it all in. You have rekindled my excitement for bonsai that I had as a youth after first seeing them on the “Karate Kid” movie. I feel as if you have become a dear friend over the past week, and I cannot wait to begin my journey into bonsai. I also enjoy your colorful shirts, I too have several that I like to wear. I hope to some day be able to make the trip to your nursery and meet you in person. Thank you,
Jason
Thank you - that's nice to know.
BigJay MTB 🙏🏻🎩
I just discovered this channel today, have watched 4 videos so far, and this was my thoughts exactly. Bonsai hasn't even crossed my mind for almost 30 years and now I want to go make one.
When you talk about the traditional shaping of bonsai and how sometimes people want to be “unique,” that’s what I will say when people look at my very amateur attempts with my bonsai plants 😊
Because I am 72, I know that I don’t have 20 or more years to wait for trunks to grow.
Geraniums make quick bonsai.
Perfect, two new videos about a topic Ive been waiting on.
Thank you. Bending and twisting branches into a work of art. My first attempt.
Snap oh buggar.
I love how accessible he makes bonsai. Got me so motivated I bought a Japanese juniper from Lowe’s. Was priced at 19.95 but register read it as 15.95. Think it’s a nice tree to start.
Saw how long the video was...
Got extra excited...
1 whole hour!!!!!
Thank you Sir...

I love your bonsai. But i cant make a bonsai. Can you help me make a bonsai
Thanks for not overcomplicating pines. I understand they're more difficult than some other trees but some people make it seem like it's surgery to trim them!
I find his voice so soothing. I’ve always wanted a bonsai plant. I’m going to do a little more research and start a new hobby. I promise I will do my best to care for her. More than likely she will have to come home preshaped. I appreciate this video upload. Thank you.
thank you, that was one hour well spent!
“whereever there are branches, just wire them” - Peter Chan , words to live by 💯
Very inspiring. Here you can see years of experience with bonsai. Thank you Peter.
Bonsai magician. Nothing else to say. Thanks
Such a fantastic talent to have and an eye for beauty. You are great Master Chan
I love listening to peter talk about bonsai. thank you!
So many great tips and I really like how you relate these tips to everyday life.
Thankyou Peter
Thank you, I have a mugo that is out of control, this gives me the inspiration I needed.
This gives me hope for so many of my nursery plants :)
Thank you Peter :)
Many thanks Mr Chan, for all your videos, your smile and your expert advices.
Very much enjoyed! Filled with new ideas. Thank you!
Impossible materials turned into beautiful bonsai art. Thanks Sir Peter for sharing your knowledge to us.
I have been starting my journey into bonsai and unfortunately i have been failing at keeping my starts alive but your videos have kept my positive. One day i hope to be like you! Thank you for the awesome videos!!
I've put a pair of Felco secateurs on my Christmas wishlist... Just hoping the Mrs notices lol
Longer the video it will always be the best
1:01:05 🙏 what an amazing tree . A joy to watch you work 🤩
Spectacular! Thank you for sharing your art
I really enjoyed watching you work on these trees Peter. Nice shirt 👔 too
Thank you for making such wonderful videos and encouraging me to think that bonsai doesn't have to be complicated to be enjoyed. I just started in bonsai and have pulled two pines and three maple trees from my woods. I am thinking to let them settle in over the winter and develop roots and see what happens in the spring. I am so excited.
I take my hat to Mr Chan, so talented!! I enjoy so much his videos and inspired me to continue trying in this beautiful art
Just loved this video. I have learned so much. Thank you.
I always love watching this channel...so relaxing !!!
thank you so much for all your inspiration as i settle in to a new home and set up to give this a go. 30 years stage designer
Another invaluable video, thank you as always Mr Chan. Looking forward to Bonsai Fest in 2020.
Also, I learned so much in just 10 minutes that I went and rewired my spruces.
thank you for showing your process. the videos are great for people who don't know where to start. inspiring.
"This leyland cypress is a weed. It's almost impossible to use for bonsai."
...aaaand bonsai.
He said Almost
He is magic. 🥰🤣
He’s like Edward scissor hands
amazing video! as always!
"Why do we have to wire everything?", next tree: "The first thing we do is wire every single branch."
Think about it for a while.
People who make their hobby as their profession and be successful are lucky.
I would bet it has less to do with luck and more to do with all the hard work he's placed into mastering the art and building his business.
@@alejandrohuerta988 You are absolutely right
@@alejandrohuerta988 i wasn't just talking about him. That was a general reference.
And about him well he has dedicated his entire life in his hobby and he is Master of this art. That's why i said he is lucky to have his hobby as his profession. You'll see very less chance of that with other people.
Another great video very inspirational and great information
Thank you for your time and the examples that you show
Double videos,.awesome..thx for sharing peter
Huge gratitude of thanks for your videos and teachings. Really appreciate you are doing this and the art you share

Happy Holidays!!! I like long videos... so many things just “pop up” that are so informative!!! And I’ve not heard you say yet...”this is an impossible specimen, it’s a waste of soil”!!! Time has been an excellent teacher!!
Thank you Mary
Thank you for wearing Christmas shirt! It makes the holiday 😇
Exelente un gran maestro..digno de imitar. Gracias por ese ejemplo para tratar los pinos.
Im only 29 from australia but i too use both metric and imperial in my day to day calculations. Ive got a small olive tree that a friend gave me that im going to attempt to bonsai.. Ive had it about a week and each day i pluck a couple leaves to start exposing the trunk and its already starting to become something more each day that passes. Love your work :)
Excellent first design and formation of pines. Very good video to learn. Thanks Peter for sharing Regards 👍 😊 👌
Inspirational video particularly liked the cascade tree
Thank you for sharing your talent. You're truly amazing! 🪴
Enjoyed watching how you gave an extra shape
Thanks for another great video! I've always been a bit reserved about working with pines... perhaps I should give it a bit more consideration.
Glad I took the time to watch U at work, Sir!
"You must be wondering about my shirt..." 😁😆
Thank you sir! I make my own pines to, thank you for sharing 🙏
I hope you plant those two that grew together as a unique two tree bonsai!

Always learning with Peter 👍👍🇵🇷
great great video! thank you!
always such wonderful shirts and videos
Beautiful work - I was hoping you'd make a cascade with the one with the crazy branch situation :)
Inspiring. ..thank you
Thank you the great video!
Nice job Peter, I would be happy with any one of them! Dar usa
Excellent!!
bonsai...
You my sir, are amazing
Pokok.e keren lah...
Salam bonsai dr indonesia
Great video. I am in the USA and the wife and I redun our front yard garden into a Koi pond so I removed three wintergreen boxwood shrubs and turned them into bonzai. If you have any boxwoos bushes in the UK I would love to see what you would do with them. Thanks for sharing all the helpful information you pass here on the RUclips channel.
Mr Chan, I've noticed in most of your videos that you rarely use pebbles/rocks as soil, and instead opt for the soil the plan is already growing in. I've seen other people remove all the soil they can until it's only the tree and roots. What's the difference between the two, and which is preferred?
Drainage is the difference! The akadama mix drains much better than normal field soil
I was told to leave the soil around the center top because the beneficial fungus helps the tree with shock and recovery.
With evergreens.

Like it very much, thank you
thank you for your nice videos and instructions, its very helpfull. I think everyone is amazed by the raw materials (tree) you have and how turn em into even nicer Bonzai! I am curious how often you change, renew or remove the wireings.
a true bonsai master
Ho is great master. Thank you.
You are amazing peter👌😁
i like your videos very much, im seriously considering making a bonsai myself ;D
Thank you teacher...
excelent fantastic bonsai
Hi i love the videos and the technique of bonsai and dedication to the craft.I was wondering what did people use long ago other than wire?
you made me laugh haha, For ladies this is like plucking eyebrows. I love the videos!
BEAUTYFUL
Thanks for all the great tips. For how long you keep the wires on ?
This is so enjoyable to watch. It's amazing to see the transformation into Bonsai. I'll be exploring the nearby forest this Spring and start digging up small trees!!!
You know that's illegal, right lol
Your videos is awame, you are a goog teacher.
You look fabulous Master Chan. If people are worried about your shirt, they're missing out on the brilliant information, their loss.
The shirts can be a distraction - but I like colourful shirts
Do what brings you joy, as you say about bonsai.
Шикарно!
Outstanding work of Bonsai Art👍👍👍
Thank you for sharing Sensei🌳🙏🙏🙏🪴
